no its kind of dumb. its just peterson's way of saying you are the problem. you like being told you're the problem? huh einstein? or are you about to tell me there's been zero hardworking people at all in society, or nobody who's got screwed over by some power-hungry colleague? you think the small cabal of powerful people making all the incompetent decisions nowadays are simply because there was just no good people around? fool. ask yourself a simple question. its more complicated than this of course, but sometimes a simple abstract can really put things into perspective. is the world 51% evil people, and 49% good? or 51% good people, and 49% evil? because the real answer is its probably alot closer than we think. and its not all that easy to say if things are getting better or worse globally. peterson is just sitting comfortably in a chair and telling everyone else they need to "do more. do better." and that's not all that different from what the goddamned leftists say all the time.

@@anj000 The difference being that from what I have seen of Jordan Peterson, is that he is on a journey to learn and do better. He has had discussions with opposing views and continues to develop and these conversations are there for all to see. Groups like the WEF believe they have all the answers to a world of the future and have developed their position behind closed doors. WEF sells it as a mission to sustain the planet but in reality it marginalizes vast majority of the worlds population for the benefit of those having discussions behind closed doors (Davos). Sorry but that does not cut it in my book.

@@anj000 I find the ancient greek model to be quite true that places politcal systems in a triangle, with one replacing the corrupted, fallen version of another. Aristocracy arises from tyranny, democracy from oligarchy and monarchy from ochlocracy. There is no perfect system, every system has the chance to be good enough or corrupt beyond repair that results in a drastic change. I would only hope that our democracies stand strong a while longer, because the alternatives around the globe today are far far worse.

I grew up in a time where working women were glorified. Luckily for me.. I didn’t waste years and years in school to only feel like I threw that all away or feel like I’m missing something. This version is more evolved, more sober, and more mature in several ways. Two main reasons the suits demonized that movement is because they didn't buy into the whole materialism thing deeply enough to buy all their plastic food & trinkets, and because of their authoritarian-domination (now re-emerging as totalitarian-tyrranical) ideals. Excellent observation. Shows Your ability to think creatively Kaydon which is what's needed right now, along with compassion and rationality as You say. Spot on 👍 All the best🕊💚

More organizations might not be the way to go. Centralizing things always leans more towards corruption, while decentralizing things leans towards free will. Idk, hope for the best, and I'm glad people are trying to do something good. I just recognize the same steps here that we've seen in every corrupt organization ever. starts with good intentions; people love it, join it, rely on it, and suddenly there's a power structure that psychopaths naturally gravitate into. It's just what happens.

"logical critical thinking". .... I think I'd become a hermit if society became like living in the 1600s again. We" ugly ducklings of society" have a better life than we did back then ......and up until the late 1970s. On the Biblical side, God loves all of us and Jesus taught us that... but humans don't follow that. You see, the "Golden Rule" of all Religions means: treating others the way you want to be treated yourself. Do humans follow this with each other? No. Equally as bad is our disrespect for God when it comes to stewardship of our resources- the Planet that feeds and sustains us. On the science side, it's only common sense that we don't destroy that which sustains us -and the Planet has its limits. God charged us with looking after our Planet, resources, and all of His creation. On many levels, we have failed the simplest tasks He gave us. That's a key reason why we are in a huge mess on so many levels - including the fossil fuel problem. Evidence proves that BIG OIl knew about the harms of C02 emissions in the late 70s to early 80s. If you do your research, you will find that they did everything to prevent forward movement toward "clean" energy. Along that way, most people were brainwashed that fossil fuels are not a problem. Quite simply, greed drove them. So, that prevented the transition to cleaner energy from starting much sooner ie: In the 80s. Today's expensive costs are a result of that greed-driven control by a few that control Big Oil - which we could call "Big Energy". I don't think enough people understand this or the serious consequences. Will humanity go extinct? No...but the suffering will be more than we see today...and there are already signs of food costs increasing partly due to Climate Change. Just check out how many farmers had no vegetable crop in the past few years in the American SW. That's just one small example that's adding to our food costs. I could go on but I think you get my drift. Do your own research. Never listen to biased people or those who don't present all sides of the story. Humans prefer to blame those that try to fix problems as opposed to trying to help come up with solutions. Humans despise change. when it gets "late in the game" it becomes more costly to fix. On the food insecurity side ( Malthusian theory), it's logical that the planet won't be able to feed all of us. It has finite resources and we are limited in our ability to go beyond science to make more food. Sure we could be eating seaweed or meat made from a culture, and insects at some point....but you and I both know that is not what humans will tolerate.

It's a deep and difficult journey that the current development and inspirational inventing mindset is being wasted on health, government, rights ,freedoms , war, economic overlords, and food, climate change. To fix this planet we need to stop the control narrative , use what we have to build better and stronger. Not weak, starving, defenseless, and forced to believe it will help the planet, which has it's own evolutionary cycle we have only barely changed it's past, however does raise questions . It already is. From the dawn of the technological age we have been converging on a host of sustainable solutions for politics, economics, health and education. But numerous conservative institutions have been resisting this emergence into "enlightenment" (if you will), so far so that they have managed to dictate the course of mainstream scientific research for decades in order to protect this authoritarian role they exhibit upon individuals internationally. I won't go into details, because it's a controversial minefield, but it's starting to come together. Communication is too tight knit. The "evidence" for our guidelines and legislations defining the course of society is falling apart, and I think even the busier working class is starting to stick their heads above the water and see it. We may just be finally getting at the crux of the problems; facilitating healthy, demonopolised growth and development for all the people on the globe. It's a change that's within reach. But it means that some powerful people are going to need to make enormous sacrifices in exchange for our freedom. And I think this is slowly becoming an inevitable turn of events in light of the vast collection of incoherent data mediated from authoritative institutions by the media. We gotta build a better future. And it starts at the level of skepticism and mistrust of authority. Change comes from the inside. We've done it before, and we can do it again. Men and women need to start by detaching themselves from a glaringly corrupt socioeconomic system. And it is a very hard thing to do. Most of your best income in the city supports exploitation. As do your daily spendings and even taxes to some extent. So it's a hard cycle to break. But every person has the power to buckle up, make good choices and small savings at a time. The power of the sober people is invaluable at a time like this.

I used to roll my eyes at people nostalgic for the post-war era speaking of how people allegedly took to the streets to protest for their own rights and the rights of others, in ways which simply do not happen any more. Well, I now think they may have had a point. Things have been increasingly quiet for the past several decades. It's settled down almost as if all things are fine. And I'm not about to suggest a conspiracy theory. But while it is unquestionable that criticism towards authority is a _good_ idea, as authorities also instinctively challenge our boundaries, I find the people fighting among themselves far more often, and seldomly engage in dialogue. We don't communicate. Many can't read. We're more mentally ill than ever before. And we retreat to our homes to sit in front of electronic displays to serve us filtered TV shows or video games. We used to meet. Have we autonomously chosen this life, or has it been indirectly fuelled by law-makers and corporations for profit? Manipulation is convenient. In choosing a line of work, in finding a sexual partner, in making friends, in locking trade deals... It's one of the ways in which human civilisation works. I don't think it's controversial to suggest that inviting manipulation, or at least not showing resistance, isn't conducive to true progress. Surely, the greatest success story is one in which everyone wins?

And as the parallel economy evolves, it will become more and more a barter economy, with money playing less of a part than the immediacy of the goods/services rendered. One of the ways I find helps most is getting nutrient-dense food in my local grocery store; wheat germ's a favorite (it's got as much Omega-3 as fish oil!) because it's so affordable. Duck eggs aren't as affordable yet, nor as common, but they're a better bird to raise in cooler climates. Chickens are a junglefowl, native to southeast Asia, not at all suited to New England, where I live, let alone factory farms, where avian flu is most prevalent. Ducks are much hardier and don't mind rain like chickens do. A lot of making that barter economy work involves working with the environment, not fighting against it. ESGs are one of the ways the Deep State gets us to pursue the wrong goals and thus defeat ourselves--such as, chickens are never going to thrive far enough from the Equator. Etc., etc.

Brilliant! Such a sophisticated & brilliant thinker and he conveys ideas in a way that makes them very understandable and tangible without dumbing things down or condescending at all so good! He even made a story from the bible finally make sense & be relatable First time I’ve heard this guy I just followed a link in twitter so glad I did. My only contention with his proposal here is that the system of governance he wants is basically what we had and have but it becomes… what it is. Any organised governance system attracts and creates Tyranny especially when applied on a large scale (such as populations larger than a tribe) because it necessarily involves officialdom, bureaucracy and the granting of certain authorities to certain people which is ALWAYS going to be problematic in populations larger than a tribe where authority is imposed by strangers (sometimes badly and/or by bad people who should not be in authority and would not have been were we still in a trive) which humans rightly cannot stand for the very reason he himself illuminated: because the people who ate guided by good are innately drawn to freedom. So any governance of us by anyone we don’t even know let alone know well & respect enormously, is simply not ever acceptable to us on a bone-deep level. It just can’t, at this stage. I hope I’m wrong because this guy really believes in it and he makes me want to believe it too - and I agreed with so much pf what he said some of which was new to me but the issue of poor governance is not solvable by any form of governance because governance is itself a form of Tyranny. Even God does not intervene! How can any man then have mastery over me and it NOT be a problem when God Himself knows better than to tell me what to do or to punish me punitively or to create and recreate and embellish laws! God’s laws need bot be codified and they are not complicated because they too are bone-deep. No one needs told what God would have us do. Be kind. Be honest. Be forgiving. Be faithful. Be love. Be playful. Be calm. Be grateful. Be considerate, thoughtful, generous. Don’t take yourself too seriously and allow sadness when it visits but never dwell in grief or nostalgia these are bad and painful feelings and do no one any good and are not needed. Have faith that all things will pass and all lives must end but light and energy are eternal and every single atom in the universe that ever was still is and always will be, in one form or another. The problem of human civilisation as I see it is not surmountable by governance because our fall from grace was our departure from nomadic tribal existence into property ‘ownership’ (which by definition was and is always theft) and turning to agriculture (which by definition involves the enslavement and exploitation of animals and the unnatural ‘governance’ of plant life - and which has become increasingly perverse over time such that animals are routinely treated as a matter of course/standard practice with levels of cruelty and barbarity our ancestors would find obscene and unimaginable! Property and agriculture aka ‘stability’ and ‘management of land and resources’ is in essence unnatural and leads inevitably to corruption. God did not say “Do not eat from the tree of knowledge” to be a twat. “He literally meant: eat from the trees and the plants and the many delicious things that I have made for you to find and to come across in all the many places of the land but do not attempt to know how to make them yourself so as to eat from other than that which I have freely provided for it will end badly for only I can have dominion over nature - not because I’m being a bossy boots but seriously guys… it’s a really complex and delicate ecosystem… not to get all technical but basically… you’ll stuff it up. Don’t grow apple trees. Eat from what I have myself made to grow.” … obviously I wasn’t there so I’m paraphrasing but… The problem with governance is that governance is itself the problem. Property. Agriculture. Staying in one place and getting territorial and acquiring more and more possessions and hoarding ‘wealth’… the insane laughability of what that even IS to us.. an ‘economic system’ no more valid than the paper bills in monopoly boxes and increasingly ridiculous with NFT’s now so ‘billionaires’ can trade ‘digital currency’ now instead of the more ‘legitimate hard currency’ of printed paper lol We are addicted to and enmeshed in our own downfall. Our fall from grace is long and who knows how far we’ve yet to fall but I honestly cannot imagine a future where any form of governance is what turns things around because only God can govern and only through personal and intentional connection with Him can we govern ourselves (and any young children we may have) but truly no adult human can be governed by any other human to any extent whatsoever without a fall from grace. It is inevitable. It is in fact God’s will. Freedom is only possible when we each have NO ONE standing between ourselves and God. And for the first time this speaker has made me truly understand how this is itself made clear in the story of exodus. God told the tyrants (those in governance) to let His people go so they could worship Him in the desert. Because even a barren wasteland is better than shelter and regular meals because ‘stability’ ALWAYS requires governance and governance IS tyranny. What we needed to do was be true to our nomadic ways, find more edens but always moving on so as not to over-hunt, over-fish over pick and return to each place at intervals sufficiently long that each eden always remained and no animal went extinct except by acts of God… Being rooted to the spot, hoarding posessions, imposing man’s rule, increasingly paranoid and hostile to new people or ‘outsiders’ (a consequence of living ‘inside’) is what doomed us and I don’t see how there’s any going back. Certainly going back to the same ancient system of governance we started from is… but then again.., we literally CAN’T just be nomads again because our systems of governance plus the fact that all the world’s spaces and resources and water sources have been privatised (stolen) and are no longer freely available and of course people are not free to travel to warmer climes according to season without proper documents permitting them to cross ‘borders’ so there is no being nomadic now no matter how much it was what God intended for us. Being nomadic now means being homeless, starving and often persecuted because no amount of resourcefulness, goodwill or grace can make a nomadic lifestyle ‘permissible’ in our society one way or another. So hopefully this man can pull this thing off and make governance work even though governance IS the very devil and the problem. I doubt it but I have no better solution so I hope I’m wrong

Of all the reasons that make me proud to be Canadian (a lot fewer reasons of late, admittedly), the fact that we've been able to cultivate a mind and spirit like Jordan's is by far the most inspiring. Make no mistake, it is not an easy feat for a society to cultivate genuinely good hearted intellectuals/philosophers. Not only do you need to feel completely safe in your environment, but you'd need to sufficiently increase good-will within society so that one could feel secure in contemplating/exploring the bigger picture without the fear of being left behind in the rat race. In terms of Maslow's hierarchy, to commit your life to the pursuit of discovering and sharing with others the intricacies of the human condition with no other intention but the betterment of humanity...🥲 Lets just say it's a good time to be alive to be able to come along on this journey. Keep it up Dr. Peterson; you are a beacon of the power of righteousness in this world. 🙇🏻‍♂️🙇🏻‍♂️

I want to be a part of that. Thank you so much for this Jordan, what a great and pro active idea to resist the woke culture that is so prevalent in the society. I have been listening to The Daily Wire for a while now, and while I agree with what they say and stand for, and that, in conjunction with the biblical worldview I have from being a Proud Christian, I have felt there has to be something more that can be done: something that everyday people can get behind. The time has come and gone where simply listening to KZbin video after KZbin video at nauseum about whats wrong with the world isn't enough, its time for us to get some structure behind something and together figure out how we fix the mess that has been made, because this was not the plan God had for any of us. The people who know better have been silent for too long and allowed the village idiots to run amok and be put in positions they were never supposed to be in, before I start ranting. Thank You Sir I have signed up to the mailing list.

Stumbled across Dr Peterson's KZbin clips a day or two ago: engrossing; stimulating; revolutionary; uplifting; informative; humbling. Will be celebrating my 76th orbit of the sun next month, and wrt An Invitation to the Future, I see two fundamental blind spots in his vision: Throughout history there have been many equally, (if not greater) altruists/ philosophers /mystics, and the world is still 'in a mess'; a significant portion of humanity accept the believe in chaurasi (the wheel of eighty four/ an eye for an eye). The goings on in the world is perfect in its imperfections.
