A great video, fond memories of Daley Thompson decathlon on the rubber keyboard speccy where it was a blast, hyper sports created some hard fought medals ❤ I also have to say the shop in the cave was my favourite part, like you the feeling of nostalgia and knowing exactly how those shops felt, such a good job done by Neil 👍🏻 and the cave elves

I'll definitely be buying Deep Blue, first time I saw this I thought of the old Speccy Scuba Dive so nice to hear that was indeed the influence. Shame the overlay isn't available for it any more. Great vid mate.

I was born in 65, and the arcades of my childhood were pinball and electro mechanical games like this one. When Space Invaders and Asteroids and Pac Man came out, I lost interest in the old games. But it's remarkable to look at them now and just marvel at the creativity of the original game designers. Wonderful game, wonderful video!

Wow, a Gee-Bee in the flesh. My ~6 year old self retained one of my very earliest memories when I visited a mall arcade. I saw that cabinet standing alone near the front. Even then, it struck me as a little archaic compared to titles like Space Invaders which managed to have graphics with scrutable detail. But Gee-Bee's artwork was so striking. That's certainly the reason I remember it.

19:19 - interestingly, the Average Height of an Adult Japanese Male born around 1960, is 5 feet 4 inches tall - which explains the viewing port, heh [Looking it up, O-Miyamoto was born in 1952 and is 5'5''] Fantastic nostalgia and enjoyment here - thank you

As an industrial designer seeing the process is equally fascinating and painful to watch. 😱🤯 It’s like building a car using only a sewing machine! If I would have known, I would have offered to do it properly in a nurbs CAD software package for free.

Very interesting. I have a sprint 2 PCB that I repaired (ram was bad so game wouldn't run) and have also acquired a full control panel. I don't have much room so I'm planning to make a bartop super sprint with loose pedals that will go on the floor and an old CRT TV sitting on top. I did a similar thing with a missile command PCB and control panel.

I love the EM games. So many clever designs. By the way, I have a Midway Gunfight game and I love it. Simple but fun. I would love to have this Sega game also. Anothre fun game is Sea wolf, that is a little mix of a video game and an EM game with the additional lights for explosions. Very creative.

I remember finding this machine in my local arcade around 1983 I think. It was the loudest cab in the place. It was so intriguing with the huge sound and the speech which scared me a little as a kid so I preferred watching others playing it. It was too stressful for me back then, but the memory of it always stuck with me. I forgot it's name until this year as a vague memory until someone on You Tube told me once again. This is an awesome reminder. Nice one!

Aww, man. that picture of Mark made me choke up a little. Looks like a really lovely guy, and must have been if his family are as cool as they seem to be. Well done in rescuing this gear. Some of Mark will live on in the things that he worked on being enjoyed by more people rather than go to waste. Good on ya!

What a work of art these old mechanical games were, they must've had a lot of fun (and perhaps a little frustration!) designing and building them.
