Putting oil in your pasta water, is a "no no" ! it may help your pasta to keep from sticking, but it will also keep anything from absorbing into the pasta. You don't need oil. Frequent stirring will keep your pasta from sticking ! Forgo the oil. Your pasta dish will turn out much better without it ! You want your pasta to absorb all the goodness from the sauce you have made.

Thanks for sharing this recipe! Don't mind the critics, if people don't like using a specific ingredient they can omit it. It's your recipe and you should continue making it your way! This is NOT an Italian pasta dish! Besides, why always add eggs? I’ll do the ground meat, onions, garlic , maybe add broccoli or black olives & pasta sauce. I only like my eggs scrambled or in an omelette! Plenty of chess is good, maybe at the end add some crushed garlic croutons!

@@beverly5458 Microplane makes one almost the same. It's about 20% bigger and black + S.S. I use the wand type Microplanes more often and those come in half length version in fine zest, medium cheese and special for chocolate. Colors or full length in white hombre or black marble. They look really sharp and are.) Plus there is a ring/'cup' style purportedly for nutmeg but I hate it as it makes nutmeg dust and the taste gets lost. Better is an old style all steel nutmeg grater or the nutmeg (fine side) of standard box graters. Those are the same burr.) I looked at hundreds of box graters and read dozens of reviews and bought the best and reasonable OXO soft grip. About $25? There are so many designs. Thre are things from another century that look like a UFO landing on Alcatraz or something. Strange. Awkward probably. And most are putting on airs to charge crazy high prices but are no better as essentially it's just punched and folded sheet metal after all. OXO has a lesser grade box grater for cheaper but the 'Soft Grip' with sturdy white handle and detachable storage container with lid is so excellent, I would just get it.

@@carole4119, yes, critiquing is fine and can be very helpful. But making harsh or angry statements that sound like they think other people are idiots for using oil in the water is only off putting and not helpful at all-especially if using oil has never been an issue for them. There are ways for commenters to suggest/say something to kindly convince another person to try it their way! Talking down to others is not helpful, and it certainly doesn't work with me! And to be clear, I'm speaking of other comments, not yours. 🌹

That's a great recipe! I think I could make it and I'm not the best cook 😂😂😂. Also great tip soaking the purple onion because they are really strong. Everything looks yummy and I can't wait to try it. Thanks for sharing❤

Never put oil in the water! If you don’t want your pasta to stick, make sure there’s enough room and water in the pot …and buy better pasta

I think it needs cheese in the layers, such as ricotta, like a lasagna would have. And, yes, it needs some tomato sauce or something! And i just ate a salad kind of like that this evening!!!

Some people believe if it's not drowning in some kind of fattening/sweetened sauce it's considered "dry" lol! The cheese alone will let out enough oil to not make it dry
