4:39 I don’t know if you mean to say “1+2” (I think you meant “1 or 2”) but you can’t break default throws with 1+2, if you press 1+2 your chance to break the throw is gone and the throw is guaranteed.
@benjaminjentgen3596
@benjaminjentgen3596 5 жыл бұрын
He definitely meant '1 or 2' like 'either 1 or 2'. Because if you press the wrong input (like you said, 1+2 instead of 1 or 2), the throw's not broken and you eat damages.

As a heavy throw user I can say after a few throws opponent will unconsciously keep mid/long distance from you even if his/her character needs close range. Throws also a good tool to teach your opponent to duck so you can attack him with strong mid hits later, it is opposite to mid pressure that help you to make opponent eat your low attacks. King and Armor King like to stand up by pressing 3+4 and it is a perfect time for back throw and it is unbreakable and does 60 dmg and places opponent at good position after throw, you just need to bait King to do this move by fast approach and he will repeat same mistake again and again in a row. Also if you grab opponent when he does power crush he will be unable to break this throw but you can't grab him if he activates rage art.

Great Vid Actually spawns the dicussion of Tekken's balancing in regard to who is "allowed" to have a mixup throw game, I main Lee....ye I'm crazy, I have fun though, he doesn't have a throw mixup game but why and his just frame 3, 3:4 throw....if Lee ever follows up from a 3 just duck and punish, I honestly don't get the lack of attention by the developers!

I have a perfect throw break from the left, but i am very weak on the right side. I can break 1+2 but when it comes to 1 or 2 break i miss 90 percent of the time. I can clearly see the animation but i still press the wrong button because how i have the perfect break on the left. I know about the which arm is forward than the other but my eyes are more set on which hand is forward screen wise. Like when i am on left the left arm is in front of the screen and right is on the other side so when i see the arm which is front the screen coming forward i instantly press 1 and when i see arm coming forward which is on the other side of the screen i instantly press 2 and 1+2 is easy to break. But when i am on the right side the right arm becomes the one that is front of the screen which i also know but still when i see it coming my brain instantly tells me to press 1 which is the wrong button because now right arm is in the front. When i am expecting a throw only then i break throw successfully from the right side of the screen but when it comes randomly then i press the wrong button. Its so frustrating because i play with jin/djin and like most of the mishima players (which i started 6-7 months ago when i boughy my first arcade stick before then i played on pad and on left side since tekken 6 and with non mishimas) my execution is almost perfect from the right side specially the wavedash. I still miss electrics from the left side and my wave dash is medium to high when it comes to execution.

Xiaoyu's regular generic backturned (non-jumping)throws have deceptive animation (look like 1+2 grabs even tho they can both be broken by 1 or 2). She does have a command grab for every button but only if you count all the stances, so in BT there's only 1 and 2 (jumping) and in aop 1 and 2, and no stance she has 2 and 1+2. Tho on top of that her 1 command grabs are all very slow (and you can tell by the animation which one it is) and come out of aop and rds/bt (one of the jumping backturned ones and one of the aop rolling to the side grabs).

Hey if you're gonna go over scrub stuff for players like me, can you do get-up options? Like oki basics; as someone who was raised on SF and hyper fighters, i find myself getting mauled at the wall on wake up and the simple act of rising and blocking is very inconsistent for me. Thanks! (Also thanks to any and all commenters with tips!)
@handianus
@handianus 5 жыл бұрын
I'm by far not an expert but quite often the quickest way to get up and block is by pressing up and then holding back, and same for blocking low you can stand up with up then press down/back (I'm pretty sure just pressing down/back is slower in many cases). I think if your head is towards your opponent (as opposed to your feet) you don't want to simply hold back to getup as that will make your back get exposed longer as you are doing so (better to just press up or something else). But as far as beating specific attacks against you while getting up I've found that often requires knowing more specific knowledge on attacks and how to avoid it and being able to predict the opponent using it rather than another.
@Kenlac92
@Kenlac92 3 жыл бұрын
Its been a year but, in case anybody sees this who also needs help: Holding back is your safest bet in most cases where you land on your back, feet towards the opponent. Your wake up options are 1 to roll(can roll toward foreground or background via direction input,) 3 to wake up low kick, 4 to wake up mid kick, 3+4 to perform your characters get up move but this varies per character, and down 4 will be your quick low hitting toe kick but has little range. Wake up 3 and wake up 4, if you are too predictable, can both be whiff punished easily if baited out. So dont rely too heavily. Wake up 3 particularly can also be parried and give your opponenr a free 30-50 dmg combo. Always notice how you land on the ground. If your feet are towards the opponent, this is typically ideal. Head towards is often a dangerous situation and rolling might be your safest option as well as staying on the ground. A lot of moves that cause that kind of knockdown are sometimes set ups for moves that should you choose to stand, youll be unable to defend against. Any match against law will demonstrate this. In most cases youll land on your back feet towards. You can hold down and back to block low or just back for mids. Its situation specific, but youll learn either in the lab or mid match whether or not you should roll, interrupt with a wake up, or get up and block. With all things in tekken, try your best to be hard to read, while adapting to how your opponent approaches you when you hit the floor. Some people smell blood and become aggresive. Its worth nothing that wake up 3 on counterhit is a universal launcher.

To recognize which break to use (especially with throws that are broken only by 1 or only by 2), it's like super instinct. Most of the times, I only see if it's a 1/2 or 1+2 break, but I've been surprised to break the 2 throw Jin because if he's playing on player 2, you see the palm of his right hand and the body's leaning differently. Super fast reflex with no thinking at some point lmao.
@mohseneman
@mohseneman 5 жыл бұрын
actually its more easy than you think....you just attach cheat engine to tekken 7 7 and slow down the game to which you can break throw easily....then slowly increase the speed.....I used this technique and broke 50 plus grabs straight here kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqvEdIprgNV-m80 since the animation is exactly the same for all characters thus your practice will be useful on other characters as well

i guess hes right about how throws make you a stronger player and everything, BUT i still think throws are cheap af. risk/reward just isnt right. you lose nothing if your oponent breaks a throw (which is undoubtedly quit difficult) imo the risk is comparable to a jab, so not risky at all unless youre using them too obvious.

It depends on the throw. Some of them, when broken, may let you backturned to your opponents, and you don't have many stuff to do. If I remember well, I fought a DJ once who liked 2+4 grab. When broken, he could BT d3 or BT4. He liked too much the d3 option, so low parry. But indeed, you should be penalized (leaving the opponent in + frames, just 1 or 2) to make sure you can't abuse it. When I see Mortal Kombat projectile system, I think the same, a frame system should be applied to punish spammers and make it less strong.

Yaksa heihachi (before season 2) and never learned how to break throws/study frame data. It is VERY useful to use these resources but in my opinion, don't live and die by them. NO DISCREDIT TO TMM OR THIS VIDEO! I'm just putting out my opinion is all

Naazam Basir You're either just good or you're maining Katarina with 4k wins. Regardless, it only meant you didn't maximised your full potential in what could've made your ranking up more at ease in a game that eats most of your spare time to get good at. Though i still cant read frame data, knowing the logic and concept of frame data alone will improve your game significantly

So do the command throws always extend both arms simultaneously? Or can they be masked as default throws but must be broken faster?
@walldell210
@walldell210 5 жыл бұрын
Giant swing for example is one of the special command throws which extends both arms but is breakable with a 1 input. Besides that, 1+2 and 3+4 throws extend both arms to my knowledge.

@@walldell210 What's a 3+4 throw?
@EternalSilverDragon
@EternalSilverDragon 5 жыл бұрын
The example of Dragunov was really good for this. f+2+3, f+1+4 and ff+1+2 are all command throws. f+2+3 extends the right arm, like a basic 2+4 throw, but it can only be broken with 2. f+1+4 extends the left arm, like a basic 1+3 throw, but it can only be broken with 1.

@@EternalSilverDragon Intresting, I guess it's the same with Devil Jin where he's got alot of command throws, but I never paid much attention to their animations but I knew they had different breaks. Have to test this in practice mode I guess.

they should've did throws with either left or right arm only, you break them with either 1 or 2....50-50....1+2 throws are unnecessary especially for beginers

I think all command throw breaks should have the same input. At least merge both single hand breaks. Watching your opponent's hands can be very difficult.
@LightWavess
@LightWavess 5 жыл бұрын
Hahaha nah there's no way to tell which hands your opponent extends, ppl barely react to to throws itself, most of the time it's just 50/50 or 33% guessing game which button(s) to press

@@zephune9506 if we're talking about Pro play because for some reason any other lv of play is irrelevant obviously then maybe but i still doubt anyone can just tell from an instant which hand is getting extended, so yea i still believe they have to at least guess if its 1 + 2 or just 2 break
