Thanks for watching, they are fantastic to keep and watch, and I've found them pretty easy to keep and breed so far once they got going.

So as ive understood, they need kind of a similar climate as a crestie? Also, how big enclosure should i get for them and how many should i buy? Sorry not a lot of info on these guys on google so gotta ask you😅

I currently keep and breed these in a large standard critter keeper with a strip of vaseline round the top as they can climb smooth surfaces. I have cork leant against the side spray twice a week and feed on fruit and veg also bee pollen and fish flakes

Thank you for this video, it's very informative! I actually keep this species myself since about 2 weeks now. I love how active they are and i noticed that they like to climb a lot, i keep them with live plants. Do you offer them anything to climb on vertically? I've also read that they need a heat source (i have a heat bulb) and i keep it around 24-30 degrees Celcius. Do you have a heat source? I haven't seen any in the video. I feed them milipede food and fruits/beepollen. After they've matured i'm going to try to breed them aswell. I'll definitely keep an eye out for your future vids!

Hey thanks for watching, yeah they are a very active species and yeah do climb a lot, I have a large piece of cork bark and a stick in their tub for climbing currently I'm planning on doing a planted set up for them as a display. I don't have any extra heat source for them I heat the room to around 25c. They love bee pollen powder and fish flakes and also feed them fruits and veg. They are breeding well for me.

Great species. From what I remember bee pollen should be kept in the fridge? I have pollen for the Orius laevigatus beetle, can that pollen be used as well?

These are truly spectacular! Nice vid, cheers! Might have to get a couple of starter colonies myself, are they fairly easy to keep would you say? And is there a certain food stuff that you would say is essential to their long term health ie bee pollen? Many thanks, Al

Hey thanks for watching and yeah they are amazing little things. I have found fairly simple to keep and breed so far, I keep them well ventilated with moist substrate and cork and sticks for climbing. Food wise I provide Bee pollen, fish flakes, apple, carrot, potato and sweet potato.

Hey, just found your vid as I've beening looking for info on these guys for a little while. I got my colony if you could call it that from the spider shop. I was wondering if you could tell me when the males get wings? as I'm not sure if i have any though i don't have any adults.
@IncredibleInvertsOtherAnimals
@IncredibleInvertsOtherAnimals 3 жыл бұрын
Hey, the males get their wings with their final molt when they mature, but if you turn them over and look at the last segments of the abdomen females have 2 fused segments making one large segment at the end and males have smaller segments. Good luck with yours they are a fantastic species.

@@IncredibleInvertsOtherAnimals sadly from the quick look i just had I don't think i have any males. Do you know of any videos/pictures that show the segments? I want to make sure i understand you correctly.

They can be difficult if they are small. I had to get 3 starter colonies from 3 suppliers before I got males. A quick Google search for sexing cockroaches brings up photos of this with other species.
