An overheated engine but I still caught the CN on a very hot day! 6/18/24

Our first really hot day and I was determined to follow the CN as far as I could since it had been two weeks since I had shot any footage! My car had other plans and just as I pulled into the Spurr River the engine light went on and the ac was turned off automatically. I didn't think it was that hot but apparently it was! Then my phone overheated-so that pretty much ended my travels for the day-I was actually happy to arrive home when I finally did several hours later. A couple of new angles made this shoot a little more interesting and I hope to go further Thursday to make up for losing today's adventures! I will take the cold any day over the heat! I know downstate they are really getting hit hard!

It is wonderful to have you back Nancy! That was a long train that the L'Anse Local brought into L'Anse, Michigan and took to the Koppers plant for disposal. The train that they brought out of L'Anse had fewer cars as it passed along the Spur River at the end of the video.

The engines are in Summit and I don't know what tomorrow will bring-hoping they get the ballast spread where it washed away!

I am so happy to be back but just found out the train is in Summit. L'Anse Hill took a beating from the thunder storm Tuesday night! So no train today!

Nance, my internet was down off and on for the last month and it just seems like it was down whenever I went to go online. I watched on my phone, but my fingers don't do so well typing on a teeny tiny little itty bitty keyboard. IT'S TOO HARD. Aslo Too I watched while I was driving back from the house I have over by Imlay City, so this is the 2nd time. Don't worry, it was about 1am and I was the onlyest car on the road besides the continuous parade of 18 wheelers, one about every 5 miles and they're easy to dodge. Ha. I thought at the time, I miss the caboose. I am old now and I'd like to think the workers have a place with AC Heat and coffee to stop and take a break in. Remember you visited an old dilapidated caboose in the woods that I said I thought looked like it was probably a deer hunt camp? I got the idea from some really old-timers who bought a sliver of property near my family owned cabin in Big Bay. They just plopped a semi trailer on it right by the Sullivan Creek Road and put a door in the middle of the side with steps. Sadly they were only around for about 4 years. It has since completely rotted and become completely flattened to the ground from all the snow. Just my idea of a nice place to take a break in Fine Business Lady, Thak You! . ben/ michigan from under the bridge

Hi Ben. Imlay City used to have the best bakery ever. Their donuts and all their baked goods were out of this world!! It was called Rankins. The girls showed their animals at the Imlay City Fair. I have many memories of living in Lapeer and lastly Metamora. 😁😁😁
