Interesting point about fatigue caused by front and back squats. I can remember Clarence said front squats were more fatiguing so he did back squats kore

Also, if I recall, Shi and Li Dayin only front squat too. Not sure why Li doesn't back squat, but Shi had a severe back injury. He did a 255 front squat as a 69, Tian did a 280 front squat as an 85, and then 280 like a warmup as a 96.

great channel loosely on the back squat cycle @ below 180 max [ 82kg BW - PB @ 145 ]....currently on lockdown with no weights but playing with bodyweight stuff. 2 days a week is interesting regarding legs....work big days so the accessories after the first session fry me hahaha. but do them on a different day. again on the programme to see where fits / loose - do enjoy the sets / reps....def.need to pick a moment to get em in @ th public gym an not as conditioned as some to bang out the sets with short rests [ sometimes need 10 - 15 breaks on em i know ]. personally feel squat every day is better for me maybe technically - but do feel stronger with more days rests - but not as conditioned / squats are my focus but now semi traumatise me if i dont make the reps haha. love the channel. enjoy the programme and will stay on and revisit on another cycle after maybe revisiting squat every day [ i know you guys hate it ]. will look to purchase the weightlifting programme as well and hopefully - get some coaching from you guys when i become worthy of coachin and hittin higher intermediate numbers. need to address my back caving issues in the mean time. love the channel guys bit of a waffle for anyone who hasn t purchased a programme - there are some great accessories in the mix. cheers.

Maybe the difference in ratio is connected to a difference in leverages. What I mean is that shorter people have proportionally shorter limbs (relative to their height), so the taller someone is (like supers) the worse they'll naturally be at front squatting. I'd assume that to be a bigger difference than the difference for back squats and the two competition lifts.
@GilBatesLovesyou3 жыл бұрын
As someone with long femurs, I've found front squats way more comfortable and easier to keep consistent automatic technique compared to back squats.

Why is a front squat at the same percentage or even weight less fatiguing than a back squat? Does using the posterior chain tire us out more? Or is it because it's a shorter overall bar path? Or does this only apply to elite lifters for whatever reasons

Lads. Are front squats easier to stay upright than a back squat. I’ve never tried a proper front squat but I’m imagining it’s easier to stay upright sort of like when you do a goblet squat. Obviously it must take insane upper back strength
@CeroAshura3 жыл бұрын
It's harder to stay upright even if your thoracic strength is up there. If you lose position you start to fold into yourself when coming back up.

So ... Can I front squat everyday?
@alejandromagnobarrasa92443 жыл бұрын
It’s weird the front squat never feels like my clean form. I feel like my front squat is slow and upright and not as deep, and my clean is more inclined and all the way down, but I haven’t done it in years I do remember being stronger in dead lifts but my volume was also much more.
@alejandromagnobarrasa92443 жыл бұрын
The Jack Of Hearts I think it may be the opposite, but I do feel that the back squat is closer to my bottom position than my front squat is. I just don’t like front squats generally speaking and stopped doing them, but I guess I’ll see if adding them back in would be useful.
@GilBatesLovesyou3 жыл бұрын
Probably a better thing to do is complexes of clean + front squat in your case, to get the right feeling going.

Clarence said in a video that front squats are harder to from recover than back squats and that he finds them more injurious. Do you have any idea why that may be?
@samtesh29003 жыл бұрын
Not to disagree with Clarence but back squats are going to facilitate a higher load on the bar for 99% of athletes so theoretically a higher amount of stress and thus a longer recovery period Back squats are however clinically/scientifically proven to drive IGF-1 production in humans beyond any other movement. The hormone response to back squats when appropriately loaded for the lifter is off the charts, and this could result in faster recovery.
@Second2473 жыл бұрын
I'm not Clarence but for me heavy front squats can cause big long lasting muscle spasms (or something like that) in my core/back muscles. It might take close to week to recover from one. I can reliably go heavy with back squats and it's rare for it to cause me issues, front squat are bit of gambit each time i do them.
