Love it! Took the kids for a day trip last spring and am so looking forward to camping there this year!

I'm from Alpine, Ca and Anza Borrego and the Yuha desert are my places I hang out the most. Very good video BTW! Cheers!

The wind! THE WIND! We packed up and and left early after a windy, sleepless night just today! Haha! The comforts of home!

I was born and raised in hemet in the 70s and 80s. We went thru that area alot growing up. Back in the 80s it was 4 wheelers though.

One reason why this trip is best done south to north is because the Diablo Drop-off is supposed to be one way only, downhill. Four wheelers going up the drop-off is what digs the deep ruts, probably annoys the park service.
@OverlandTrailGuides2 жыл бұрын
You’re 100% right. We specifically call this out in the route guide on our website and it was a mistake in our part. Technically, there are three sections that are uni-directional: Diablo drop-off, Borrego Mountain wash drop off, and volcanic hills near pipeline slot.

@@OverlandTrailGuides But I also should have said, overall it was a very nice video, enjoyed watching it.

Agreed. Great video, but I would suggest editing to add a text overlay that calls out the one-way as some people who watch may not read the comments or visit your website.

Has anyone been to AB since the flooding earlier this year? Wondering what the roads are like these days.

I was there a few weeks ago and conditions were good. I did the portion of this route from Hollywood and Vine over to Diablo to Fish Creek and out to the Palisades.

I have a great idea - I should start an overlanding channel and film the most common Anza trails like 1000 other youtubers.

Loved your video. A group of us is heading down there on May,15,3023. Any chance you could give me a more detailed trip itinerary from south to north. We’re driving from Monterey county.

Great coverage of your run. We've been off-roading throughout Borrego, Ocotillo Wells for many years. We also frequent The Yuha Desert due south of Plaster City & south of I-8, "The Superstition Mountains" N'East of El Centro and Truck Haven, due east of Borrego near Salton Sea. What radio platform do you all use. We're all setup with GRMS now and really like it. Again, great vid.

Great video. At 13:35-ish - do you think a full-size truck will make it through there? I saw the Tundra squeezing through. I do have a F250 Tremor, but not sure how wide that Tundra is in comparison.

Fyi for any future viewers they're both 80" width. I would just question if the extra length will cause an F250 to hang up a bit.

I only camp in Baja and its usually just wild camping or maybe pay a guy 5 dollars to camp in his land, can you camp in this trail without issues or only in designated spots with reservation in advanced? Thanks

2" lift with 33" tires. Recommended for the section through Volcanic hills, but I'm sure an expert drive could make it through there fine with a stock 4runner.

Note to self: probably not a good idea to camp where there are windmills. Might mean there tends to be high winds…

Fun trip but no fires in the dirt. All campfires need to be in metal containers by law, too many people scarring up the landscape.
