Analyzing Inquisitor Yinchen

Now that I've shared the new Hero Skin lore, it's time to talk about my thoughts on it. We'll be discussing the skin, the lore around the skin, and the oddities that are inherint in it.
On the one hand, it's the best hero skin thus far!
On the other hand.....what even is this Inquisition!?

I do look forward to the next string of lore orders. I just need to know more. One of the things I wanted ubi to explore was the Warmongers belief in the God horkos and for them to expand on how the order of horkos dishes out its own justice system. S, seeing an Inquisition got me excited about that, but it just ended up being more edgy lore. So I hope we get some more expansion. Maybe from Chimera' point of view, since we are getting the last run of the chimera banquet game mode event. I am very interested in seeing what Astrea has planned for Yinchen. Ma, I hope it's decent. Astrea lore isn't very common, well not as common as I personally want anyway.

15:40 according to an event order called “War of Faith” the Inquisition worships a deity also named Horkos. So either Astrea made up a deity to solidify the credibility of her order or they are hyping up their own organization

Horkos was always a deity to their faith though, it's just now they actually have him doing stuff..

I love the appearance of the skin as it is very reminiscent of WH40k Inquisitors or Warhammer Fantasy Witch Hunters as you pointed out in your video. On a surface level the backstory reminds me of Solomon Kane in the initial start as a pirate before finding Faith and becoming an agent for good via vigilantism

I do agree that it’s pretty mid with how her story especially how the continuity with other pieces of lore is a bit wonky, but I do love the design of the hero skin. I also like how they emphasize how her pistols only contain one bullet each. Although, I do have to agree that these stories for the most part are very vague in terms of the details outside the story.

With the In Memoriam effect, you can see a gravestone that says "lore continuity" on it, which is kind of Ubisoft's acknowledgment of their fucky wucky. Or a middle finger. Who knows?

One thing that the story also explains I that pirate’s gun does fire only one shot. Pirate firing multiple shots in game is just a mechanic that doesn’t need to be explained through lore.

If my memory is correct, the folks at the stake had a nasty policy whenever they set up shop. Either join them or be a part of some nasty looking sacrifice. While the Inquisition were likely still gung-ho about it, it's not too far-fetched (for my understanding) for a group of zealots to see folks near/unknowingly alongside the Relic cult as accomplices or the very least tainted. And I'm curious to hear more about your thoughts on the Afeera's extra lore. as the lore tab for the event seems pretty reasonable. Heathmoore soldiers murdered their leadership, stole and fractured their precious artifact, burned their land, and "won" when the Afeera tried to get revenge. It seems reasonable that they would be more cautious of outsiders coming from Heathmoore.

Yinchen is the best hero skin so far in terms of design and I'm really excited for the next one (It's gonna be a conquisdator lawbro for sure)

My problem is that shes a pirate skin and not a knight skin...say peacekeeper. you know, the rapier and dagger class with crossbow feat (her combat stance is close to such a style with her shortsword.) Imagine if it was you know...a peacekeeper, someone who already is well versed with being a supposed peacekeeper among the land (like the old trailers used to say.) Like it makes much more sense if it was a peacekeeper skin based on lore potential alone even with a inqusition order but I guess us knights cant win. "Selected from the desperate, the humbled and the devoted. Sworn to secrecy by oaths, what they know can destroy legends...or create em." - paraphrased from the for honor trailer of peacekeeper. NOW does this not sound perfect for a typical inqusition? A peacekeeper order perhaps focused on findind heresy and all, maybe they existed as a small group among every legion..expand on the legions as a bonus and thus for honor knight/general lore. Like how was each legion built when you had so many orders in the base game between warden, lawbringers and peacekeepers. All with their own secrecy and duties afterall as the old trailers spoke of. I miss the old lore honestly.

Her look is very reminiscent of an imperial witch hunter from Warhammer Fantasy. The only way the inquisition in For Honor would make sense is if there was some sort of grave external threat to the world and they served as the bulwark against it. It feels like they're trying to turn the setting into something between a dark fantasy and a low fantasy setting. That's fine, just make a sequel and retcon in all of the dark/low fantasy stuff and say it has always been here, there was never a period where enough people practiced it to be a threat and that it was always Apollyon's goal to create strong enough warriors through massive conflicts that the world would have a fighting chance when these dark forces turn up.

I love how the game mentioned here by KZbin isn't even For Honor, but Assassin's Creed Valhalla! xD With you with the Afreea's lore Raven. I consider them less of a order of fighters character but more of a plot device. One question I have is what do the Medjay have to say about current events?

I think she may not have like or enjoyed working in the pirate life. Mercenaries don't question their orders or actions to earn money or bettering their set skill like sailing or ect. Then they break away or leave for more money or their ideas.

Chimera still exist, they’re just not getting as much pull this year, mostly because the Outlanders coming in and getting up in Heathmore’s business created a surge in xenophobia, so it’s a good Horkos year. And Christianity is definitely in for honor and worshiped by the main group of knights,as suggested by armor and their intro videos, but for some reason in recent years they have been trying to avoid mentioning it

the order of horkos worship horkos, i think there is a church of horkos too if i remember correctly from year 4. order of horkos is ubisoft's christianity because christianity is pure evil in eyes of ubisoft

Well just because your part of the same fleeth doesn't actuely have to mean you have to have the same morels and goals. Like with vikings of history some of them came to trade and settel other came to plunder and raid, just because these groups traveld toghter doesn't mean you had the same end goals. Also it's very clear that she thinks the problem is that innocent people end up hurt. She has no problem wiping out intire villages, but she draws the line when people start killing indiscrimently. We never knew if the pirate main karakter just slaughterd everyone, cause it's more likely they just killed people that tryed to stop them from looting and people that diden't fight back maintained unharmed. Also it's very clear what the fantics worship 3 holly objects and there legends, a relligion doesn't need to worship god's.

Vikings raided and plundered. Sorry, but that's what they did. The profit made from the vikings plundering benefited the community and the community was usually pretty alright with it. Don't assume ancient peoples had modern day moral values. Yes she is upset that innocent people will end up hurt. Burning down villages hurts the people who live there. I don't see how your point there works. Bou Yin was friends with Astrea and joined Horkos knowing what they were, implying she had no problem with what they did. Religions don't NEED to worship gods, but the lore makes references to sacrifices and bloody pacts. And in one lore drop a fanatic mentions 'our gods will stand beside me in the end.' So there are clearly gods involved.

@@RavenKnightYT vikings diden't only raid and plunder that's only a steriotype, sure they did that often, but to go viking means to go on expedition not to go on a raid. It's a documented fact that vikings also traded and setteled in the locations they visited, but yeh more often then not it was a raid. Also just because bou yin was okey with that doesn't mean that all of her pirates followed the same lead inside of heatmore. As for the last one if that's true then yeh that's odd maby they saw the last holders of the secret artifacts as there god's?

Let’s count the male locked characters: Lawbringer, Centurion, Gryphon, Warlord, Highlander, Shugoki, Aramusha, Kyoshin, Jiang Jun, Shaolin, Medjay. That’s 11. Now let’s count females: Peacekeeper, Warmonger, Valkyrie, Shaman, Nobushi, Nuxia, Afeera, Pirate That’s 8. ….seems there are far fewer female currently than male, so….gonna have to disagree on that note.
