Sold! I have an iso-cab - it's a pain in the arsenal. Sometimes the box will develop a loose screw, or the mic mount becomes unlocked and then you've got a guitar track with a noise in it. This is soooo much easier.

We unplugged the lead attaching the speaker (or cab) to the amplifier, then plugged the amplifier into the Reactive Load IR using a speaker lead from the speaker output of the amplifier.

I didn't understand where the sound comes from. When you played with the Tele and the Fender amp, did you use the speaker of that amp or not? And were you playing through a computer o just guitar, loadbox and amp? Sorry, but I'm a beginner with this stuff and I'm trying to understand something before buying good gear for home playing and home recording.

I was hoping for a built in attenuator too but it is a pretty awesome product. Can you record the dry and ir outputs simultaneously? Will it also still protect your amp if it lost power? Awesome demo/overview too. Cheers from Australia. \m/

Can someone help me? I’m a bit fuzzy on all the details. I can crank my amp during the day just fine but want to at night also. I know you can get tones with this, so can you crank your amp through headphones? I love my cranked Marshall, you know :) thanks!!
@massiegauthier1529
@massiegauthier1529 4 жыл бұрын
Hey, I've been trying this unit. I tried it with a marshall origin 20w head, and you can definetely crank an amp with the headphones. It just needs a bit of tweaking to find the right spots with the headphones volume knob , the DI volume knob, your amp's master knob and your pedal's volume knob. However you cannot just turn everything on 10 otherwise it would just be inaudible (clipping, fuzzing and all crap of over loaded signal) and it might not be safe for your gear. It is also important to mention that you can crank your amp ONLY with your headphones, because if you run it like amp>suhr>speaker, it will NOT attenuate anymore. I hope it helped .

@@kevinsuhr6342 can you give some advice on how we can create blends of IR's and then load them up in the new Suhr RL V2? Thank you for this product btw!
@kevinsuhr6342
@kevinsuhr6342 5 жыл бұрын
@@chrisschneider5480 I believe the Mix IR2 and Wall of sound plugins are capable of exporting your blends as wav files. I know MIXIR2 can. Then you just need to make sure it's the right format. I use Audacity, which is easy and free on all operating systems). I drag the IR in there, split the stereo to mono and delete one of the mono tracks. Then I export as a Wav, 24bit, and load that in. Make sure when you export a blend from one of your plugins that it is in 48kHz sample rate. Then transfer the blend to your unit!
@WOTUFAKA
@WOTUFAKA 5 жыл бұрын
I agree with you on two IR's sound much better. I wish there was a tool/software to "easily" mix two IRs into a single one for use with the Suhr RL IR. I've tried using the MixIR2 method and it sounded horrible. I'm sure I must have done something wrong. Two Notes wall of sound won't export to standard Wav files so that sucks. Still I'd rather have the option to actually load a 2nd IR vs having to import/blend/export IRs.

sorry, it made beautiful amps sound like crap to me. very fizzy. real speakers chosen for guitar amps are usually not hifi, so the high frequencies/fizz are tamed. plug your amp into a pa speaker and see what I mean. guitar amp speakers need a cut in bass and top end, and a nicely tailored mid frequency. I had to turn down the volume on the two rock amp.

Agreed, didn’t like the tones in any of the examples. All too bright, thin and harsh sounding.
@2tallB
@2tallB 5 жыл бұрын
Except that the IR's are typically modeled from real speakers. If you were able to EQ it yourself and A/B the recorded speaker with the IR, there wouldn't be that much difference in tone, only a little feel difference. I prefer recording with real speakers, but a good IR can come very close.
@kevinsuhr6342
@kevinsuhr6342 5 жыл бұрын
This solution is meant to give you what a microphone would give you. If you stick a microphone right up into a speaker and it will be fizzier than what you hear sitting in a room with your ears. That is because your ear is off-axis to the speaker in a room so you don't hear all the fizz. The application for the reactive load is to replace a microphone. If you can mic up a cabinet the way you like for recording, you can make an IR of it, put it into the reactive load and it will sound the same. This unit can also load third-party IRs, so you should be able to get any dark micing situation you'd like too.
@MRxr400
@MRxr400 5 жыл бұрын
@@kevinsuhr6342 that makes total sense. i'm always aware when I set up my ear off axis to my speakers to get the tone an off axis mic would give you in foh mix etc. i'm new to this ir stuff and have found the tech to be amazing to tune a tone pleasing to my ear. just bought a headrush to play with the tech. the ir's are the secret to get a very passable valve tone from a digital platform. sorry, learnt a lot since my first comment.
