I love how later events recontextualise earlier hints in episodes like this one. You only understand fully when you watch back later. Such good writing. Like why The Ghoul smiles while reviving the dog, and how you can clearly see he's having fun fighting Maximus and not taking it seriously when he could easily have killed him, even in the suit.

I love the game jokes. Like the huge duffel bag the squires carry is a joke about the players' huge inventory and my favorite so far, Max getting stuck in the environment during combat. lol... This reaction is a lot more fun since it's an actual player watching it. You're very perceptive on the game references.

CX404 could be interpreted as “canine experiment not found” because he took him out of the training program to train as a personal guard dog for his journey to where he was going. Idk where the enclave lab was at, but if I made a guess I’d say Midwest. The prydwin isn’t super fast, that’s why he got all the way to California before being found.

Filly is masterfully crafted. I got serious Megaton vibes when I first saw it. As a musician, I also love the song choices. The '30s and '40s were the last era of American music largely untouched by cynicism, in my opinion. Check out some more of The Ink Spots' catalog. About every song has the same guitar riff at the beginning and a spoken word breakdown at about the 2/3 mark. 😅

I think that Wilzig knew who Lucy was because he was working with Moldaver and knew who she took from the vault. Lucy mentioned that she was looking for her dad and he put two and two together. Notice that he called her Ms. MacLean and not Lucy McLean.

The Ghoul shootout was basically VATS. Awesome. Bethesda says The Ghoul only has 4 Luck, I call shenanigans, but I guess it is enough for Bloody Mess, which he obviously has.

I've never played the game, but I've seen this show twice; it's a favorite now :) I love how the actors are "in" the game. The extras talk like NPCs, and the Ghoul has a good quote in ep. 3. Also: you're very pretty 😍

IMO Wilzig was at the cave the night before Max and Titus got there, notice he removes his lab coat and leaves it there and puts on a black jacket, which is what he is wearing at night when he meets Lucy. The Ghoul only needs Wilzig dead or alive that's why he shot him so he couldn't run off. IMO Lucy didn't take one of the better weapons because that would be stealing and Lucy wouldn't do that. Max getting stuck in a plank is IMO a nod to in game clipping glitches.

I'm very sorry for the poor guy Lucy met on the way to Filly, he seemed more like a desperate poor guy, alone and without water, than a disturbing "background" character (as many have said, certainly because he's not one of the cool guys on duty), with no real life prospects, not even in the short term (Lucy's water made him survive at least another couple of days) and I would like to know more.
