I don’t want to be a parakeet that only references one game, but this feels like the Elden ring of Monster Hunter games. Capcom’s magnum opus. Everything they’ve learned throughout the years and all the tweaks they’ve made into a whole new style of the same IP. A brand new type of exploration is going into this game, and I couldn’t be more excited

Correction on the Hunting Horn: Unless changed from previous iterations, it is one of the least used weapons in the game across the board. If you're Barbarian who has 100 charisma, Hunting Horn is for you.
@rjhogan0726 күн бұрын
@@Loyal2law also 100 int and dexterity, because the absolute galaxy brain and reflexes you need to clobber the monster while doing the tune for a buff and not getting your teeth kicked in at the same time. Hunting horn has by far the highest skill floor but everyone will love you and praise the ground you walk on if you’re competent at it let alone good.

@@rjhogan07 Hunting Horn mains are the space marines of Monster Hunter, hands down. People say it's SnS, but no, Hunting Horns do all the carrying.
@epsilon137226 күн бұрын
@@Loyal2law I’d say that with the exception of wide range builds, sns mains carry themselves, not others. Usually you don’t have to worry about an sns carting as much as others, so you don’t have to panic about keeping them alive as much as, let’s say, a dual blades player

Advice! You can now have two weapons with you, so I would advise you to have a weapon for damage and another for wounding the monsters as that is the new mechanic that can stagger the beast we face. One more, just pick a weapon and master one only for now! NEVER FORGET TO SHARPEN YOUR WEAPON AND EAT BEFORE ANY HUNTING! Like Valheim, food gives you greater chances of survival. I'll see you out there, Happy Hunting!

Switch Axe is my favorite weapon because I get to swing around my heavy sword and thrust my it into the monsters before unleashing my powerful load. As for the Switch Axe itself, I think it’s a pretty neat play style

My advice: get good at using at LEAST one of the melee weapons and at LEAST one of the ranged weapons. Some monsters it’s better for you to fight face to face, and some monsters are angry pickles you want some breathing room to not die too. Edit: to correct myself, when I said “weapon,” above, I should have said “weapon TYPE,” instead. When the game comes out, you should be collecting individual weapons, armor sets and the resources to craft things like a dragon hitting Las Vegas to steal all the cash from the casinos. Commit to using a Longsword or Hammer or Insect Glaive or whatever, but absolutely switch between whichever example of your weapon of choice that lights stuff on fire and one that drowns your target depending on what you are hunting!

Alternative, Greatsword for every encounter, especially the angry pickle

have seen some vids of this game a long time ago, looked fun and a lot of content to be had

This is especially the case when the master rank expansions is added. Expansions are generally huge and can sometimes double the content in the game

My biggest tip to newcomers would be: don’t overwhelm yourself. Monster Hunter is a style of game VASTLY different to what most gamers are probably used to. Start small, find a weapon you like, the rest will come with time. Most of us veterans have been playing since we had to use claw grip on a PSP to move the camera lol. I promise you will learn the systems and mechanics as you play and engage with more MH content. The only thing I’ll say as a “tip” is ALWAYS, always, eat before a hunt. I didn’t get to play this demo, but if it’s like every other game, eating is vital to give you max HP and stamina :)

I think my biggest tip to people that are new to this style of fighting game is to just stick with it; the combat and gameplay are going to feel incredibly sluggish at first compared to other games, especially if you chose to main the great sword or gun lance, but just stick with it. It will be really uncomfortable and difficult at first, but I promise you’ll get used to it pretty quickly. Other than that, it’s pretty straightforward and easy to get into.

To the beginners out there or who are on the fence: Monster Hunter Wilds is Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, but better. So far, basing on this footage alone, it is as promised. That being said, the requirements for you to run this game are upgraded, so depending on your PC, you might wanna use some savings to check for your Black Friday/Cyber Monday PC/gaming laptop upgrades so that you can just play the game on February. Overall, everything he said is spot on. Get your wallet ready: *you'll not regret it*

Beta is pretty good. I have three concerns. Obviously performance, but that will likely be fixed on launch. Difficulty is another concern. I don’t need it to be super hard, just engaging towards the end. And then my final concern is the endgame. There needs to be a substantial system that wants me to continue hunting for nice rewards. Other than that, I’m very hyped
@darthraum42026 күн бұрын
Generally with all Monster Hunter titles, the difficulty of monsters varies depending on the monster itself, but other than the Black Dragons the monsters aren't impossibly difficult for most players, and as for the endgame, it's really down to optimizing your equipment to better aid in hunting monsters, so as for the previously mentioned Black Dragons, they will require more setup than most fights in order to succeed. As for the performance, I'm sure they'll have everything sorted out come release, they're usually good with that stuff.

Question, seeing how you like base Monster Hunter World, what are you thought on its DLC? I ask because from what I've seen it's pretty divisive with people.
@epsilon137226 күн бұрын
It’s not really that divisive. The only thing that’s majorly divisive is the clutch claw mechanic, which while not great, is definitely tolerable. Everything else depends. Some people don’t like the endgame, others do. Some people like hard hard some of the endgame fights are. Others do not

I would like to point out that he is wrong about bow users. We don’t learn the lesson through you melee players pain. We learn, because when you die we are left to deal with the now enraged monster that you pissed off barreling at us at the speed of f*** you.

Ah yes, that moment in iceborne where that arrogant dual blades player tries to wall bang rajang, misses the monster, dies, and now the rajang is in its rage state because of the wall bang and is gonna wreck the rest of your squad
