The history of Kalimari Desert's tunnel amuses me. MK64: You can go through the tunnel if you want. It could save quite a bit of time, but it's risky and probably won't count the lap. MK7: The tunnel is now an out-of-bounds area and you are unable to enter it. MK8DX: _You're taking the tunnel whether you like it or not._

They also added a little patch to item boxes now. They respawn in 0.75 seconds now. It used to be significantly longer. It’s a huge change to online play. This also affects battle mode for some reason. I’m pretty sure they fixed the bad respawns in Ninja Hideaway too

4:02 Wario Colosseum from Double Dash is one of those tracks that is very loopy, lots of curves and turns here and there and an all around very fun track to race on. I REALLY want them to bring it back, especially with anti gravity it could be a ridiculously fun track to race on. I'm honestly quite shocked it was not in the base game for Mario Kart 8 or even the first two DLC packs because I thought it would have been the best track to take advantage of anti gravity.

Wario Colosseum is from Double Dash on the GameCube in which the entire track is suspended in the air inside of a Roman Colosseum and the track is made completely out of metal grates and road and has the giant orb shaped metal cage in the center. In a sense, yes it's design is somewhat similar to Rainbow Road with how much winding twists and turns the track has.

I think Wario Colosseum deserves it much more, and honestly I thought it should have been in Mario Kart 8 from the very beginning as it could have utilized anti gravity very well to make a lot of crazy twists and turns going vertical and upside down. I really feel like they would be seriously disrespecting that track by not bringing it back and it deserves a lot more love than it gets because it is a ridiculously fun track to race on.

As another casual Mario Kart fan, I absolutely loved this wave. DS was my one and only childhood Mario Kart game, so seeing Waluigi Pinball come back was an absolute delight. Sydney Sprint, Mushroom Gorge, and Sky High Sunday are all wonderfully dynamic and just really fun to drive on. Also, I like trains, so Kalimari Desert was an instant win for me.

6:23 - Thing is, the cardboard audience trick is used in other courses throughout even the base game But you're never supposed to get as close as *THAT* so it works out It's probably not too much effort to convert Tour courses for the Switch, so things are no doubt almost one-to-one, but surely it wouldn't have killed them to swap out the cardboard cutouts for 3D models, even if the crowd has to be cut down considerably, because if anyone wants to make the claim of "Oh, you'll never notice it when you're racing by anyway", that's almost total baloney You might not notice it for a while, but eventually you will, or maybe it'll be pointed out to you, and after that you will never not notice it

I’m kind of bummed that from the start, we weren’t getting courses from any of the Mario Kart Arcade games. Nonetheless I’m a fan of what they have brought us this pass what with Waluigi Pinball and New York Minute. Personally, if they weren’t restricted, I think it would be so cool for Mario Kart Tour to have coursed based off locations from spin-offs like a course based off Krazy Kremland from DKC2, Diamond City from WarioWare, Rogueport from Paper Mario: TTYD, etc.

So I just played some of the Wave 2 tracks, and with regards to Calimari Desert (my sister's favorite track, as I recall) I think the "on the track" bit is great for a specific reason: If I'm remembering right, that wasn't part of the original route. Going through the tunnel was something of a shortcut or otherwise fairly unintended thing. It was a well known "secret" though, so incorporating it into the track proper is very fun imo.

This is STILL some of the best content you have ever made. As for my opinion on this wave, Wave 1 had a consistent level of quality. Wave 2 on the other hand had higher highs and lower lows. The Tour real world tracks were more interesting as far as changing layouts were concerned, Kalamari Deset was a huge shock to see it change period, and they had stuff like Waluigi Pinball which looks amazing and Mushroom Gorge which has huge nostalgia for me. Sky High Sundae is alright, but it doesn’t super excite me and Snow Land is a very pretty track with great music but it’s likewise not super exciting. But still, this pack is really good, and I’m excited to see what they do in the next waves. Also, ABSOLUTELY love Donkey Kong: The Best Musical. It’s just such a silly sign.

One of the things that made mk8 so great was how you raced upside-down, up the sides of buildings and down waterfalls, adding a whole new dimension that is missed out on by a lot of these remade tracks.

I totally agree. Unfortunately, since these tracks were made with Tour’s engine and not Mario Kart 8’s engine, what little anti-gravity they might implement isn’t going to be that exciting. Like in Sky High Sundae. That track is pretty much exactly the same as in Tour, only in 8 Deluxe, it has anti-gravity that honestly feels like an afterthought. You could’ve removed it, and nothing really would’ve changed.

This wave was really good imo. Aside from Mario Circuit 3, every track is great, with Sydney Sprint or Mushroom Gorge being the highlight for me

what I actually love about the Sydney course is that, unlike some other city courses, you can actually tell what's going on; you can 'sightread' it. With New York Minute and Tokyo Blur I was routinely struggling to make the right turns for the first few plays, and the minimaps looking like spaghetti do not help in the slightest. Had the same problem with Paris Promenade to a lesser extent. With Sydney Sprint the minimap is also confusing, but you can navigate pretty much all of the course intuitively from the first try, or at least I could.

I think this just feels like the most unbiased review, which is ironic coz it’s on a topic of video where all the other current videos are extremely critical and biased. Regardless tho it’s so pleasing to just hear you’re having a fun time.
