Poor little guy. That’s a tough surgery. Increasing fiber in the diet helps naturally drain the glands. Pumpkin is a good source of fiber. BTW- vets don’t do enough to educate dog owners on this common problem.

I'm here because this happened to my chihuahua this week. Didn't know all his scooting was because of a deeper issue then he had this huge red bump beside his anus. Only cost $270, I'm in Toronto.

I highly recommend the “Forever Dog “ book by Dr Karen Becker. I wish I had all the information when I had a young dog. If you follow her steps your dog will live a much longer healthier happy life ❤️

The groomers also can do this but way before it ruptures.

This happen to my dog not even an hour ago .I took him a bath cause he wasn't feeling well and after that he was acting fine and get was scratching up his bed he always does that after a bath When i looked his bed had blood and I didn't know where it was coming from. So I started looking around his body and there it was the gland rupture So I made my own e collar and made a appointment with Petco. I wish this will heal on it own cause I can afford this money they want to charge.and this whole week I been getting bad luck no joke. One after the other.

So if a dog were a wild dog who would express their anal glands? Seems unnatural. Why do humans have to express animals anal glands... so weird...
@seigedrakonera56894 жыл бұрын
All canids from wolves to domestic have them. But with wolves, coyotes and dingos for instance their natural diet keeps them from getting impacted. But thought rare they to can get impacted/infected anal glands an if bad enough can cost them their lives. Domestic dogs get them more often for a few reasons. But it usually comes down to poor diet, improper grooming and bad breeding.

Our pets should never even exist. It was breeding that created domesticated dogs. Hence, we now have dogs with problems that never should exist either. It's quite sad really. Breeders are the true terror.

Only 475? My job charges 2000 for a sacculectomy😭
@Bigtony18184 жыл бұрын
$475 its a lot of money my friend but I learn my lesson thats why I made this small video to try and help some one out there. What Country, city or state do you charge $2,000 dollars 💵 for this procedure ? 🤔
@toridelrio-wright45124 жыл бұрын
Miami, FL. No. I agree. 475 is alot, no doubt. My dog is having the same issue. Hes having a sacculectomy. Luckily with our discount it knocks it down to 500, which is still too dang much. But from 2000 its a steal.
