Hi, just a quick message. Your server security certificate expired 4 days ago, it now brings up a warning stating the connection is non private and may be trying to steal your information. I'm sure this is ultimately hurting the traffic your site sees. Hope this has been of help! I'd love to come check out your arcade when my son is a little older.

He has some great machines in there. If I had a room like this though I would make it exactly like an 80's amusement arcade though. By which I mean.. A Old Period correct Cigarette Machine. Ash trays on stands. Tea/Coffee/Hot Choc Machine. One of those change machines etc. All decor / carpets / lighting all of the era.

From the moment I read about the SEGA R360 as an arcade loving 10 year old I was itching for my chance to play on one. By the time I finally stumbled upon one in a massive arcade in Barcelona back in 1994 I had already had the opportunity to have a go on quite a few gyroscopes. These ranged from a very uncomfortable standup one that bruised my arms and legs to some rather nice sitdown variants like those that NASA guys used to train on. There was a fairly hefty queue for the R360 that day and when it was finally my turn to get on it, I buckled up, ready to play G-LOC: Air Battle and the proceeded to spend my entire turn throwing as many barrel rolls and sharp turns as I could at the machine. I was so focused on putting the cabinet through it's paces that I lost all focus on the game objective and ended up in tears of laughter at the sheer ridiculousness of it all. One of my friends was next in line to play and was baffled by my antics, she kept asking what the hell I was doing, to which I just kept laughing and telling her I was having fun. I was fortunate to have had that gyroscope experience prior to finding an R360 as I was not dizzy or sick at all after my turn and went straight back to the start of the queue for another go! Although this time I would actually make the effort to play the game properly and go on to complete the mission with a safe landing. The game was actually made to be pretty short, I guess to avoid one player being on the machine too long due to it's popualrity and the capacity for projectile vomiting to occur. It was and probably still is my ultimate arcade experience memory and it is certainly one I cherish. I really did love the arcades back in the day, what a time it was to be alive :o) ... RE: Craig Walker: What an awesome collection this guy has! Must be very hard work keeping on top of it all. Excellent work that man!

This got me thinking back just seeing this, and while there was, for a few years anyway, an arcade in my home town that i hung out in... the most nostalgic thing for me though. Was on these yearly vacations we took (late 80s early 90s) and while staying at a particular camp ground along the way. They had an entertainment room. Pool table, vending machines and arcade cabinets. I used to sneak off to it in the middle of the night while one else was around. Took my time to appreciate the sounds, the soft glowing screens, warm summer breeze coming in. Just something about it, It was my favorite part of the trip. Being by myself in that room and the feeling of freedom i had.

I always wondered where all the machines went after the Trocadéro shut, now I know. What an amazing collection with some lovely rare cabs. I remember being amazed by the hologram cab, unable to work out how it could be possible. I also remember watching people play the championship boxing game, some people were so into it that the machine looked like it was being assaulted. As for Glock, I used to get sick just watching people play, and that was without the sausage roll and cake. Great work in bringing up this to us 😊

1. That opening is fire. Really full-sounding synthwave. 2. I never knew Carnival wasn't developed by Sega themselves. TIL. 3. My local arcade actually had both Choplifter and Time Traveler (albeit briefly). 4. Major Havok. A long time ago, the creator of said game was prowling forums and mentioned in passing that he originally planned for the final level to be this gigantic maze, but ran out of time. There was some talk about possibly tweaking the ROM to achieve his original intent. Obviously nothing ever came of that, but that was a rare instance of the retro 80s having a voice in (relatively) modern times. 5. Heavyweight Champ. Games like this exist to remind me that even though I grew up during the golden age of arcade games, there were plenty of titles that predated my experience by a number of years. Generally that era before CPUs and RAM were a given on arcade boards. To me, they may as well be in the same realm as that film-based shark shooting game briefly seen in the movie _Jaws._ Stuff I read about, as opposed to being able to tap a childhood memory. It's a stark segregation.

On a related note - the last time I was at Arcade Club in Leeds (perhaps 2021) they had a deluxe Powerdrift that had the hydraulics jacked up so high that I practically had to hang on to the cab to stop it throwing me out. Amazing collection and workshop. I saw and played most of these games back in the 80s to mid 90s. The best thing about living in a seaside town in my youth was the large number of video game arcades. I think Hastings had about 6 or 7 back then with three of them (Out of This World, The Deluxe and the one beneath a nightclub) being particularly big.

There simply aren't enough words to adequately describe what I've just watched, utter heaven for any SEGA fanboy (i.e. me 😁). Sadly, I've never seen an R360 in the wild and I doubt I ever will so having the privilege of watching you bring your lunch up is the next best thing 👍. Massive kudos to Craig, what an unbelievable collection 👍👍.

Haha I think one more minute in that thing and I would have bought it all up 😂 2 minutes it’s definitely enough for anyone to take as it’s so disorienting 🤢 Glad you enjoyed it mate

Oh wow, a Time Traveller machine! I saw one forum describe these as "Almost Extinct". Did play one back in the day - not a good game, and the "Hologram" effect is really just a mirrored dome, but good memories anyway.

Yea it’s just like dragons lair but not as good. I’m not a fan of laser disk games but I can imagine bitd it would have been very impressive.

R360 that's my holy grail, I actually bought the house I live in with the R360 in mind, I have a hangar in the back with 3 phase power and a big gate to move it in. At least I have a couple of my other favorites like Outrun Deluxe, Virtua racing twin, Manx TT Deluxe, a couple of Daytona USA 2 Deluxe, Enduro racer sitdown. But also looking for a Space Harrier Deluxe of which I had 2 a long time ago but needed to sell them for 150 euro back then because I had no space.

I went to see him years ago when I had my OutRun deluxe, I had a problem with the audio amp. Didn't keep the Deluxe in the end, went down the replica cab route and emulation, but it was a treat to go and see his collection in person. Great guy, very generous with his time. He probably wouldn't remember me though. ;o)

This is the kind of preservation of video game history that I love - it should not end up in landfill or skips, but given to people who will lovingly restore it all to its former glory. :)

Kids today genuinely won’t understand. This is like a magical place. That feeling I get even now when hearing the music from the machines. It really is something I feel sad about that youth don’t experience this. I love console gaming but when you walk to a unit and jump on say Gauntlet with 3 total strangers it’s just the best

Thanks Craig for letting us see your collection and thanks Alex for making the video. Appreciate both your time and effort for doing this. I met Craig once when I started out in the hobby, trying to get a naomi cab up and running, he was so helpful.

What an utterly astonishing collection. Craig is as talented as he is dedicated. Still trying to process that he's got a working R360 in there alongside all those utterly beautiful taikan cabs. Last time I saw a Brave Firefighters and a (broken) Cycraft was Skegness Pier in the early 2000s. Mindblowing doesn't come close.

Only the 80's could have brought us R360. These days the lawyers would kill it before it was even thought. What a glorious time to have been alive.
