Alan’s message about Marvel’s business practices, the theft of Jack’s genius and his indomitable talent etc is heard loud and clear by so many of those who love the comic book medium. There is no doubt that huge injustices were done and are still being done by large corporate publishers. We miss Alan’s voice in the medium. He has so many great stories still to tell.

Alan is a one of a kind dude. I could listen to him talk all day. One thing I like every one to know, is this is a man who puts his money where his mouth is. He has and still currently donates all watched tv and film $ to blm and other charities. Stand up gentlemen

This is a question that probably needs a really broad answer but I could never understand why intelligent people believe in magic from Alan Moore, Crowley etc I'm a full on rationalist and can't see how this has any effect in the real world. So is there something that I'm completely missing about this practice. And if you could be so kind, do you have any sort of experience that can provide me with some insight or even a glimpse as to what it's all about.

Hi@@kenzotenma3570 - I think I can shed more light on this. Alan has spoken at length about the origins of writing - the ability to form sentences with words and therefore capture and retain information - this was, in its day, absolutely game changing - to those who weren't able to write, those who had this ability would have seemed like superheroes. Alan has explained in other interviews how magic basically came from writing. The term 'spell' comes directly from 'to spell'. Alan also sees the act of creating (writing, music, art), forms of magic as they are realising ideas and putting something into the world which can have a profound affect on those that consume it - it is by all accounts, magic. This 'bardic' magic if you will, is what Alan is a student of.

One piece of Alan Moore’s work which really sticks in my mind is the chapter of From Hell where Gull and Netley take a trip round London and the history of various places is described
Lovely chilled interview with one of the writing Legends of the ages. Moore deserves every success with his new book Illuminations - bloody good read it is, too!

Incredible get. Huge respect for Alan Moore continuing to support his hometown, walking it like he talks it on the "think globally, act locally" front. Congratulations to the Happy 'Hood gentleman. "Never be convinced that you are powerless. While you've got Art, you are never defenseless. You are never without a sharp implement." Fantastic quote to finish.

I've read all his work and have huge respect for him and what he's done in speaking out against injustices in comic history but I also listened to his BBC Maestro class which was interesting except that he makes a really funny claim that there are simple facts in life and that one of them is that Covid wasn't developed in a lab and now we have all the evidence to say it was and I just find his and the pride of so many people being wrong about the fate of humanity being wrong kind of funny but also kind of sad (but more funny)
@theantinatalismzone392 Жыл бұрын
He is a propaganda agent obviously like anyone who gets mainstream
@PeebeesPet11 ай бұрын
You're so full of sh-t. There is as little evidence for the lab theory as there is against it. It merely exists as a possibility and that's it. People obsessed with it even though there is basically no evidence merely possibility are secretly holding the view that not only did it come from a lab but it was actually a bio weapon created by the evil Chinese to destroy the west.
