Excellent comparison. All these fuzzes sound good in different ways. The AstroTone is supposed to be designed for Les Paul into Fender-style amp, a setup where the designer feels traditional Fuzz Faces don't work so well. Have you tried it like that?

Pretty sure the middle knob on the peppermint is just a bias knob and not a gate. The peppermint is essentially the same circuit as the sunface but voiced differently based on the sound of a specific song. You can of course get the sunface with the bias knob too

Yes, the BUZZ knob is a bias, and it gets gated when turned down. :)

Fuzz SHOULD be the only Drive you need; and Analogman makes some of THE BEST classic circuits going, only matched by Jext Telez. Have heard a couple newer takes that are outstanding,- Deep Trip's trio of re makes come to mind, along with Skin Pimp's hard to find , ultra boutique stuff,- but it's hard to improve on near perfection.Like Leo Fender,- the non guitarist,- some things spring from the manna, - from God's lips, to our ears. There IS something about that reverse "Hendrix"white Strat .It just visually works.

That’s right . Reuss Effects, Jam Pedal’s and Jupiter Effects also have some killer fuzz pedals. As for the guitar it’s special indeed, not only for the looks!!

Andre Ribeiro great question. I’m still about to find out. I’ll have to test it in a band context because it’s a great difference. But I think the peppermint will cut very good

@@BuddaGuedes just wanted to tell you that the TI BC183 AnalogMan Sun Face is perhaps my favorite fuzz pedal of all time, the one in your video. I haven't heard anything better. Only other fuzzes that are "that good," but certainly none better.

monkey dangus I also like it a lot. I’ve been using the Reuss Effects Fuzz Faze and loving it a lot. Both are really great. Just different!!

Are you also using the loadbox on top of your Mesa to run that Marshall head so hard? Also, you’re using the volume pots on pedals all the way up: is that unity gain or you’re just pushing the output even harder to drive the Marshall? Awesome tones anyway man!

Hey there. I'm not using the power atenuator. The volume knobs are a little above unity gain, cause that's how fuzz pedals usually sound the best to me. Thanks for your comment.

Budda Guedes yes ! I was reading about the pedal and it has a trimpot inside that you can move and the pedal sound completely different. :)

Recoding fuzz pedals with microphones 🎙 makes them sound way better. Plus Buddha has great amps too. But hey it’s always possible to make things sounds better. Running a fuzz through an already dirty amp helps a lot

Fuzz is a very personal pedal. The amp needs to be at least compressed. I love an overdrive pedal after the fuzz!!!
