Okay,wasn't all kingdom were doing same thing like fighting with other kingdom and conquering the other land in that times. Nepalese did not invaded sikkim .king of Sikkim and king of Gorkha were trying to conquer eachother kingdom so gorkha kingdom conquered most part of Present day Darjeeling because they were more strong ( gorkha for a reason)maybe later Britishers started to used that place by doing some agreement with Nepal gvt and after Independence no country wanted to take that land even pakistan hosted their flag for some days but Gorkha community replaced it with Indian flag since then Darjeeling became a part of India and it was merged with Bengal for 90 years or some years but they are fighting still fighting to separate Darjeeling from bengal and form a separate state because they feel opressed in bengal and according to them though from Darjeeling gvt earn large amount but in return they get nothing no proper hospital, no universities, no good wages for tea garden worker, no maintenance of roads, no employment.
@nischal18482 ай бұрын
@@kdkp2000 Nope it was always part of Sikkim, they invaded and conquered for a time but during the political turmoil in Nepal due to change in kingship, sikkim won it back but when sikkim started to expand more towards the west they retaliated back and almost conquered all of sikkim but that's when Britishers come in and and pushed back the Gorkhas and made them sign a treaty and sikkim allowed Britishers to use Darjeeling as their summer capital but Britishers annexed it as a part of East India Company and later annexed it to Bengal, this is just a rough history but there are many nuances to this, but people of Darjeeling are not fighting for development they are fighting for their identity as Indian Gorkhas in India because there is so much difference between bengal and the north we feel as if we are a colony of Bengal even after our country has gained Independence.

Of course not. They're Indians of Nepali origin. They identify as Indian but the rest of India has alienated and punched down on NE indians for decades, calling them Nepali or Chinese, anything but Indian. That has happened for a reason, and the reason is that they do not fit into the typical mould of what an Indian is like. Oh, but say a place doesn't feel like your typical Indian city now, it's time to get offended. India has three broad and very diverse geographies which have hardly anything in common. Wherein ethnicity, topography, language and even religion differ from each other. Himalayan states + the north east is the first. North india exept himalayan states the second and south india the third. These three divisions have almost zero similarity. Every time a foreigner says "It doesn't feel like India" , gets to me ! Just look at the map of India. It's geographically and ethnically, one of the most diverse nations on Earth. Do you know that each state in India was carved out linguistically ? There are 22 official languages and over 1500 languages spoken in India.
@sjnmhn2 ай бұрын
India means basically means mainland india, the seven sister states in north east after "chicken neck" of siliguri is completely different india cut off from Aryan race to Mongolian race~~ Culturally, historically and linguistically more relatable to Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet and Burma!!

@kickassguy7042 ай бұрын
Naah, it’s no different. The states of Himachal, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and North Bengal share many similarities in culture eg. a lot of Nepalese and Tibetan people live here. It’s not just restricted to the city of Darjeeling. Moreover, in these states the Nepalese have been residing for thousands of years and have a shared culture. Tibetans too have been residing but their number has increased a lot in the past century (due to annexation of Tibet by China and migration of Tibetans to India in large numbers). Also, it’s not smog. There is very little to no crop burning in the Eastern and Southern India. Crop burning in practiced only in few states like Punjab in Western India. What you see is pure fog (though there might be some dust particles due to vehicles/construction etc. but not crop burning).
@exchangeyo2 ай бұрын
Exactly right, it isn't smog but simply fog and mist and all because they visited in the wrong month. Having been born and brought up in Darjeeling for 18 years I have never heard of crop burning being the cause of the mountains not being visible. Even Gabriel traveller spread some misinformation on crop burning when he didn't get to see the mountains on his visit but again he visited in the wrong month. If travellers take the time to do some research and visit the region in the right months then they get to see the beautiful mountains with clear blue skies almost every day.
@willandmaddie2 ай бұрын
We were told it was smog and not fog from the burning on a few different occasions by locals, which is why we mention it in the video. Of course we're happy to be corrected! Thanks for watching!
