I've been picking up on a few things lately. One is that Clarence no longer does narrow grip tucked bench press, and now he doesn't pause his squats anymore... I feel like it's just a matter of time before he puts on quad ply suits whilst quarter squatting and listening to pantera
@roadhog66546 жыл бұрын
Maybe hes trying to get stronger...? Ever think of that? Pause reps and a closer grip hinder strength.
@roadhog66546 жыл бұрын
cheatcode as an accessory yes, but if you ONLY do pause reps or a narrower stance of any kind, it doesnt allow you to lift as much as lifting with a wider grip or dping reg reps
@cheatcode37376 жыл бұрын
it does doe... if so why arent people just gripping around the edges of the bar? they should be able to lift more so? no.. its his technique that works for him that makes him able to lift that weight, he can do the same with a closer grip, and no. the pause reps do not ONLY help with building ur normal squat if its a narrow stance.... it depends on how u squat. if u are a bouncer(let the weight drop with u into the bottom of the squat aka the hole) it will help u build strenght out of the hole with a narrow stance pause squat i agree. BUT if u are a stan efferding wider stance squatter it helps u the same way. he helps u building up the resistance and stability in ur lowerbody and upperback and core to press/squat more weight in ur normal squat. its easier for a wider stance squatter to pause since they dont have any hole to bounce out of like the narro squatter, but they will also be a lot stronger and more consistent through out the whole squat.
@cervixcrusader856 жыл бұрын
Maybe he's focusing on explosiveness/power for his squat at the moment. And changing up your grip for bench can work different parts of your chest, a shock for the body is always good when things plateau.
@cheatcode37376 жыл бұрын
Mark he is a Olympic Lifter. aka a Weightlifter, so yes he is full power with the explosiveness and no changing up the bench doesnt work that way, he needs to get stronger triceps or either pecs to get the numbers up, he was doing "Close grip" cause he felt explosive since u are very explosive off the chest but slower at lockout, he now have mixed up his grip and found a wider technique that works for him that he now uses since he still have the explosiveness but is more consistent through out the whole lift, look up Terron Beckham. he is "closegripping" 500+ pounds on bench. he talks a lot about it

Alright my children, I have official permission from the Kennedy himself to educate the masses of his training methodology. Ready? Squat everyday 5x5 @ 99.9% of your 1 rep max. Also Beach following the same recepie. Deadlift once a year, if you feel like it. Also make sure you squat with a ultra narrow stance squat, therefore while in the bottom position you can lick your own knee cap. The narrow stance makes sure you are thoroughly tormented. Also your training session should not be less than 4 hours. Thanks make sure you contribute to the Kennedy's PayPal account. He needs to buy more broccoli.

In fairness, where are the meat eaters putting up numbers like his? Meat or not, there aren’t many lifters putting up his numbers. I was vegan before I started lifting, but I’m not as strong as Clarence and still pretty new to snatch/C&J. I also didn’t start general lifting until I was 31 though, and have done long periods of full time school with full time work while also trying to maintain training since then. I don’t really think being a vegan or eating meat seems to make a significant difference in strength.
@AsianAcoustic6 жыл бұрын

The most incredible thing about Clarence is that his body type doesn't even provide the best leverage for squatting! If I'm not mistaken it looks like he got some proportionnally longish femurs, but he obviously overcomes this disadvantage by adapting his squat form to his morphological type and by working on his mobility.

@evian6646 жыл бұрын
Work on mobility on ankle dorsiflexion, but also on hip mobility. you can try a slightly wider than usual stance and angle your toes and knees out further. That pushes your hip Forward a bit and makes your torso more upright. However with a long legs short Torso build you can expect to have a less upright squat form be the optimal one for you, as mobility can only be pushed so far reasonably. Also it will capitalise on your Shorter Torso having a better leverage than your legs, so you might be able to move more weight that way.

Just to expand - try putting your feet on the bench then push your hips up. Notice that tension in your traps? Now find that with your legs down...you'll see why your heels are in the air, but you're trying to touch the ground.
