I shall be spending the whole of September, and the first week of October, in North America, speaking in ten different cities from Dallas to Vancouver. I am 83 years old, and travel is more irksome than it was. The maxim, “Quit while you’re ahead” has recently received a welcome boost, and I anticipate that this will be my last American tour. My swansong. My final bow.
There’ll be a Q & A at every event. And I’ll be signing any or all of my 19 books, including The Genetic Book of the Dead, which will be just published. This will probably be your last opportunity to tell me how profoundly you disagree with everything I’ve written and said. Or the reverse if that is the case. Either way, I look forward to seeing you.

Of course, it could be a 'Frank Sinatra-style' farewell tour - i.e. the last one is just a rehearsal for the final one, which will be followed by a final FINAL tour, then an ultimate goodbye appearance, then a last bow, then a Final Curtain series of concerts, followed by yet another Last Chance To See, before the final, final, F-I-I-I-I-NAL tour, and another special farewell appearance, then - 😁

Just left his Vancouver show, very insightful as always. Dr. Dawkins definitely seemed tired, and it tugs at the heart string to see what aging can do to such a brilliant mind. Thanks for all the thought-provoking things you said today, and have given us for many decades. Stay healthy and enjoy your retirement!

I know I certainly will continue arguing and debating with Theists! 😊 As I have done for MOST of My Life!

Mr Dawkins, I hope you get to read this. From the bottom of my rational-scientific heart, I want to thank you for being born in this generation. I don't think I ever will have the opportunity to meet you, so I'll have to thank you here. Thanks Mr Dawkins, I'll take your memory with me till the day I die and rot and nothing of my ego remains. You make me proud of my generation. And I will suffer your death as the death of one of the best individuals in my tribe. May your memes live for millennia. And thanks again, and again, and again...

Not many teachers of his caliber. I've read a number of his books and mostly agree, even in cases where he was learning from earlier misconceptions. (Sad that the lunatics have so poisoned the atmosphere that I have to weigh such a statement so carefully. Science doesn't exactly welcome mistakes, but often they are a necessary part of the process.)

I certainly do not always agree with you, but you are, in my opinion, the second most important biologist in recorded history. I very much wish Sir Darwin had been able to see your breakthrough understanding that natural selection takes place (largely) at the level of the gene, not the organism. I think he would have been delighted. I share your passion for evolutionary biology, although in my case it is merely an avocation. While I am less sanguine than you about the virtues of atheism, I agree that most religious activity is bad and have enjoyed watching you through the years destroy many of religion's wicked zealots. Your presence in America will be greatly missed by me and by your many other American admirers. I toast one of the last of the great British gentleman scientists!

The only thing I don't agree with stems from the few discussions Richard had with some of the zealous indoctro confident religious clergy who have no intent of discontinuing their obnoxious pursuit instilling the fear of their non-existent god into the vulnerable through their pathetic theatrical rituals, intimidating towering buildings, staged backdrops and dress attire. Richard has been a relentless warrior against all religious pursuit for the biggest part of his life, but his kindhearted though straight to the point diplomacy with the clergy in their uncompromising mindset has unfortunately made not the slightest difference to the conscience of these self serving conveyors of illusions and confusion. But, as the world is beginning to see the evil of Islam and indeed the millennial historic evil of all religion, it is only a matter of time for sanity to take root and erase religion off the face of the Earth. Thank you Richard, and all your by now well known colleagues who refuse to bend to the whims of insanity.
