I just got a copy of this and can't wait to start it. If you haven't already seen, the book also has an animated cover if you view it through Google Lens on your phone, which I think is really cool.

I’m in the “enjoyed it but didn’t love it” camp. I heard that the last book in the trilogy absolutely nails it though.

I polite reply just finished this book last night lol I had some issues with the pacing…. I gave it 3.5 ⭐️ overall. The beginning wasn’t very interesting to me until she gets to that city and then I felt like her “memories” when recounting her past were sort of info dumpy and sometimes lasted too long and could have been shorter but I liked the characters and I’m intrigued by the ending and how that will play out and I have high hopes for the second one

I definitely have this on my TBR, i've read the first couple chapters in a sample and it's like you said, not difficult to get into and the perspective of how it starts is so interesting.
