I love how Japanese Airline pilots wear gloves on the flight deck. Does JAL also instruct their pilots to wear gloves too? Thanks for showing us how the Japanese carrier ANA operate. Regards

it is not mandatory but it's been like a custom among Japanese pilots, and yes JAL and other airlines do provide gloves.

It's the sign for ground-controller that the left engine starts(and, the ground-contorrler notifiy the pilot if the engine seems to have a malfunctions or a trouble).

most orientals wear gloves for things like funerals, piloting airplanes, running trains, etc....somehow it's in their culture, not really sure why. seems a little odd to me.

That sucks man! How uncomfortable is that? And after 10 hours you will have sweat on your hands for sure... i would never wear those!

The reason they wear gloves is so as not to slip when controlling the throttle etc due to sweat on their hands
@ericwang10366 жыл бұрын
The main reason why they wear gloves is for hygiene purpose and maintaining a clean cockpit. These switch are constantly touch by thousand of pilots. Imagine the person before you scratch his itchy butt or picking his nose and now you go and pick up a bread and eat it. Yeah probably a good idea to wear them.

just traditional style in japanese airline. to hold yoke (sweat)

so they don't leave grease marks in the cockpit. And after they're done using the plane, they can sell it "like new", "mint condition Boeing 767".
