That was a nightmare.Stuff is not being built like it used to be.Also most packages are not box right and are prone to deliver damage.Patience is a virtue.You are doing good my friend!

The calculated cfm is crazy accurate. Just make sure you set the proper tonnage in app. I always check with static pressure but it is typically spot on.

I agree with John7017..The blades are not perpendicular (90 degrees) to the center plate/disc attached to the shaft. Easy fix, bend it back into shape. The scroll cage is light enough material to do so. Removing the weights is a band aid (just reduces vibration in this case), it does not fix the problem. Informative Video. Thank You...

You Have a out of round blower wheel, shippers do not package they correctly and they are thrown in shipping. I've had this problem before, weights are not the problem, the wheel is out of round.

So did I have one originally? I had the same kind of wobble on the factory blower wheel that came in the air handler originally. It was shaking and rubbing the blower housing originally, so I changed the wheel (last video) and then this video everyone had recommended replacing the blower at this point because it was suspected to be a bent shaft, replaced the blower and still shaking was there just not as hard. Removing the weights lessened the shaking and vibration even more

I've been doing this for 34 years and I've never seen 2 brand new blower wheels both being out of balance. That was real mechanic shit you did on this one.

Don’t fret about 20 degree superheats. Copeland recommends a minimum of 20 degrees at the compressor to prevent flood back. The following was copied from a Copeland bulletin….. In order to assure that liquid refrigerant does not return to the compressor during the running cycle, attention must be given to maintaining proper superheat at the compressor suction inlet. Emerson recommends a minimum of 20°F (11°C) superheat, measured on the suction line 6 inches (152mm) from the suction valve, to prevent liquid refrigerant floodback.

I’ve actually set the wheel on its side and pushed down and will bend back, but get a new one just in case

Yes it's your wheel. With motor and wheel put together and motor on flat surface your wheel should not wobble. Any wobble is bad wheel. Sometimes in shipping they get bent. Also a quick way, but not as effective, is to just roll the wheel on the ground and see if it wobbles to the side or looks funny, this is a test you can do in the parts house parking lot

I feel the pain I’ve gotten many outa balanced wheels but I have a motor warehouse locally and they have high end balanced wheel thank goodness

Bad squirrel cage. Looks like lower rim bent or oblong. Hand speed, slight wobble, motor speed, pissed off customer. All good. Chalk it up to inexperience gaining experience. How it works. Good vid. Always got a new blower wheel. Eventually that wobble will stress the motor bearings.

That was a new scroll cage wheel. Put it on in the previous video, then everyone recommended I replace the blower. So this video was about doing that and the problem was still there

You can let the unit run like that until your new squirrel cage comes in. You will have to change that squirrel cage out. If not, it'll make the new motor bearing wear out.

the wheel should come balanced from the factory, but in your case it was not true out of the box.

The wobble would be the wheel not the motor.

Last video I swapped the wheel, didn't change a thing, that's why people suggested changing the motor

That squirrel cage is bent dude. That out of balance condition will ruin that motor.

It has to be the motor bearing bro, that’s the only thing that makes the blower, wheel wobble.

The weights are not the problem. The wheel is not in alignment. It is bent. You cannot spin a wheel fast enough with your hand to show a balance/weight issue. Just think about tires. You need a new wheel.

@@AB_HVAC Yes, sometimes the new wheels are defective. Changing it will be the only long term solution.

@@AB_HVAC facts sir I’ve been there buddy, love the content keep it coming, electric wise when those modules go bad and your in a pinch take that mod off and these is a black diode which is what goes bad most of the time twist the two leads together and that can get you by most the time until you get another one but I always replace the whole thing not just the module

Airflow is way too low for 5ton of cooling, target is 2000 hint hint! MQ showed you an issue and you did not recognize it. You are running 259cfm per ton, way to low when you want 350 to 400. 11:40 MQ tells you the airflow is below allowable range. The speed tap is to low or the new motor is the wrong size. Or the static on the duct system is way off.

You do not need 2000! Try 1750 Max CFM.

A 5 ton short 1.5 tons of airflow.... Say it aint so. That system probably has a single 30x20 return on a 18 inch duct.

Sorry to say this but it’s just crappy equipment. Sometimes it cost the company more money to install crappy stuff because of all the warranty work you have to do.
