As an old Aussie bloke and long time viewer, I can say you are two of the most optimistic and likeable young people I have ever seen on KZbin and those qualities (not fancy degrees) are highly valued in these parts. Together, you have done an amazing job promoting our country, and Tourism Australia should be busting a gut to facilitate any of your projects and desires to emigrate. Your interactions with locals and each other are endearing and Tia's enthusiasm for "Big Things" has a life of its own. Hey Chev, just a gentle reminder: I notice you're a bit pink today. The sun is a killer - Slip, Slop, Slap! (From memory, slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen and slap on a hat...either that, or I've just insulted you). Enjoy the North but watch out for the big bitey things up there.

I just can't tell you in words how well you are doing, but I'll try! Your videos are not only fun, but they are respectful and informative about the places and cultures, which is really important. Also, the photography is amazing, both of you know how to capture a moment in a video, not just visually, I feel like I am there feeling the wind, the rain, the sunshine, smelling the food etc. Your relationship with each other is just so healthy and heart warming, makes you both a joy to watch. In other words, you're doing a great job!!

Cheveyo funny thing about Australia's skilled migration list is it's not all University Degree jobs, e.g. jobs on the list include: - Cafe or Restaurant Manager - Motor Mechanic And then some states have occupations that are not on the whole of Australia list, so checking out WA's list might be worthwhile, Also WA being considered regional does make it easier to get a visa, so it's probably worthwhile contacting an migration agent for some advice (I'm not a migration agent) but do know best to start the migration process before you're 35 as it gets harder after that.

Your Canberra video was how I found your channel (I think KZbin recommended it to me because I live in Canberra). My theory for why so many Australians don't like Canberra is that lots of schools around the country do a "visit Canberra" trip. They always seem to come in the winter when the weather is awful, and the kids get dragged around Parliament House and the War Memorial. All they learn is that Canberra is cold and boring. I think that Canberra's secret is that it's a much nicer city to live in than it is to visit as a tourist.

The Vietnam and Japan moments you mentioned were also some of my favourite episodes to watch. I realise it's premature to talk about this, but if moving to Australia is in your 'long term' future plans, one way is to first migrate to New Zealand (a bit easier to move there) then move to Australia once you get NZ permanent residency. NZ also has the advantage of being a great place to learn to sail. This message was not sponsored by Immigration NZ.

Your channel is so lovely and inspiring, but I can totally understand how challenging it can be to trust that the work you choose is the right path. I think most people have those kinds of existential doubts sometimes! It takes such bravery to follow your heart and intuition and I can't fathom how this pressure could become magnified in the public eye. I'm with you guys, why would you want to plan your life out to the last detail. Life has to have some spontaneity. And don't cater your travels to what others want to see you do, if they are interested in you, they will want to see what you want to do. You guys have a great channel keep doing you, and don't live your life for others.

It surprises me that so many people told you to avoid Canberra. I personally loved the place once I was used to getting around. For the first time, short term traveler I can completely understand the antipathy as it is a city that was planned from the first foundation and it has the best road system of any city in Australia with sub-cities connected via that system. Each area has it's own business hub and shopping precinct with the main one ( Civic) having the most shopping options.Being a city geared for a floating population, it has the best second hand goods sellers in the country as every 3 years or so embassy staff and business staff get re-posted to other countries. They don't take their whole household with them , just their immediate personal possessions that they can take via air transport. Second hand books was something I totally pigged out on in the three years I lived and worked there. The cultural side of things is excellent with some of the nations best and most interesting Museums. My advice would have been to get a second hand copy of the city street directory as it would be one of the most useful books you could have there. Then off load it at an op shop when you leave.

The Big Things are very "tongue in cheek" and are meant for a bit of a laugh. We love to hate them & hate to love them. We need a 'Big Chevayo' statue in some town looking down at the tourists in disappointment.

other youtubers have had the same viewer comments about Canberra, and reaction to the real place. i think if your expectations are set so low it's not hard to feel they're exceeded. it might even be Americans find Canberra easier to grasp because it is the only Australian city that was fully laid out in the suburbs-and-freeways era of the 60s and 70s

Nice Q&A guys, some interesting questions there. Just think if Tia didn't call the daily shots, you wouldn't have met those wonderful kids in Marble bar! I've been there and to many other remote communities when I was in the Defence Force and those indigenous kids are among the friendliest kids you will ever meet, we used to give them our combat ration packs, let them climb over our vehicles, we'd have our weapons locked away in a trunk before we entered the town, which of course they'd always ask to see lol. Edit - we only carried weapons for croc protection if we were tasked to set up near water or on a large Military Exercise, just wanted to make that clear and looking after your weapon each day is part of training. No live ammo unless on a croc watch shift.

Absolutely. Had the pleasure of visiting some of the islands up north when I was with the Navy on Patrol Boats. The indigenous kids showed us an amazing swimming hole and were excited to explain some hunting techniques with us. Some great memories

Yeah I have a mate who wants to move to Australia, but it's nowhere near that easy. You need to find a entry path like a skilled working visa or a partner visa. It's a total nightmare for some good folk who just want to come live in our beautiful country, but I guess those controls have kept our population growth steady and under control.

I did the coastal road from Brisbane to Sydney once, and I'd never do it again, it's so boring. Now I always take the inland route, it's so much nicer, so much more scenic, much easier to stop overnight.

If sailing interests you watch Sailing Uma. A young couple, with no previous experience, buy an old Sailing boat, refurbish it and sail the world. After about six years and just under 400 videos they are still going strong.

Enjoy Oz (again).... keep up the good work 😊😊 Lisa from Brissy, hey... BTW... Tia. I am born and bred Aussie, but I love peanut butter and jam sandwiches. AWESOME Q&A guys & u can tell it was a killer sunset from the colour changes. And whenever I have anxious moments of self-doubt, I think of this quote that helps me.
