Nice wee interview Jenny. I wish Montana well in her new career. Whatever the doubters may say I always found her to be very pleasant and engaging, especially with the youngsters, at Model Rail Scotland. We can all only hope that whoever replaces Montana and Simon aka “Mr Hornby” can reverse Hornby’s fortunes as the hobby needs Hornby. The hobby needs more youngsters too to flourish long term and Montana was very much instrumental in creating a friendly and welcoming environment for all as one of the key public faces of Hornby.

She was a force de tour - along with simon kohler - brought new product, detailed loco + models + slot cars and innovations like Bluetooth digital decoder, TT range is coming on but again my grumble with all these players is this hornby is extremely expensive - new models (locos) costing over £200 each

Well done for catching up with Montana before she leaves for pastures new. Your chat made me wonder how many main line locos, invariably referred to as ‘she’, have been named after famous women, excluding Queens and others in the Royal Family. And of those very few (eg two Class 92s), how many have appeared as models?

Thank you for sitting down with Montana. I thought she brought something new and refreshing to Hornby videos, and did a great job with the launch of Playtrains for the much needed younger audience. I fear for Hornby’s near future with her and Simon out of the picture and the rising cost of the detailed model range. If they want an opinion (which I doubt), they should focus down market on sub £100 locos and leave the high end to the increasing small volume manufacturers. There’s a host of hobby returnees. How many more would there be if the (less detailed but good running) locos and rolling stock were more reasonably priced?

I was a little surprised that Montana came out with the 'I'm not a model railway enthusiast ' after eight years of working there? I wonder how many more at Hornby are not model railway enthusiast's??

Seems a very nice person and no doubt a great marketing manager but as she says herself she isn’t an enthusiast. There were some saying she should have taken over from Simon Kohler, however she isn’t an enthusiast and doesn’t have anywhere close to the prototypical knowledge to do what Kohler did, love or hate him. Jenny would be more suitable for the Kohler job, why she hasn’t had offers I don’t know

some say grudge others point out un desputeable facts ,, it is on hornbys own web site they have made a 5.5 million loss ,, no one leaves a high flying job with that much publicity unless pushed or there is much more going on than you are hearing ,, but to lose two of their main faces in fast succession is beyond fishy only the biggest hornby ass kissers will deny it @@LNER985
