Loved Jon Voight's portray of Serone. His attitude was like "I don't see what the big deal is. I just wanna poach an apex predator to sell for a shit ton of profit & I'm willing to murder people to succeed..what's wrong with that?" He was basically one long evil shoulder shrug.

THANK YOU GOODBAD FLICKS!!! Anaconda has been one of my top 10 guilty pleasures since i was a kid. I never understood why it gets so much hate for being ''cheesy'' and ''not scary'' It's a movie where a snake eats Jon Voight. Then spits him out and he winks... not to mention Ice Cube gets beaten up by Jon voight. It's safe to say this movie was not made to be a serious horror flick.

+Lifeduringwartime Honestly, I really hate the term guilty pleasure. It's basically other peoples' way of saying to you 'Yeah your opinion on what's good isn't valid because it's not what we think is good so feel bad for it'. I just hate its negative connotations.
@moviebuffer939 жыл бұрын
+caleb holland That's not what it means at all. A guilty pleasure is just a film you admit isn't that great, but you yourself still enjoy it despite it's problems. It means you're willing to admit it's flaws, but that doesn't keep you from having fun with it. That's how I feel about this film for example. I think it's a FUN movie.

I really liked Anaconda when I first saw it in theaters. Although it has its flaws, it was probably one of the last B-movie creature features with a solid cast to get a theatrical release by a major studio, along with Lake Placid. After that, these movies were all going straight to cable and direct-to-video.

It's getting to the point to where I'm starting to love mid-90's creature movies more and more. I miss movies like Anaconda, Relic, Lake Placid. I mean they were B-Movies but they were fun movies that Hollywood still gave a damn about or at least gave them decent budgets. Now these types of films have been banished to the realm Sci-Fy made for tv movies.

This movie will always hold a special place in my heart, because I never thought I'd get to see a Rifftrax Live in person, but for some reason they did Anaconda in NC, which was only four hours away. Thank you so much for saying “it’s far from being bad,” I hear way too many people saying that this is only enjoyable as a bad movie or just “so bad it’s good.” I enjoy this movie unironically, and as far as creature feature B-horror goes, I think this movie reaches the gold standard, Razzie nominations be damned. This movie got me obsessed with snakes, and I still have it on VHS (the same tape that we initially rented for me to watch it the first time), but you can bet your ass that the moment I find it on DVD or Blu-Ray, I’m getting it, so I can finally watch my favourite murder noodle movie without having to look through storage for a VCR or wait for it to be available on streaming.

This movie had a lot going for it even though it wasn't exactly the scariest , the cast alone made it super entertaining and the atmosphere and soundtrack were also good, this is actually one of my favorite 90's movies ...everyone in it was in their prime which was cool to see J Lo, Ice Cube , Owen Wilson and Jon Voight was only 59 when it came out so was still an effective villain.

I really enjoyed Anaconda 2: Hunt for the Blood Orchid, and the crossover Anaconda vs. Lake Placid was so bad it is great! It starred Yancy Butler, who was in Lake Placid 3 and 4, and Robert Englund who was also in 4. They make the movie very fun to watch. Anaconda 3 and 4 were terrible despite Hasslehoff and John Rhys-Davies in 3. They weren't even fun to watch as a B-Movie! I loved Kari Wuhrer from Sliders, which was just before this movie, and saw this primarily because she was in it.

My best friend and I watched this on opening weekend and 20+ years later I STILL remember how much fun we all had. Everyone in the theater was having a blast and laughing along to the bad acting, the bad CGI and the WONDERFULLY over-the-top Jon Voigt! Every time he was on screen it was like Christmas. And we were all disappointed when he got swallowed but it yielded the biggest laugh/cheer when he was regurgitated and winked. That was the mic drop for the whole movie right there.

I watched this movie a ton growing up, usually whenever my grandmother would come over. The odd thing about her joining in was she HATES snakes with relentless passion, but she still chose to sit through it with me. She'd alternate between covering her face during the scenes where the snake kills or staring down the snake with a death glare so vicious it would make chuck norris piss himself before saying:"I'll knock you upside your head, you ugly thing!" Oh granny, you loveable goofball. :)

Man I love this movie when I was a kid it was just like when The Beast came out. I never thought they would make a movie about a Giant Squid and I was so fascinated with anacondas and big giant animals when I was younger, shit I still am. I had 3 fish tanks in my room, a 5ft Nile Monitor lizard and a Ball Python that was about 3ft. A kid that was wicked into creatures, I grew up with a huge swamp next to my house. Having a movie come out when I was 9yrs old called Anaconda about a giant Anaconda killing people was a Fuckin dream come true for me... The movie really does get bashed too much, I mean shit those practical effects with the snake looked Fuckin awesome and amazing, even the CGI snake was ten times better than the shitty looking all CGI Anacondas in Anacondas Hunt for The Blood Orchid semi sequel, that took place in a country where anacondas don't even exist naturally...
