Teddy is spot on with Certina. I have a few "higher class" watches, but my Certina DS divers watch is the one I regularly go for. Once you overcome watch snobbery, you will love this brand. They offer unbelievable value for money. They are a great watch brand that turn out fantastic pieces.

I agree. Got the PH 500 a month ago, and love it. The style, the history, the way it feels. Currently I am considering the next one to be the DS-2 in silver with bracelet...although I have to by the bracelet seperat.

I bought one of these last year, and also got the female version for my wife. That version has a white dial, diamonds as markers and a beige NATO strap. I swapped out her NATO for a white crocodile Hirsch strap and she loves it. These watches go well with jeans or with more formal wear. I’ve found they make you less of a “target” in London when out than having a Rolex or prestige branded Watch. Of course, if you’re not planning on being on public transport it’s not an issue, but friends of mine have had to surrender their watches at knifepoint. Knife crime in London is massive. Losing an £800 watch isn’t the same as losing a top class watch which even if insurance pays out, you struggle to replace. The PH200M looks great and I’ve found loses only a few seconds a day, something I can’t say for my Sub!

I own the real vintage one - with aluminum bezel and red seconds hand. Just stunning. My favorite in whole collection. So versatile on different straps and bracelets. Highly recommended!

Great review. I'm glad you're able to review Certina now and show their watches to a bigger public on KZbin. It's one of if not my favorite watchbrand and they offer a lot for the money. Teddy, as usual, is absolutely correct regarding the Certina DS diver. I have the exact same watch and it is become a regular in my rotation. I was in Europe early this year and I did see the Certina brand just about everywhere. As others have said, it's a great watch for the money.

Very cool watch! Little bit surprising here is the exhibition case back, as other divers does not have it. Like DS Action Diver or DS Super PH500M. I have a feeling that real divers people prefer to have full covered case back.

I thought this watch had a red seconds hand? I saw that version online and it looks better than the all white hands. Edit: Apparently the model with the red seconds hand is a cheaper version with a Hesalite crystal. I think it looks better than this model but it seems it's not for sale in the US.

Not a fan of this specific version, the original/remake looks much better with the red cross hair and red second hand/flat bezel - if they’d have just made that model in a smaller size I’d still own it and likely never needed another diver - but they didn’t, so I do.

I have another of their divers - DS Action Diver bought in 2019. A year ago I was swimming in Mediterranean and bezel fell off in the sea. I sent it to the service and they quoted 271£ for a watch worth 550£. This was because the watch apparently required a full service due to some rubbish found in movement and oxidation of the hands. I'd say this is a very poor execution of a watch that's supposedly ISO certified. I wouldn't buy again and wouldn't recommend. The only good thing I can say is it keeps the time better than my Tudor 41.

I love the look of the domed ceramic bezel. It really dresses up the watch. But the thing that keeps this watch off of my wish list is the minute markers. They make the dial and bezel way too busy. Designers could really pare them down, and legibility would still be just as good or better. Better yet, omit them after 15 on the bezel.

I love and hate this watch. Bought the remake 2018 and then the 2020 pvd version. Fantastic watches! But i still had to buy the Addiesdive ad2105 to scratch that itch... Seiko 4R to Powermatic 80.... Paying for a movement or a brand name at this price point is ridiculous as it´it all close to basic... Go for aesthetics and something you like and love!
