Nonetheless its great to start learning from scratch so that you can appreciate the usefulness of RStudio.

Two Alternatives or Tips for .sav files: a) Google "spss .sav file, read into r" - there are a couple examples out there. b) Save the part of the .sav file you're interested in as a .CSV (which is what I see a lot of psych grad students do)

I got a comment to this video (that's since been removed) >>"how do you insert a .sav file?" I think .sav files are used with the SPSS stats program (popular in Psych research, among other areas I'm sure). To read these files into r (which don't immediately recognize .sav files), you'll need the "read.spss()" function from the foreign library (type the line "library(foreign)") and the "spss.get()" function from the Hmisc package (click "Packages" >> "Install Package(s)" >> Hmisc) I

Thanks! I have a question, the excel file I want to import displays not properly in R, with commas in between and not nicely in columns like it should. Now I noticed in your attached file, that you don't make columns in Excel but you seperate everything with a comma. Is this why my data doesn't display well in R? How can I change it ( I have quite a lot of data to import, so I cannot just adjust everything by hand)

Hi Charlie Spencer. I'd check out a video/resource on R plotting. In particular, check out ggplot2 (it makes pretty plots with fairly easy code.). To help you get started, check out the "line graphs" section here: www.cookbook-r.com/Graphs/Bar_and_line_graphs_(ggplot2)/

Hi Tung Mai, with 3 observations you can not assess statistical significance, as its not enough data to get any meaningful estimate of variation. a two-way ANOVA is not appropriate...2-way anova would be useful if you had a numeric response (Y) variable and two explanatory (X) variables that are both categorical. it sounds like you have just the one variable, and two-way ANOVA is not at all what you'd want to use!

There is very little information given here. Sounds like you want some sort of two-way anova test.... maybe. But with only three observations I'm not sure you can do much. Best of luck!

Hi, first of all thanks you for the video!!!. I didnt't know anything about this kind of programs and this was very helpful. Secondly, I'm trying to upload an excel file (previusly saved as a csv file) but I can't do it. It appears on R window that there is an error and I have in the file a "magic number" that are letters from the file indeed. I was trying to upload it grabing the file from the folder to the R window and then write on the editor window all the codes that you've put on the video. I don't know what's happening, maybe someone can help me. Thanks you so much.
