I love your bike (but the panniers are a bit big), I had the 125 version back in the day, as I was/am an engineer I made my own 241cc big bore conversion for the engine using Hillman imp 1000cc pistons and liners, the extra cubes made the otherwise standard engine really smooth and amazingly torquey low down, perfect for riding in traffic and in bad weather, I used the bike for my daily ride to work for several years until it was eventually stolen from my garden one night by a passing tribe of Gipsy's, (the whole street was hit that night) thanks for posting, brought back happy memories of better times.

Beautiful 305 Dream! Ride it and enjoy it! I’ve got a 1966 305 Dream that I’ve completely restored, the same color as yours. I put Firestone tires on mine with the wider white strip. Installed a big bore kit on mine and it’s now about a 350cc. I like the original Italian leather seat cover on yours. I couldn’t locate a new original so I went with an after market red vinyl which looks good.

I believe you have the 360deg crank which gives it that engine sound. They sound like a smaller Triumph or BMW. I rode a 150 version of that bike back in 1970. Great little bike. You can still get them brand new IN HEAVEN!.

Back in the late 70's I bought a 1967 305 Dream from a friend for $75.00 and it ran good but the idle was fast and continuous and wanting to take care of it I took it to the local Honda shop and told them to tune it up and when I came to pick it up he fired it up and I thought he had done something wrong as it had a low idle with a slow boom boom boom sound and I thought it was about to go dead and so I asked him why it sounded like that and he said have you ever heard a Harley idle and I said yes and he said the Dream was a 2 cylinder but only had 1 carburetor and 1 set of points and that's how it should sound but I was still skeptical so he said take it up the road and back and it you are not happy you don't owe me anything so away I went and returned to the shop all smiles and paid the man.

Yep, I thought mine sounded weird when I first bought my Dream...that is, until I went to a vintage motorcycle night and saw another Dream, and it sounded exactly like mine! Thanks for sharing.

Great bike! Riding on the gas tank with my dad down a country road in WV hooked me on motorcycles for life. 54 years old now. Also dont pay any attention to the negative comments. It's your scoot, so accessorize it however you want. Good to see it's being used and the bags are very handy.

Had a 66 dream, but didn’t have tube handlebars, mine was pressed metal, mounted on rubber.also had a small “dream” sign integrated in the taillight. Sounded better with the muffler plugs removed. Great bike for gravel roads, handled really well.

I have a 1965 Ca77 Dream 305. Kept in my friend's garage, wont start any more. Opened the air filter box, a mouse ran away, and saw couple of mice babies in the air filter compartment.

Thanks. I was a little self-conscious making it. Was kinda weird talking to a camera. I picked up another 65 Dream last summer. Hadn't ran in about 35-40 years and I got it running with a few parts and a little work.

Back in 68 I had the chance to buy a 1964 CA77 in white or a 150cc Lambretta for $150.00. Bought the Lambretta traded for a vespa traded it for a 1958 bugeye sprite plus a honda 90. fixed the broken spring on the honda shift and sold it to buy car parts. 2021 I have a 1967 CA77 305 Dream. I won it on Ebay for 48.97 back in 2008. I was going to use it as a bonding build with my boy but as not interested, I chose not to make into a lawn ornament. I dismantled this rusted hunk and put parts in bags. The motor was used as a door stop for a few years. Today it is in a cream white and is as good as this bike if not all original. Mine has the Firestones and he is correct that the wide whites are better looking. Just got back from NC and visited Wheels thru time. Best time looking at old American built bikes. Looking for another project since I have retired. Black Bomber?

I just got a 1960 dream 305 running. I have two questions if you don't mind. What is the shift pattern and my clutch seems to work okay but has very little travel. It disengages at about 25 to 35 % of travel. Is that typical? Thanks for listening. Enjoy that little gem it's a beauty.

Thats a very nice bike. I have a 1964 Dream with a 150. The tires on mine have been on there for at least 45 years. I found tires that look just like yours that are made in Thailand. I was wondering what you thought of them? Any thing good or bad or in your opinion should I look for a different tire all together? Does it track ok with that skwiggely tread pattern on the front tire?

I have Firestone reproduction tires made by Coker. Not sure where they are made, but you can get them online or through a motorcycle shop. I have no problem riding on them. I have seen other vintage bikes, including Dreams, that have these same or similar tires and tread patterns on them.

I just got her...there was a bit of confusion about the vin number. Engine no. Does not match the frame number, but the frame no. Does match the title. I figured the frame number ruled, but not sure if that means the engine is not original ??? Anyway, she's a sweet little ride. Can't wait to hear her run. And take a spin. Also got a set of hard panniers with her. Prolly not original, but def. in the right era. Will post vids at some point.

@@babbittdawabbitt3716 Depending on the year, they will either say "Dream" or "300", unless it's a 250 or 160. Could also be aftermarket badges, as these were notorious for falling off.
