I was fishing on the canal two nights ago and watched an otter fish. About 1am. No pooh, just the otter! The otter was indeed very shy and swam off as soon as he noticed me. Brilliant to see.

Great idea but doesn't actually show what an otter spraint looks like! I'm guessing (but not everyone else would) that spraint is a dropping but my chances of identifying one for myself are hardly helped when all the video shows is a bloke leaning over a block of stone under a bridge; How do I tell whether that small blob to which he is apparently referring is not left by a duck or other waterbird?
