I swear its always the same exact kind of people. "But its no different from black people calling each other the N word." Someone called their buddy the N word as a casual greeting. the thing about the R slur is that the medical diagnosis using that word was applied to people with significantly more impairment than a lot of the autistic people online who use it, and the people it actually applied to usually are advocating for not using it at all. so a lot of the people online who claim to be able to "reclaim" it (which, it's not reclaiming to continue to use it as an insult against others who don't also use it, that's just continuing to use it as a slur) aren't even actually a part of the group most affected by it's use. they think that being called it as a kid or whatever means it's okay for them to use now, when- for example- no one is arguing it's okay for a straight man to use the F slur, even though that's a common one kids bully each other with too.

@starbird3939 Sadly, the movie I referenced is lost (though a "novelization"--really, a short story adaptation in an old newspaper still exists, as do two production stills), but there are plenty of old films to enjoy. That's partially why I suppose I don't fully understand the modern review community...too many waste their time on things that they have good reason to believe they will despise, but their clicks, views, and ticket purchases just feed the machine that keeps producing the things they say they hate. There is a whole galaxy of legitimate movies extending backwards, and at this point, a dedicated person will never run out of gems to find (especially when looking at global cinema). We don't have unlimited time here, and we can't get more once it's spent. Why spend it on aggravation?

I agree with this completely! I see quite a bit of people who like to paint Lio as an irredeemable or even malicious person when the truth is far from that... (This is coming from someone who's first exposure to Lio was a critical video of him.) I don't blame others for having an inherent mistrust on him, especially after the rosa call, but to say he is a bad person is an exaggeration. At most, he is flawed but at the very least willing to discuss and resolve things.

As someone who used to be Mr Diaz's friend for nearly 10 years, i'll be blunt: He's NOT going to improve. I've seen this guy fall into his own destructive fits of rage since way back before the #SaveKeyframe campaign, which is when we became friends, and i honestly thought he could truly achieve redemption and be successful in his community. But the sad truth is, that ever since then, he kept falling into drama after drama, the most notable being the impact his Last Jedi review left on the internet. And i ask you all: if he couldn't control his hate boner from making burner accounts TWICE... *what do you think will happen sooner or later?* He may have the right to express himself however he pleases. I also grieve over the loss of his parents. I'm just not supporting him, period.

I feel Diaz's biggest issue is that he constantly feeds the trolls, gives in to his hatred, and doesn't heed his friend's advice (Both former and current). Not everyone in the internet is going to like you. there are going to be those who dislike you to a degree. He'd rather engage with these people than just blocking them and move on. Diaz keeps letting in this negative energy that doesn't need to be there. It's like pounding your head against the brick wall each time you guys tell him, "Just block them and move on."

My biggest thing about Diaz's reviews is the fact that he would attack people for not agreeing with his opinion. While I won't deny, some things, like Cuties, are very bad. However, the shit like Star Wars is just....baffling. Like....people are allowed to like things that you don't. They're allowed to find entertainment in things that you don't. Like, for example, as a Pokemon fan, I dislike the Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl games. I think they're bad remakes of games that were the first games I ever had growing up that weren't handed down from my sister. However, just because I don't like the games doesn't mean that I'm gonna call someone the r-slur for liking the games. If they find entertainment in the games, then good for them. They're allowed to do that. While people harassing Diaz are wrong to do so, Diaz can't just go around treating all of his reviews as 100% objective fact and anyone who disagrees with him deserve to be shouted down and harassed themselves over the fact they enjoy something he thinks is bad.

I remember I was in your server, and you, me, yours mods, and your viewers were watching this video in the JARmageddon chat room. It was “interesting” to watch, but it was definitely heart breaking hearing that he lost his mother, and my heart goes out to Diaz. I do fear he will not listen, but I’m hoping to be wrong in some way. But, to hear him calling you an evil POS is not something I wanted to hear from him. I’ve agreed with some of your contractors that talked about you, your server, and the people in it, and I still do agree with them, but Diaz is definitely one to talk given what he has done. I do hope things change for the better with this, especially in this year, and pray that Diaz doesn’t give in his anger and changes his ways. I can’t be too hopeful, but I do want to be a little.

Before Diaz deleted his Zaid Magenta channel he had a call with me on discord to Discuss what happened after he was kicked from Senate. I told him in that call that he should just give up on the hatedom video and focus more on his own, Telling him that the people he was going after weren't worth the trouble and it would only end in disaster for him. I thought he would take I said to heart but after everything that went down he didn't, and most likely never will. I'm not going to lie it's very disheartening to see him go down this route, he's really changing for the worse and is now embracing the worst expects about himself that he really shouldn't have. I honestly considered him to be a friend and I wanted him to change for the better, Instead he decided that his anger and crusade towards against his detractors was more important than his friendships. It's infuriating how he keeps going off and on about how these people are obsessed with him yet he falls into the same pitfalls as them. If Robert Hayden is able to move on with his life and not fall back into that behaviour again, then why can't Diaz do the same? At this point I have no hope for him and I am just about done with him. As I said in my last comment on Lio's previous video on you Diaz "None of this would have happened if you had just stopped"

The thing with Zaid/Diaz is that he does make valid points, like with Cuties and the gross behavior and abuse exploited and how Disney has been damaging their IP. However, he liters his videos with slurs, insults and anger which damages his arguments. He made really vaild arguments with the issues with the new Snow White trailor and the very insulting remarks over the Disney classic, then he completely ruined it by insulting one of the actresses with a vile slur. See what I mean? If this was in a debate he would have been given warnings and his mic turned off and possibly disqualified/automatic fortfeit. He's... frustrating. He keeps shooting himself in the foot and blowing up relationships around him because he doesn't think things through. Its saddening.

He does very much care about the safety of children being abused. His Cuties videos very much articulate the horror of this. The people defending it, those trying to excuse companies sweeping it under the rug because they're afraid of the animation they like possibly getting canned, to those profiting from the abuse. This sadly gets drowned out by the anger and drama he gets into and drama he gets in with trolls on the internet antagonize him. All of that gets swamped up by it. I do think deep down he is good, he just chooses his rage over continuing the good he can do.

Zaid, Anthro, Diaz. However you want to be addressed, if you happen to read this, please note I am saying this out of concern and someone who has been around people with genuine mental health issues. Especially anger issues. I'm going to be firm and hope you understand what you are doing is wrong. I get you want to move on and have people leave you alone. But we all have to deal with the fact that someone, somewhere, out there in the world that someone hates you. There's really nothing you can do about it. Its not fun, and a lot of people understand that. But you can't just keep attacking them because you're angry. Being angry and bottling things up not only hurts you, but it hurts the people around you. People who actually want to see you be better, mentally well and sound, and being a good person. Diaz, I think you need to seek anger management classes. This whole thing with your haters is clearly effecting you in such a way that its going to unplug you from the senses when you get older. No one wants to see that. I am no doctor, psychologist, or therapist. But you really need to see a doctor about these issues and perhaps you have an under lining condition that needs to be addressed and perhaps help you move on. While I also understand reviews are your passion, but you need to take a step back and realize you are pouring out very toxic videos that might reach a younger audience. Legit, Diaz. If you have such a problem with haters and such, then you shouldn't be posting anything. If you can't handle the heat, then you shouldn't be making videos in the first place. We're in a new year. Dropping the R word is so 2010. This is 2025. And not gonna lie, that's going to get you in some serious trouble. Please, read my post carefully. And for the love of Athena, please seek anger management classes.

Regardless of how you were treated in Diaz's video, the fact that you took time to do an open letter video to him, shows that you have a lot of character in a good way. Nobody made you do this, it was out of your volition and it shows that you do genuinely care about someone, even if they have had their issues. This shows how far you've come after everything that has happened to you personally over the last year. It's really commendable. I too hope Diaz takes something from this video. Though if he doesn't, then that's on him. At least we know you tried to help him, despite all the negativity that has happened recently. That drawing of Optimus Prime from Cybertron was very well done. :) Excellent job on the details and the colouring there. :)

Hi, how ya doin folks, one of the "harassers" who got shown in Diaz's video. Yeah, um...I think the only think I did that might be accurate to the way other people treated him is the fact that I made a multi-hour long video on him? But I was also covering a multi-hour long video and playing clips of him to contextualize my points (which is the norm for my content style). This is not the first time he's put me in the same basket as the people harassing him for no actual reason, including implying I've said things that I actively stated the opposite of when they came up in my video to try and ensure what I was saying could not be misconstrued as harassment. Honestly, part of the reason I wouldn't is because (and Lio can attest to me saying this if he wants) what he said about Lio is way worse and far more worth calling attention to, how he's handled working with JAR is far worse, all of the other signs in this video that nothing has changed are way more important than the implication he might go after someone who can defend himself just fine if it actually happens in more than just a visual potshot.

I know this isn't the most important issue here, but Diaz's claim he wants to make reviews out of passion feels so disconnected from the actual content he makes. Reviewing just seems to be another outlet for his hatred; he's the single best example of what destructive criticism looks like. Granted, I'd rather Diaz take his rage out on fictional characters than real people, but when his reviews do frequently target writers + fans and parrot anti-woke rhetoric (read: excuses to bully minorities) I can't even give that benefit of the doubt. Most of the time he treats reviews as a fight to prove his superiority rather than a nuanced discussion - the fact Diaz still insists opinions can be "objectively wrong" is a prime example of this. If Diaz wants to express that media analysis matters, why not go over media he loves? Why not cover the pieces that inspire him? I don't think I've ever seen him talk about what he enjoys in stories except as a comparison to further insult what he doesn't. That's not to say negativity doesn't have a place. Critical reviews can be very important, but they only work when they come from a place of deconstruction, of showing why the pieces don't work together instead of ripping everything to shreds. Otherwise you're not a reviewer, just an asshole.

I'll be honest, I have a hard time believing Diaz. He has openly admitted that he's used alt accounts before, so who's to say he won't do it again. I do feel sorry that he's lost both parents. That's really awful to go through, and no one should go through that. It still doesn't excuse his behavior and actions. Lio, i believe that you letting him go from your life. What you said in the premiere trailer is very agreeable but I think this is something everyone should think about. Hate infects everything like Las Plagas. It makes you do things you wouldn't do otherwise. The problem is social media is engineered to make it the most enticing form of communication. it's instant gratification, you get views and attention easily by deriding someone. Talking to people is extremely difficult for autistic people like me and Diaz. Especially when you have anxiety or depression. Always thinking about how the other person sees you, whether you're being annoying and secretly hated. Then a hater comments something dumb and suddenly *it all goes away*. It's a two way street, both being confident about their morals and beliefs. It's human connection we long for and suddenly we can easily attain it. Self hatred and low self esteem paralyses people, while our strong convictions make us defend what we feel is right. Why try and create comradery that might fail when a culture war or heated argument can easily get you noticed. Even as you give him this advice I can go straight to your twitter account arguing with a troll. I hope the full video goes into this because it's something that is slowly destroying society in my opinion. I think people harass others once they have entered the "given up" phase. Bitterness eats you alive as you try your best but see the worst people continue to be awarded for their awful behavior. You "give up" on your ideal self and world and lower yourself to their standards. Suddenly you're sending death threats to people also sending you death threats because of stupid Star Wars debates, or more serious matters. Whether you think everyone is lying or think defense is your only way to be seen, never fall into the "given up" phase. We all need to get away from the downward spiral and believe in a world and self that matters. Lest we all become hateful for the meaningless.

I find it so annoying how Diaz is kinda making himself out as the only person who is passionate about movies, television and video games to the point of wanting to look at them for a critical lense. Dude, you are far from the only person to indulge in media like that. People have been looking at media critically since it began. Sure, there is a toxic positivity problem within these spaces but it's not as bad as he's making it out to be. I got introduced to Lio from the predator hunting stuff, then I watched Kumo's content and had a worse opininon of him. After the situation with Peaches I can tell Lio has been making actual efforts to become a better person. Being cordial with Guilded Poo was the most obvious sign of that for me alongside condeming his own past actions. That being said I'm not a fan of how Diaz sorta threw you under the bus so hard with that call. He's acting like he can lightly address his own issues but then has to go extra hard to show everyone that he isn't a bad guy despite being in there. If you were active in call you have no business painting everyone else as monsters because you were equally as compromised as everyone in there. I also dislike him listing all the worse things people have done. It's just the "There are more important things to worry about" argument. Lastly we still hear Diaz's anger spilling out in this video which is a shame.

Real question. I am thinking of getting into media reviews myself, and I d owant to critique the upcoming Snow White movie, because I feel that the way the changes were made by Disney, E.G. the race of Snow White causing confusion about why she has the name Show White, or else how attacking fans of the 1937 movie was not a wise move by Rachel Zegler or others. When it comes to you two, it's like watching the two separate endings of the Honest Hearts DLC in Fallout New Vegas. You Lio, are the Joshua Graham that recognized what he did was wrong. That it needed to cease. You seek to do better, be better, and continue to do so. Giving yourself and others true grace, even if sometimes they may need to be talked down from foolishness themselves. As for Zaid/Diaz...they are the Joshua Graham that has left the Legion, been burned by the mistakes, and yet despite being given grace, cannot give it themselves. He is the Joshua Graham who wants the White Legs dead. And I fear no Courier could save him from himself now. I see and fear only two paths for him now should he continue as he seems to be. One will be as the ending of the DLC where Joshua kills Salt Upon Wounds, becoming everything he despises and then some. Regressing into a past he thought had been purified by fire and ash. The other, may be more like the Dust mod of Fallout New Vegas. In which Joshua becomes one of the many eradiated creatures of the wastes due to having to traverse the taboo caves on his own in the end. Everyone in Zion dies by his hand in this mod, and all you find of him, is the hungry, volatile, shell of a being he now is. I truly hope the best for the man, but that's really all I or anyone can do now. For he has already demonstrated he won't heed anyone anymore. A sad and tragic state of affairs, and just a disappointing and worrying prospect.

I only have surface level knowledge of who Zaid is and his lore but I will say this: I feel his biggest issue is how he presents his opinions and fights his critics. I said this in the server yesterday but I feel it bears repeating here: There are folks who aren't offended by the content of a message but rather how it's delivered. If the verbiage he used in the original video you're responding to is any indication of his general online discourse, that only serves to prove my point. I don't disagree with his takes, in fact there's some I agree with, but I don't agree with his idea that anyone who likes what I don't is another mindless Twitter NPC. If you're going to engage in online content creation, one of the first rules is knowing not everyone's gonna like what you do, or in this case, not everyone is gonna agree with your takes. Learning how to take criticism and put it to work is becoming a lost art but I'd like to think you Lio are one of the folks who was in a similar situation and actually took effort to improve yourself. The best thing to do when you get a bunch of haters is to ignore them unless they actually come at you in an illegal way. Because if you just go after them for any little slight, they will just egg you on and on and on. It is also unfair to lump all criticisms with haters. This is something I have said to Anita Sarkeesian, that while the harassment she got was so aweful that it made me sick, that doesn't mean that she is above critique, and that she shouldn't lump critics in with harassers. I find it ironic that DIaz is doing the exact thing he himself would criticize Anita Sarkeesian fore, and if I criticize Anita for doing it then I have to criticize even those I generally like like Diaz for it. I don't know his full history nor do I give a damn, if he makes something I like, then I like it, a broken clock is right twice a day. I feel like noble intentions as the scripture you shared near the beginning would suggest don't quite fall in line with what the bible teaches. Matthew 18:15 outlines the procedure regarding the sins of others and how they should be addressed. I'm not in the know of whether or not you reached to Diaz prior to this, but airing out his rant and publicly responding sounds counter to the principles of sparing others shame if possible. And if Diaz doesn't listen despite your best efforts, it'd probably be better to not engage with him again in the future.
