An Iconic Blackpool Pleasure Beach Vlog 2nd June 2018

Join us as we visit Blackpool Pleasure Beach for the first late night riding and fireworks event of the season and we finally experience the brand new Mack Megacoaster.......Icon
Icon is the UK’s first double launched coaster that includes 2 inversions with 2 tunnels and plenty of interaction with other rides around the park and is definitely a top UK coaster
Also in the vlog there is a small Big Blue Hotel room tour, Icon of ride footage and some footage of the fireworks display to end an Iconic day at our favourite UK park
Vlog is filmed in HD 1080p 60fps using a GoPro Hero 6......unfortunately there is no ride povs as filming on the rides is strictly forbidden

Doesn't have to be the front seat but the front car will do, the airtime over the first hill is pure bliss. At the beginning of the day I couldn't decide if Nemmy or Icon was number 1. By the afternoon Icon won me over though, what a ride. So lucky to have it in the UK and fantastic that we have that kind of ride hardware in the Pleasure Beach.

James Beaver you will enjoy Wicker Man it’s a great family thrill coaster and the theming is amazing but Icon is a better coaster all round 👍🏻 ! So far I’ve had 8 rides on Icon and 2 on Wicker Man

It's a fantastic ride. The only problem for me was being a gentleman of slightly larger stock, we had issues getting the restraints to come down fully unless I really breathed in (and then I could hardly breathe for the entire ride). The good news is, Icon has finally convinced me to go on and stick to a healthy eating diet. So yay Icon, thank you for the new and healthier future me. 😉

VengaboysRbackINtown I’m around 18st and fit on it fine especially on the back 👍🏻 but was fine on every row, had loads of airtime too ! We did see a guy who was taller than me not fit on and do the walls of shame 😥

You're at it again! Leave the Woodies alone. The National is grade 2 listed so you can't mess with it anyhow. I was on the park on Saturday and the Big Dipper was fast and remarkably smooth, Nowt wrong with it. The Roller Coaster was fun as it always is but the National beat the hell out of me, always has, always will. Managed six rides on Icon and the longer it rode the better it got. Agree with you on the front row being the prime spot but riding on the back almost felt like a different ride, I tumbled out of the Immelman. The more people ride Icon, the higher it's rating will become because it just keeps on giving. Class!!!

fylde_coast_pies great comment 👍🏻👍🏻 ! Thing is with Grand Nash is that even tho it’s grade 2 they can still re track it and rebuild it but can’t remove it ! I tend to just walk right past it now and same with Dipper unfortunately I just don’t enjoy them anymore, even gave Big One a miss because why would you ride it when a brand new Mack Megacoaster is sat there with a 5min wait 👍🏻👍🏻 bloody awesome

The point of a Grade 2 listing is to preserve it in it's original state. Re-tracking it and/or rebuilding it and it wouldn't be the Grand National. Shame you don't enjoy some of the older rides anymore although I don't really believe you. Went on Big One twice. First in the back car which was enjoyable, second ride I had on the front which was as rough as toast. What really was noticeable after coming off Icon was how tired Big One is looking. Easy to criticize but considering the continuing investment and the scale of the Big One alone, it's a mammoth job and I would imagine a mammoth cost. If anything, the North end of the Park needs a boost. Years ago when you had the Dodgems, and the Laughing Man up there it was a bigger focal point. With how the Noah's Ark was utilized and the removal of so many rides round that area it feels flat. Needs more Haunted Swings!!!

fylde_coast_pies I agree with the North end of the park, it definitely needs something new, maybe a new flat ride and a dark ride or even a new coaster but who knows, one ride I would lie to see at Blackpool is a giant Star Flyer or an awesome drop tower like Falcons Fury or even a new shot tower that does both cycles up an down

MaskofMystery yeah guest relations is in a building inside the park just as you go through the entrance/exit ! I wouldn’t bother with speedy pass, I was talking to a lad on Sunday who had bought speedy pass and never even used it as the park was so quiet

We stayed around the corner when ICON opened couple of weeks ago. We looked at The Big Blue Hotel but it was quite expensive for when we wanted to go.

Niamh Garland both lol the seats on the back row are larger than the others on the train giving more room for bigger people, it also means children under a certain height can not ride at the back

No, no, not RMC. Have GCI come in to re-track Blackpool's woodies and keep the original integrity of the rides. GCI is currently re-tracking the legendary Coney Island Cyclone. I'm sure they'd do a great job for Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

I saw someone gain access in a wheelchair via the fast pass section but I’m not sure what entrance they came through, check with BPB

Kev Kew yeah I was going to say I would check with Blackpool Pleasure Beach either email them or contact them through Facebook, there is a fast entrance but couldn’t see how you get to it plus the main route to the station doesn’t have many steps to it, definitely can’t use the main exit as there is 5 flights of stairs going back up to the top ! I wouldn’t give up just yet as there might be a way for you to ride

Kev Kew for icon you can go towards avalanche in the W&G direction. Turn left and you'll end up at the big dipper fountain. The entrance for wheel chairs is down there

Dmoth Machine I know but unfortunately I didn’t want to get banned from the park plus 2 of the Icon ride ops are subscribed to my channel so didn’t want to put their jobs at risk !! Obviously I really wanted to get an Icon pov but it just isn’t possible until the park allows GoPro with chest harness onto the rides
