We never really had a moment in the prequels where Anakin got to be more powerful than his peers. All Star Wars media since then has bent over backwards to show why Anakin was so special and Vader was so feared, but in the movies we only saw him strike down unarmed opponents. Making short work of a room full of armed Jedi, including a hypercompetent duelist, would have not only been shocking but established Vader as a threat.

The version we have is the director's cut. Aside from some basic constraints of time and budget, Lucas made the movie he wanted to make and released it in the form he wanted it to be in. While I wouldn't object to getting extended editions, because I think they'd be fun, I think it's worth remembering that the stuff that was cut was cut for good reasons. A fun exciting duel would completely destroy the mood of the Jedi Temple destruction scene.

I love the battle of the heroes fight. I think they did a great job of making it raw, emotional, and tense. It's not just a lightsaber duel. But at the end of the day I also watch it and say "woo lightsaber go brrr". That's the last thing you want people thinking when Anakin is betraying and massacring the Jedi. Look at what happened recently with the ATLA live action series. The Air Nomad genocide, which was super impactful in the cartoon, despite not being shown, was reduced to nothing more than a flashy action scene in the adaptation. Anytime you have people saying "wow that genocide scene was cool!" you've fucked up.

We don't hear you. We don't know what you're trying to say. What do you mean by what you say? The facts are that there are real chronological differences within the Star Wars universe that do in fact affect the perception we have of Star Wars and therefore have a greater affect down the line of the product we get from books to prequels, new spinoffs and new series. So how are two different eras taking place in two totally different time periods not significant? can you answer that for us? Can you come up with a better answer than what was given that can help it along? Even if its speculative, you can at least entertain the idea instead of not offering anything constructive with your own critique and ideas. There is also the fact that both film series have different directors with different ideas, and different ideologies between Star Wars the Acolyte and Star Wars I, II, and III. In the Final Cut, we see next to nothing that took place in the Jedi Temple. Nick Gillard (or Cin Drallig) deserved some screen time, considering how he practically single handily made the lightsaber duels so cool. My mom actually talked to Nic Gillard once, helping him get credit for something she read about. I don’t remember many details, but someone mentioned something that Nick created without crediting him, which is a big no-no. As this video shows, many great things were sadly removed from the Final Cut, leaving us fans with many unanswered questions. I heard that the original script for ROTS was about 4 and a 1/2 hours long, but they cut this literally in half.

I know in canon the Grand inquisitor told all the Temple guards they we4e on lunch break before order 66 hut we should've seen anakin fight at least 2 temple guards
@-jank-willson3 ай бұрын
the inquisitors weren't created until after the empire was already formed, they were made up of former jedi
@JadusMoltriel3 ай бұрын
@-jank-willson The Grand Inquisitor was the head Temple Guard at the time of Order 66. Palpatine had already gotten to him and turned him, promising him power and access to knowledge in exchange for his service and becoming the Grand Inquisitor. The original comment is 100% correct. Just because the Inquisitors hadn't been formed yet, doesn't mean the beings who became them didn't participate in events prior to their formation.

I think its funny he said how its too dark, man did a complete genocide of an entire religion, wiping out hundreds of jedi including children and said it was too dark? like tf. Have you seen star wars?

Revenge of the Sith is still my favorite movie after all these years and it's still shocking me to see how MUCH better the movie couldve been with some of the deleted scenes

so sad when they cut out these parts of a movie that can bring real depth to the movie

Look how long it took them to release that extended scene of one of the imperial officers calling Darth Vader “Dark Lord of the Sith” in A New Hope, literally decades

WE NEED AN EXTENDED CUT
@cameronpark71313 ай бұрын
They didn't cut it because it was dark. They cut it because "it just looks good" is not a valid reason to include a scene like that. Think about it: this would be the first time Cin Drallig appeared, so we would have no knowledge of his character and thus there would be no stakes to the fight. It would only serve to say "look what Anakin can do!" and that was already done. It was a pointless scene.

Every epic movie that gets released should be no less than 3 hours so they don’t have to keep cutting so much content.
