Mere mortals cannot do this. No sheet music; thousands of notes must be stored in her brain and recalled perfectly, ten fingers must act independently and without flaw, and the human responsible must remain calm and beautiful, always. Her performance brings tears to my eyes.

Not since John Williams have I heard such excellent separation of tone and attack on lower register melodies from higher register flourishes. Vidovic is mesmerizing! That’s the only word I can find to describe what separates her performances from all other modern day classical guitarists. It’s a true joy to watch and hear her play.
@SirKakalaCh4 жыл бұрын
What makes her so special is that you get almost Williams level technique and detail + all the emotions there are. Usually virtuosos just neglect emotions and just rush the piece to show technical superiority. Ana doesnt do that, hence the best guitarist out there now.

I don't understand how many people find this performance elegant. I think it feels like it is a machine playing notes. And what's worst is that the tempo is not even regular: when there is the easy part, she plays on tempo, while when there is the difficult part, she slows down. This is my personal opinion. Her is good, but I would have expected something different.

It's great that Ana is performing and releasing these videos on KZbin now, because her CDs and DVDs are now at least 8 years old and she's obviously gotten substantially better over time. I love her recorded CDs but hearing her live in concert 2 years ago impressed me with how much more fluid and graceful her playing has gotten in recent years. That is particularly evident in this recording.

I am proud to have discovered Anu Vidovic for myself :-) - this is how I discovered the Beatles for myself 57-58 years ago, when I accidentally listened to Radio Luxembourg living in a communist country. Apart from the fact that she is a beautiful young woman, in the first place I was shocked by her playing - such a precise playing on such a heavy instrument with amazing technique and at the same time the main thing - a deep musical performance will catch a man's soul.

@marcofantin7641 Жыл бұрын

One of the greatest pieces of all time played by one of the greatest musicians of all time!!! I always enjoy the video productions of SiccasGuitars and hope for years of many more videos, played on finely crafted guitars by great guitarists! Many people are often deceived into believing the guitar is a simple and only a enthusiastic/household instrument, but those who think this are one tenths correct and nine tenths complete wrong. For the guitar is one of the most complex, sophisticated, difficult, and artistically expressive classical concert instruments in the entire world! The only instruments in which have more musical and technical complexity than the guitar are the keyboard family and the grand harp! I have been playing the guitar for quite some time now and have found that I will never be completely satisfied with my play-ability, but I believe this is the very thing that continually pushes me and everyone else to the next step as musicians! Ana Vidovic, John Williams, Julian Bream, Andres Segovia, Christopher Parkening, Marcin Dylla, Sharon Isbin, Jason Vieaux and many more guitarists have caused me along with others, through seeing and experiencing the mastery in which they perform, to pursue music not only as a hobby, but as a career of mastery!!

I feel my heart beats once again in decades hearing a classical guitar player who truly understand Mauro Giuliani, a genius composer. Maestro Giuliani's pieces, especially this one, are very serious (probably too much for people living now) and, therefore, often be underestimated and regarded as somewhat boring. Though she plays bit fast, I believe she has reason. Anyway, it is like The Composer is reviving through Maestra Vidovic. She really makes great music be properly great again.
