Looks like Fernandes STJ-55 to me, this is not STJ-80BT (I have it and it equipped with active F.G.I. PUs). Also painting was trying to reproduce STJ-BT that Hisashi Imai had at early days (moreover "Taboo" written on the back of headstock).

So nicely done! Got a real Charvel look about it now. The colour combo of pink and gold is amazing

That's what I was thinking. It has a Jackson/Charvel or even a Kramer of Hammer look to that headstock. It could be any of those or none of them!

Based on the headstock shape I am fairly certain this is a 80’s era style Kramer strat style guitar. The body appears to be a pine /maple plywood combo which is extremely stable and strong. I would say a candy apple red color or a deep sea blue would have been just perfect. You did a great job. Love the gold hardware.❤🎉

Kramer,esp or Jackson this guitars??? I never know.. ☕☕☕

hi that guitar is a Fernandes guitar probably from the late 80s and its the same guitar used by hisashi imai from the band buck tick in the videoclip "just one more kiss" of the 89' but the crucial information is the script "taboo" on the back that is the name of album where "just one more kiss" is played so probably that is a vintage signature from that time. a very rare guitar I suppose.✌

I'm surprised you routed that out for humbuckers, because you normally keep your guitar restorations as close to stock as possible. But as usual, this is magnificent work on your part! あなたは通常、ギターの修復物を可能な限り在庫に近づけているので、あなたがそれをハムバッカーのためにルーティングしたことに驚いています。しかし、いつものように、これはあなたの壮大な仕事です!

@jm71681 Жыл бұрын
Your work is great, but I'm so confused. You did so much to bring new life to this guitar, but seemingly overlooked so many things. Polished the frets but didn't level/crown/polish. New pickup routes, but didn't clean out that neck pocket to make it even and flat. Not a critique, maybe you ultimately DID do these things. I just feel like while you did indeed make it gorgeous, it's ultimately a plywood body; I would have foregone some of the aesthetic enhancement to make sure it played as silky smooth as possible :)

it was a rare Applause GTX series, and on top of that it was the super rare GTX- 20, or a GTX-21, knowing how the numbering worked i would lean towards GTX-20. if you look around you can find GTX-18, and GTX-23's for sale, they where the most popular of the series, but a GTX-20, GTX-21, or GTX-22 you never see for sale.

SORRY, but I NEVER would've restored a plywood body to Begin with! For ME it's just FIREWOOD. Kind of like that 'lipstick on a sow' analogy. Just get a GOOD one, esp. since you wanted to MOD it and make it your OWN. Unless it was a paying custie, and I STILL would've tried to talk him OUT of it- in favour of a 'start-from-scratch' Custom Build, maybe a nice exotic wood or super-light bespoke body to your specs. But different generations have different Taste I guess. You are Quite the luthier for being so Young. All the Rest just comes with Time and Experience. I see you are WELL on your Way!! Best of luck. Love your vids, esp. when you START with something OLD, UNUSUAL or Valuable due to it's Uniqueness! Not this one so much. Commercials are annoying. But at Least there's No Bad Music!!

DITTO! Weird, that's the First thing I thought. (Guess I have the same fixation...like roundedness). But I ALSO would'nt have DONE all this on a 'pointy' guitar with a PLYWOOD body! UGH! The WORST. But that's ME. And he's pretty young, but Very skilled. He'll figure it out.

The neck looks like it might be off a Charvel from the shape and truss rod cover. But the body?? I want to say its some sort of Ibanez because of the the jack cover and knobs, but I dont know if they ever made a hardtail with two single coils. Either way, great job on the rebuild!
