The only time I saw drag racing (apart from in late night clubs, fnar fnar) was in Santa Pod in the 90s. Saw some fiat 500 with a mahoosive engine in it. So big the driver drove from the back seats. Best thing about it, is the tiny car had a oversized clock winder sticking out the back. Was an absolute beast at the quarter though. Fastest car there bar the serious boy drag cars.

@@filipruml there was a Fiat Cinquecento (the name is the Italian spelling of 500) in the early 90s, which had front engine and front wheel drive. It had the same engines of the Panda. I don't even know why they did it. It was just a bit smaller than the Panda.

if your engine can rev to 11000 rpm you dont cap it at 8k where max power is at readline too. You want peak power about 300-600 rpm before the redline. If you can do more, you add more stroke.

Automation has it's flaws, one being that the front aero seems to be permanently broken (usually it is max. 25kg of downforce, almost 250 rear), so trying to create a FWD drag rocket will always be the worst way to go about it.

Not true about the aero. You just gotta realize that if you add a huge rear wing and then the tiniest lip, the down force up-front won't be anything good. Gotta tweak it and add more aero elements.
