An Idiot's Guide To Fixing LCD Screen And Temperature Control Lights On 2003-2009 4runners

Fixing burnt out light bulbs in your 4runner's clock LCD screen and temperature controls is so easy, anyone can do it. In this video, I walk you through the step by step process to get your dashboard lit back up in 10-20 minutes.
To replace all of the lights, you'll need 6 bulbs - 2 for the LCD screen, 1 for each of the outer temperature control dials, and 2 for the center dial. They all go in the same way, simply remove the whole climate control panel and swap them out.
Toyota part numbers:
Clock / LCD Screen - 90010-09017
Outer temperature control dials - 90010-09015
Center temperature control dial - 90010-09016
You can also buy generic bulbs and swap the original backing and cover onto them, but this way is quicker and easier. Don't waste hundreds of dollars paying to get this fixed, do it yourself!

Anyone doing this, it’s different bulbs for the Limited trim and the SR5 trim. I found this out the hard way. For the SR5 trim climate control knobs you’re are going to need 3 bulbs, one for each knob. Part number 90010-09015. All other bulbs are as mentioned in the video.

What about the sport trim? I assume it uses the same as the SR5 but i’d be nice to know before i buy anything

​@@yourmomsbf_ VERIFIED: Sport Edition is same as SR5. I have an '08 Sport, am currently doing this project. Found the Toyota official parts listings with illustrations. Two bulb sets were used - one set for the Limited and one set for the other two models.

That little pocket under the hvac controls houses all the rewards or membership cards I’ve amassed. Whenever I get to a store or place I frequent, I grab the related card and continue with my day. The 016 part didn't go with my 2005 base model SR5 4Runner. The other two for sure did. There were like 4 other bulbs in mine that don't appear to be in yours. Note: for the sr5 there are only 3 for the middle row. I went to the dealer 2x they ordered the wrong quantity of each bulb, so I took the unit off took it in and showed them there was only 3.

Love it! Thanks for the videos brotha, i just picked up an 03 4.7 sport edition 4runner and i love it, its been taken care of for 11years by the past owner and now its in my care. It has 273,000 miles and it runs strong. All the power outlets where not working and i just fixed that and now ill be driving just down the road to pick up these light bulbs to fix the clock! My friend works at the dealership as a lube tech and hes gonna get me a discount!

Great video and it convinced me to finally fix the bulbs that have been out for years since I bought my 2003 4Runner in THAT YEAR!. The best purchase I've ever made. BTW, I missed the recall to get my dash replaced by the dealership...FREE (ouch). It's got cracks and is the only part of this awesome vehicle that shows its age.
