Borrego is a place where you can spend a lifetime exploring and not see it all. Just left there around the end of October and already looking forward to the next trip. If you didn't know, take a look on the walls of those canyons and you'll see rubber up on the walls showing where the wash used to be. And that's what mega challenging about there - each trail changes - sometimes a little, some a lot - each time it rains, snows, etc. Just never know what you're gonna encounter. Great video, cheers!

to get to the mud caves you need to take Arroyo Tapiado rd, and walk in and out the caves as you are going thru the trail. is not one big long cave is a couple of short caves that you have to walk thru them.

I prefer “Bacon with a side of oatmeal”. Bacon is always my main course 😂. Bein Southern I’d also switch the oatmeal for grits. But to each their own. Always a good time out in Anza Borrego. Nice video.

Your in state park and can not build a fire on the ground. I know I grew up in the Imperial Valley and have drove all over that desert for years
@ralphjones61659 ай бұрын
Agree. So sad. Was enjoying this video, then boom! That fire. Love this park and hate what some people do to ruin it.

You can test if eggs are ok. You put each in the water, if it floats, it's rotten. If it stays on the bottom, its OK.

Toyota does have a kit for a second battery under the hood. As I mentioned in a past video of of yours you can use that second battery as both a starting battery and through the use of an isolator use it to power other camping devices. The great thing is you can charge the second battery with your alternator. Its just a suggestion. Thanks for the link to the down blanket. It looks nice . Regards from Ody Slim

I have a 2nd battery behind my seat in my 15 Tacoma. I can run my fridge 4 days without starting the vehicle. Highly recommend that space for a battery.

The battery I chose is a bit too big for that spot though. However I just installed the DC to DC charger today so now I’m good to go 👍
@Tacoexplorer2 жыл бұрын
@@alpinetactics I got a group 31 back there and made a custom mount. I don’t think you can go bigger than that. Also have a redarc dc charger as well. Love this combo but the battery weighs 75 lbs. that’s the only negative. I’m in OC I think you are too. Welcome to check it out.

Awesome have fun! I recomend it. You could download an app like on x offroad, download some offiline maps of the area and just use your phone. Most of the trails I talk about it this video are easily found on that app

Grateful for this video. Exceptionally well done. Headed there for this holiday week and appreciate the trail guides as I plot my course. Planning for most of the same trails you traveled. What trail were you on that you pitched camp?

Do you remember what campsite this was ? It’s obviously primitive - or was it just a random spot on the side of the road?

It was just off a side trail along the fish creek wash

Would a prerunner make it out there? How difficult?
@alpinetactics2 жыл бұрын
Personally I wouldn’t take a 2WD but I’m sure plenty of people do it. If you take the exact route we did there are two places I think you would want 4WD. I’m not the right person to say weather it’s necessary or not though.

Will 2wd make it out there?

Depending on trail conditions it’s possible. I have seen plenty out there in good trail conditions

@alpinetactics2 жыл бұрын
I personally wouldn’t do it without 4x4 especially if your planning on doing the same route we took on our trip however I’m sure there are plenty of people that have don’t it in a 2WD atleast maybe coming in from another way
@oldrango8832 жыл бұрын
I do it in 2x4 even though our Durango is 4x4. I like seeing how far she will go in 2x only. However I now have a lunchbox locker so that’s doing a lot of the work to keep it in 2x.
