@Sara In my humble opinion we need to just take Tik Tok away from the celestials and just have it run by Americans without any Chinese involvement of any kind. That way the Americans that depend on the revenue they get from their silly Tik Tok videos won’t lose any food off their table. Why not?

But that’s not what those who want to eradicate transgender believe…funny how he doesn’t mention that. Kaitlin Jenner will never be fully accepted no matter how water she carries. I’m all for nuance, tho. At least people care about women’s sports now. Should have new category, or two winners. And kids are too young to decide usually. People on the right can do the same thing 😄. That’s where it started!

Only the ignorant would want people to question what it means to be a woman. No male born, once reaching puberty, could have a period, carry a child to birth, or produce milk throughout the day from their breast for that child. Not saying that every woman carries a child, produces milk, or have a period every month. But these are far from the global standard of women.

It means Apathy, or otherwise a preoccupation to things that matter more to someone than some politicized talking points 🤷🏽‍♂️ I would also like to add that it’s perfectly reasonable to not be up in arms over something that doesn’t “mean anything to me/you personally” (as the clout chasing Redditors and Trans-Trenders like to say) since it’s already pretty dubious how much of this actually matters considering that it’s all ESG Astro-Turfing of culture/Overton Window shenanigans. When the people who hold all the assets/pensions are trying to force societal changes in bad faith, be skeptical of the celebrities/influencers who want to “be on the right side” 🤷🏽‍♂️

Careful now, if you are critical of anyone who has experienced male puberty competing against women in women's sports that can get you labeled as far right. I'm a detransitioner, I'm so glad I feel better now and I'm okay with my body. Starting to transition was the worst decision I've ever made but I'm glad I stopped before getting any surgeries. Edit: I realize I need to explain a few things: I'm from Europe and were I'm from before starting hormones or getting surgery you have to get approved in therapy, I was never approved but I was closed. My therapist wanted me to start them and she also told me that she would get money after I got surgery (I swear it happened, if you don't believe it I don't care). She told me surgeons and therapists have a "deal" and they make a lot it money. I was 19 so I wasn't a kid. I believe I felt like I wanted to transition because I have been assaulted and that changed me. I was also not sober and wasn't clear mentally. I've always been a supporter of the community and this is definitely not being in denial. I was confused and always under too many meds. I'm now in rehab and about to graduate from college. I'm a woman and I'm happy I never took testosterone or got my boobs cut off. I've learned to love my body. I want to say again that I'm not against trans people, I believe they exist but I think it should be illegal to let kids transition. I was 19 and I'm glad I had my parents who knew me and knew I wasn't trans. They took the time to understand the situation and talk to me into a bit of clearness. Detransitioners are real and it's shocking that when we say something like this we get asked for proof and are taken as liars. This is not that rare. I believe detransitioners numbers will unfortunately go up. Listen to us as well and be nice, life wasn't hard for me but I'm starting to get better. Thank you.

At 16:00, Dr Grande uses the example of a married couple with very different attitudes about spending seeking counseling as an analogy to the way a political solution should be sought. Golden! "The counselor would not tell them that what they need is more hate and accusations rather the therapist would tell them that they need to find common ground and figure out the problem. They need more understanding of each other and there is no rush to make any decisions. In the end, an unhappy compromise is probably better than an eternal war."

Conservative Christians are a handful of people short of a monolith of aggression, hypocrisy, misogyny, and abuse of every kind. All that while not even actually knowing enough about their own religion after 50 yrars of practice to be called Christians by a reasonable person. As soon as you don't look or act like them its over for you. There is no actual love thy neighbor. It's love your own by statement and tear everyone else to shreds. We should all go by biological sex because it’s real, it’s verifiable, it’s undeniable, and it can never be changed. Gender means nothing now that people keep changing it and being so confused by it. Females can have all different personalities, likes, interests, and hobbies, and they’re still females. Males can also have all different personalities, likes, interests, and hobbies, and they’re still males. It is impossible for a man to feel like he’s a woman because they have no way of knowing how that feels, and it doesn’t mean wearing makeup and dresses. Men and boys should not participate in women and girls sports as they’re separate for a reason.

Age is nowhere near as important as that..Let's allow 40 years olds identify as 80 & vice versa. Plus ones biological humanity is also more important than ones race or ethnicity. We're all human, but our race & ethnicity come from our ancestors & parents that came from those ancestors mating choices. Evolution didn't give us that much of a choice in defining us as "human" (male & female), so why did we discriminate against those white people who said they were black? Or whites who said they were native American? If you follow the extremely poor logic of the pro trans movement, (that a human male can become female & vice versa) the pro trans movement should be even more in favor of the racial trans whites who identified as black & native American.

I think the issue with women's sports is similar to sports with weight classes. A 170 lb wrestler doesn't fight against a 210 lb wrestler because the physical difference gives the heavier guy an unfair advantage. Even if the 170 lb guy is the best wrestler in his weight class, he cannot do as well going up against someone who is physically larger and more muscular. Same deal with women's sports. What's between your legs doesn't affect your performance but the rest of your anatomy certainly does.

This is true but the main sex hormone in your body will dictate how your anatomy functions. Naturally high testosterone will always have the winning edge - but plenty of cis women have naturally high testosterone and are loudly vilified and accused of being men. Cis women can grow facial hair, have PCOS, have deep voices. It’s less common but not impossible. And they do succeed - but they are hated for it. So if a trans person has A anatomy and have matching A sex hormones (naturally produced) or B hormones as part of transition. How far into puberty (or post puberty) affects the physiological changes and function of their body, and even the development of it. I just think this nuance is important to be part of the discussion. But as a trans person if losing all rights to doing sports is what it takes to stop people calling us rapists, mentally sick and pedophiles I honestly feel like it’s a worthwhile trade.

You imagine yourself as a female caricature that has nothing to do with being a real woman. You may not be a pedophile, but most transgender biological men are. So consider the company that you keep. Just like any other body dysmorphia, you are allowed to reject the image of trans and fight to endorse your true sex. You are not more genuine for embracing the lie. You are not God. @@tommymc7535 I'm trans and perfectly content in saying it is a mental disorder. It's just that in some cases, cosmetic surgeries to resemble the opposite sex is the best treatment available. Some might disagree with this choice, not everyone has to like me for it, but as Dr. Grande said we have to co-exist in this world.

@@dr-ozone Well I appreciate you being so open about it… it doesn’t seem like the majority of trans people agree with you. Or maybe the silent majority does and we only see the extreme ones. The only thing is, it has been proven that cosmetic surgeries do not change their suicide rates statistically.

One problem is that transgender people are a group separate from trans activists. Most transgender people want to live comfortably with themselves without making a song and dance. The other wants to make everyone else feel as uncomfortable as possible.

"Republicans" define a woman as an adult human female. "Democrats" define a woman as "someone who believes, or says that they are a woman". I fall in the group who believes biology should define each individual, rather than feelings and that biology has been, and should remain the determining factor in who gets to play on what sports team or join specific groups such as the boy scouts or the girl scouts.

Thank you for approaching this sensitive topic, and for doing it in your usual objective, scientific manner. Given how divided the American society is where most public figures (and not only) pick a "side", it's difficult to find someone who uses logical, informed and unbiased argumentation, critiquing all attitudes and arguments that fail to be rational. We need more people like you!
@MrAerohank
@MrAerohank Жыл бұрын
"Unbiased"? "Critiquing all attitudes and arguments that fail to be rational"? Really? What Dr. Grande really did here was presenting a very biased and kind video for his right-wing audience. He presented all the valid right wing arguments, such as sports and the permanency of surgery, and repeatedly called out liberal media outrage as overblown. All the while completely ignoring the fact that the right-wing media and even right wing elected officials are completely de-humanizing the minority group by repeatedly calling them pedophiles and groomers. Curiously also no mentions of book-banning of LGBTQ content by right wing elected officials. Apparently these topics, which appear to be almost comically on-the-nose inspired by the early years of some other right wing party, aren't important in an analysis video of the transgender right debate. No, make no mistake, this is a very biased video.

Dylan is not a woman and therefore should not be referred to as "she" or "her." The point of language is to clarify. Pandering to Dylan's delusions on command by using inaccurate language serves only to confuse listeners. The reportage on the recent trans mass murderer was a mess of undecipherable mixed messages because of this.

Interesting topic. I went to the gym last year and headed to the shower. I walked into the shower naked and saw a naked bio female. My first thought was that I just got naked in the women’s locker room. But no, I was in the right place. This other person, who looked an awful lot like a female to me, said, “It’s OK. I’m trans.” I got to say, it made me feel weird.
