Well done. Agree with @MacXpert74 that the real Prophet sounds more organic. Most audible at the beginning of the sound but it stays that way throughout playing, making it so lively. Personally, I think Softube's Model 80 does a better job, but nothing better than the real thing.

Nice comparison. The Arturia Prophet V doesn't sound bad, but it does give away what it is; a digital emulation. It gives you a similar sound impression, but without the detail and finesse of the real analog synth. The biggest difference I'm hearing is that on the real Prophet every key press will make the attack sound slightly different, creating a sound that has more of an 'organic' feel and more 'movement' to it. The Arturia Prophet V on the other hand sounds pretty static. Every key press sounds the same, almost like a sample based synth. The resulting sound isn't directly 'bad' but is rather 'one dimensional' and a bit uninspiring as a result.

Arturia did a really good job. Thanks for the video. (edit) On second thought, I look at the settings on Arturia's Prophet-5 on the Radiohead cover, and there are none. How is sound constructed?

It's more or less just a basic saw-pad with a very short filter envelope to get the click sound. :)

thx friend! I was amazed at how good the Arturia P5 sounded compared to the Rev4, tbh. Soundwise, the software probably sounds a bit “duller and deader“, but that really takes place in the last 5%. The Rev4 is easier in a mix though. What sets the Rev4 apart is the inspiration I get from touching a real device. That's the reason I'm keeping it.

The software ‘sounds’ like the hardware but it doesn’t ‘feel’ like it in the sound. Missing the smoothness that maybe only a lot of over sampling might fix. Thanks for the great comparison.
