Was a really fun game, daltos has definitely improved a ton but unfortunately there is no cure for being daltos and the Duncan-daltos forever war didn’t work out well for anyone

If he rolled over Duncan like he thought he would definitely would’ve been a great choice

There's definitely the problem of inexperience but when she overcomes that there's definitely some fight in them. Their start was awful and they didn't try to expand too far at all so they were pretty starved for resources and despite that they were pushing Lewis back despite having their capitol nuked.

@@colossaldonut5190 Have you played Civ 5 before? Thats the most fun kind of game- especially with friends to chat with. I do wish he scrounged together a nuke or had some bombers + spies to try and snipe a rocketship part- would have been hilarious.

Lewis was literally in the middle of the map, with players all around him and he still won. They really have to start focusing on the bigger threat, not idling around building useless buildings in every expand. Teaming up has much more of an impact than just going 1v1 against a stronger player. Otherwise it was great to see daltos improve and play something quite different. Lewis also did notice that daltos was starting to run away with the game and actually did something to stop it (unlike Captain Passive) which was interesting to watch, too bad he didnt finish the job with his capital, otherwise it would have been a very good suprise war.

Just never gonna happen with Captain Passive, Kirsty is too new, and Daltos and Duncan were in a forever war. This was over once Daltos's offensive on Duncan stalled out

The editing was great Rythian, I thoroughly enjoyed this series! Civ 5 is the best Civ, and I'm hyped to be seeing more of it--and I'm excited to see a science win, even if it was Lewis lol. Might have been a closer game of Daltos hadn't crab-bucketed Duncan. Kirsty was a great addition to the cast, I'm looking forward to watching her rise to competency* (*Yogscast competency, lol). One more player I think would round the cast off nicely. Looking forward to the next one!

Kirsty was surprisingly solid. I sort of expected a Sips or Sjin once she was thrown into the big pond, but watching her was more like Duncan from the early days. Definite potential there.

My final sort of thoughts on the players of this game: Daltos knew what to do but not why. Lewis knew how to do stuff but not what. Duncan knew why to do stuff but now how or what. Rythian knew what he didn't want to do. And Kirsty was just happy to be here.

That's because everyone knew the game was already over and Lewis was just messing around. That game was 100% done at that point and they've all played the game enough to know it. Kirsty got to actually do something in the game, and he was very complimentary of how she handled the following warring. Don't see the issue.

I was kind of hoping Duncan would have grown a strong enough resentment towards him from all the wonder-knabbing and settling that we'd have an early war. Maybe plotting while goading lewis into fighting Daltos... but nah he just had a bad game. I'd love more teamups to stop Lewis before he pops off; just a city or two to keep the ending interesting once in a while.

@@DoABarrelRol1l the main problem is that Duncan and Daltos were the only other two players that would even try and stop Lewis and they got locked in the forever war. Rythian won’t attack anybody ever and Kirsty just didn’t have the confidence to do so even though imo Japan is a pretty strong war civ compared to everyone else.

Editing was great, felt like we didn't miss any big action. But my only complaint isn't really on Rythian. But what the hell is going on with Daltos view? He constantly alt tab'n? HIs screen pans to the left into fog of war.

As a note, it'd be nice to have the outlines of each civ's nametags on screen match the colour of the outlines of their civ colours as well - "maori" and "romania" were particularly difficult to read because their darker colours were somewhat muddied by the black outlines.

Kirsty did a great job! I'd definitely like to see the roster of players mixed up a bit more for next game. Lewis always wins, daltos is a forever war boy, Duncan somehow always has barb problems early game and cries endlessly about it, and Rythian always turtles up and most games ends up bankrolling a war to appease a neighbor. There's plenty of people in the office to get together for more noob games if they are willing. As long as it's just noobs without anyone to hold their hands, just let them go free and figure it out for themselves.

For the next game you can get out settlers faster by manually making all your citizens work production. It will say you are starving but you cannot lose population while building a settler so you can use this tip to get your early game cities out a few turns faster each.

Loved this series and thought Rythian did a great job editing. Kirsty was a great addition and possibly handled Lewis the best out of everyone! Would love to see more new players if you can find them. Civ 5 is a bit of a niche game at this point. Lastly, I thought Lewis nuking Duncan and Daltos was just for laughs but it knocked out both of their airforces so they couldn't launch a counterattack. Good strategy!

rythian did great in editing this, and it was probably his best round to date! even though he completely forgot to build any sort of military... again... lol. daltos had a VERY strong start, but after that war with lewis and going after duncan, he kinda ended up throwing the game... as usual. if he had made peace with duncan much earlier, they could have combined their armies to stop lewis... duncan... well, he was just fucked from the start, and should have joined daltos in the war much earlier... and kirsty! almost winning with the delegates! i don't think that ever been done before, and she came pretty close! i was really hoping for the kirsty rythian alliance come back from behind win.... as for lewis, it's cool that he won with a science victory, but he wins so often it gets boring after awhile... nuking everyone at the end was just kind of dick move at that point... plus nuking pizza hut is just gross in general... day old cold pizza hut is the hill i'll die on.

Rythian, great editing, but second I don't know. You weren't touched by war at all the entire game, Everyone else had at least a bit of war and Lewis, Duncan and Daltos definitely warred enough to affect their other plans. Kirsty had a lil guy war at the end when Lewis knew he had won and just wanted to make sure a World Leader vote never had a chance. With that in mind, with no war ever affecting you, I'm not sure 2nd is a correct placement.

Yeah it's honestly hard to judge him as being second place when I don't think a single thing he did affected the game at all. He basically played the whole game hoping he'd be able to out-pace Lewis and when that didn't work out he just gave up. It's like there's a running race with 5 people including Ussain Bolt and 4 children, sure Ussain Bolt cleared everyone but you'd hardly call the child that tripped forwards the while two squabbled and one was distracted by a bird when the gun went off the second place victor.

That's not usually how you determine podium positions. You don't see people getting silver in the Olympics for their efforts to thwart their opponents. It's for the effort they put in. Rythian could have built nukes, but he didn't which was unfortunate

Although daltos had a good start but ending up ruining it by going for duncan too early my biggest annoyance from this is rhythian saying he came second. If you know your behind lewis on a tech victory but dont alter your strategy to stop that then it just feels worse to watch as you essentially you accepted defeat there and then.

​@Satherian That's an incredibly stupid way of looking at things. If he actively throws, it literally makes it impossible for anyone else to win because he takes himself and someone else out of the running. Then you're expecting the new person and Rythian to take him out. Rythian wasn't too far behind on tech, so it's not impossible but having to cross all that land to get there would certainly make it more difficult not to mention the city states. If people play "passively" also known as just playing the f**king game then eventually that will lead them to have interaction due to the pressures of who's closest to winning. It's completely pointless to just spend hours chucking units back and forth for no effect. As for the culture threat, culture threat my arse Rythian and Lewis were well ahead of Duncan so they easily put a stop to that. They bought bunches of tourism in a turn. That was the stupidest reason for war and wasted their time.
