I watch your channel strictly for the food ideas and am looking at the weight loss perspective only, not body building. I did Keto for 2 years and Anabolic for 1 year. I lost weight on both. One important thing not to overlook is insulin and the foods that spike it. High insulin levels tell the body to store fat. So for me the answer has been intermittent fasting and low carb living , keeping those insulin levels as low as possible. Low carb equals 50-100 carbs daily. Good for everyone to just experiment and see what works best. Your channel has been a great inspiration.

I would also say that Keto/Low Carb is good for those who have PCOS. For many of us it help allievates the symptoms such as amenorrhea, hyperpigmentation,mood changes, and craving. I lost the majority of my weight with high protein keto. However since I've met my weight lost goal and my goals have switched to muscle building, I've switched to low carb

Keto reduced my hunger and eliminated my cravings. It also greatly helped with depression. I use it as a tool now.

One of your best video's. Thanks for explaining & comparing Keto & Anabolic ways of eating. I started low carb then went keto for about 18 months and lost 80lbs just doing cardio. Still need to lose 30 more lbs & have incorporated resistance training along with my cardio. I feel better working out & realize food has no morality. I am now more focused than ever to be my best.

I did keto for almost a year and lost my initial 80 pounds. BUT it wasn’t something I could sustain for a long period of time. I love ALL the foods. I found your channel and started tracking/weighing my food. I’ve been able to maintain my weight and enjoy all the things for over a year now. I’m still working on my discipline. I’m not as beast as you yet lol. Thanks for your inspiration and hard work!

I agree with you on alot of points. I think of anabolic more like iifym just hit your protein. However, it does focus on making sure you hit your protein, although when I am coaching someone I always try to get them to 1g per pound of LBM no matter what diet they are following. I just love carbs too much and I don't have to restrict anything, which is the number one cause of relapses. I have been eating deep dish pizza almost everyday the past two weeks and am not gaining anything. Why would I stop doing that!?

Ketovore is the way for me! The beauty of this way of eating for me is that I don't have to track. I eat mostly whole, nutrient dense foods until I'm fully satisfied and don't eat again until I'm very hungry. I eat more some days, less others. There are so many variables that play into that, I just follow my hunger. Calories do matter, but what's more important are nutrients. If you satisfy your body with the right nutrients, most likely you will not overeat. We eat so differently, Nicole, but I still enjoy your content! I find you very motivating and I started lifting in the gym a couple times a week because of you and Jen!

I totally agree that higher protein keto is awesome. I have followed that from the beginning and although I did more fat in the beginning I’ve lowered it now. I also agree that a calorie deficit has to happen at least for me. Everyone needs to do what works for them and not worry about what other people choose.

Keto would be good for autophagy Which needs a low protein Eitherr by fasting or Keto which is leucine sparing so your body eats its own protein like Pac-Man... But not if it's got plenty of protein like anabolic They go good together like your left and right hand

I'm 6 feet tall, I weighed 183 pounds and trying to gain muscle on keto I ended up at 162. I went back to my regular diet and just in a few days I'm already at 170 pounds, I hope to reach 183 again. Some friends asked me if I was sick. keto is not for me. Even my face looks horrible. My goal is to reach 200, so keto is the last thing I want to try. In my experience I would say you need carbs, proteins and even fat. Thanks for the video, nice info

Wish I could moderate all the yummies but I just can't, it does not work for me telling myself over and over just a little lol or just one treat meal, yeah right give me the whole bag🤣🍪 So I'm perfectly happy abstaining(: nothing wrong with either one(: but finding out which one you are makes all the difference in the world🧡💗💜

I don't have a gallbladder anymore and my Dad thinks keto is the answer to everything. It sounds like the worst idea for my body. I need to focus on protein again. I love 1000 calorie salads but that is not my problem it's the fact that I have not felt good in 2 years and therefore haven't exercised. I am giving myself permission to use my home gym while watching your videos again. I do not care one tiny bit about losing weight I just want to be strong and feel good.

Just coming back to anabolic after 5-6 months ketovore. My cholesterol went through the roof and my energy sucked at the gym. So here we go back to macro counting and carbs! Let’s gooooo! I agree that keto isn’t great if you don’t have diabetes or a specific health concern. I wasn’t overweight when I started and i have very low fasting insulin so it wasn’t a great fit for me.

Ok so I love how knowledgeable you are and how you say what needs to be said without sounding too harsh. The fact of the matter is that people tend to trick themselves with the amounts they eat we like to believe we aren’t eating thousands of calories a day if you don’t read the nutritional info or track it’s simple to say well I didn’t eat that much today. Ignorance truly is bliss until reality sort of sets in for me it was my out of control diabetes I’ve been slipping again tho your video gave me the quick reality check I very much needed right now lol.

unfortunately, not everyone loses weight by being in a calorie deficit. I am one of those people. I track meticulously and am truly in deficit but do not lose weight. Hormones DO play a big role in it. I have hypothyroidism which makes it very difficult to lose weight.

Caloric deficit has been debunked and is not helpful whatsoever. Maybe even counter productive. There are many videos on this. I started a carnivore diet and went through a period where I was under eating and actually started gaining weight instead of losing.
@NicoleBurgess

You said it.."under eating"! You have to find a caloric deficit that isn't extreme to damage your metabolism. Doesn't mean a caloric deficit doesn't equal fat loss👍

@@daradarabobara that's amazing girl! Keep in mind that I did say "individualized" multiple times in the video and not everything is a one size fits all. Overall, a caloric deficit works. So many factors depending on the individual may be why it doesn't...chronic dieting, under eating, etc in which case eating more while moving your body is essential to have your metabolism not be fried👍
@NicoleBurgess
@NicoleBurgess Жыл бұрын
@@Scorpion-b1e we will have to agree to disagree. A caloric deficit indeed works for individuals that are overweight & currently overeating. A caloric deficit may not work for an individual that has been chronic dieting for long periods of time..meaning being in a caloric deficit too long. Those people fry their metabolisms by continuously lowering calories and seeing zero results...in those instances raising calories while moving your body is essential to get their metabolisms restored. Information in this video is not inaccurate. I say many times that everything is individualized to the person & not a one size fits all. I always preach, do what's best for you & YOUR body.
