I'm surprised there's no storage at all in the ANA. JAL has older similar seats but they have tons of storage cabinets and they introduced their new A350 plane albeit only on certain flights. I'm hoping I sit in one of the new seats soon once they retrofit them into their existing planes. Your ticket is probably a non-refundable fare so it's cheaper by a few hundred dollars. Mine is a little more as I fly into Dallas instead of LAX or SF. Looks like no direct flight into DFW without a layover in another US airport. That's a no no for me for December cause I don't want to get stuck in Chicago or Denver Airport with horrible snow! 😆

ANA offers value for money, they always compete on price with JAL, the other Japanese carrier. ANA has lower prices. ANA’s big advantage, they have Tokyo Haneda (close to downtown Tokyo) as their ‘homebase’, whereas JAL is at Tokyo Narita, about 75KM out of Tokyo. However, JAL is in a different league. The JAL lounge is second to none and their business and first class is superb. ANA is part of Star Alliance, JAL is part of One World. Since Thai Airways is also a Star Alliance partner, there’s the code sharing.
