Sabrina made her sound so rude and sassy! It made Ann one of my favorites bad guys in the DiC dub, just because she made the role so fun to watch. I was SO disappointed when the Viz dub cast a more sweet sounding voice with less smartass dialogue. I'm sure it's probably more accurate but this is practically the few times I think DiC did something really right.

While I'm not a big fan of either voice, I do find Sabrina to be more appealing for the same reasons you stated.

I could not agree with you more! while the dialogue in the DIC dub as whole leaves A LOT to be desired Sabrina's voice and attitude was perfect! she really made Anne seem like a total Bitch and I LIVE FOR IT!!!!!! Dorothy is just way too soft to be believable in this role at all. Yes the Viz Translation on paper is far better across the board but there are a hand full of voices in DIC that just make most of the Viz voices sound like a youtube fan dub and i just cant get past it.

I hate the Viz dub, 90s Series! I prefer 90s Dub, Sailor Moon crystal is Better! Im so angry about that they did not show eternal inner senshi transformtion & attack, michiru, Setsuna, Haruka are not in high school uniform, hotaru is not in Chibi-Usa School, the 90s Version is Sucks! 👎

@@adriaanvanderberg4006 I agree. Viz's dub is underwhelming a lot of the time. It's adequate at best and the voice actors are typically good, but the voice direction and scripts were surprisingly dull in the translation in ways the original wasn't.

Sabrina did an amazing job and I love the sass she gave the character. Dorothy sounded too sweet in the beginning, but later in the dub it actually sounded good.

Yes I agree. Dorothy’s voice sounds more suited for being a southern belle than for a lovestruck alien. It’s too soft, not enough attitude

Viz did a pretty good job of voice matching for this one (yes I know they're all specially picked but some aren't as close as others). I like all the voice actresses~ Keep up the great work!

Ardin Anester I'm aware, but just because they were picked by her doesn't mean they matched the Japanese version, it was just the one she was most comfortable with. Whether she just liked their voices or they were close is unknown.

The absolute best Ann was KrisRix from Sailor Moon Abridged, who made her sound like a hot Russian bombshell. But as for official English dubs, I think this is one of the few times the DiC version tops the Viz version. She just sounds too fluffy and nice most of the time in the Viz dub, but subtly sinister in the DiC one.

I think Kirsten Bishop was used slightly more. She was (in the DiC dub) Zoycite, Emerald, Kaorinite and the villain from the 3rd movie as well as the odd monster. Love both of them though.

Her Pluto was only in like 2 episodes and the two movies. Her Liz was only in one episode. Anne was her most significant role in the 90s dub. Not really a go too

Sabrina's Ann was hilariously bitchy and sassy, which I liked. Dorothy was decent casting, but this is one of the occasions I actually prefer DiC's casting. Though I will say Dorothy did well on the deceptively-sweet personality.
