Played the hell out of this game. There was also a cool feature where if you connected your PSP to the PS3 with the Resistance 2 playing, your character would have regen health instead of needing health packs to heal, that made it much more fun honestly.

coldent you connect the PS2 or PS3 controler to the PSP to get a proper controler whit aim assist been turned off as it was no longer needed and all the PS2/PS3 bottom properly maped. meaning you did not have that Right tricker doing two diffrent thing but Right 1 and Right 2 been proper mapped and all that?

Resistance 2, single player wise isn’t good. Story, sure it’s amazing but gameplay? Nope. I can’t comment multiplayer wise but the coop mode is really fun and easily the only reason to get it today outside of collection appeal. This coming from a Resistance fan myself.

@@varsityreviews707 The co-op was absolutely fantastic and the large scale competitive multiplayer was great fun even if everyone was absurdly spongy. But yeah that singleplayer campaign is beyond god awful with some of the most unfair BS that should never have left the alpha phase. With that multiplayer gone, there's literally no reason to play it.

@@InfernalMonsoon definitely. The only reason I replayed it at all was to relive the story, and thankfully it’s coop IS split screen, which does give it some value to go back to. Also interesting to note that when I first played it on easy it took me 7 hours exact to beat it and on my second (and probably last) play through a few months ago on Normal, it took me exactly 7 and a half hours to beat it. I’m in a way curious to see if that’ll mean it’ll take me another half hour or so on the next difficulty but I don’t want to break something to find out.

Finished this gem on my Vita and my dear goodness this game is HEAVLY Overlooked, underrated and underappreciated. Game looks soo gorgeous on my OLED Vita and the Dual Analog mod pretty much made the game so much fun and comfortable to play. Playing this gem on a Vita is honestly the best way to go since you'll get a better image quality because handheld and You won't have to deal with hard crashes through an emulator nor you have to deal with low resolution through PSTV. Damn shame you still never gotten your hands on a Vita Jarek...You would had so much fun and get full out of this game on it. Here's hoping you'll get one in a distant future.

The PSTV and Vita is the same thing hardware wise. They run at the same resolution. The only difference is the size of the screen you're displaying the game on.

Now this was another psp classic and it’s very underrated for a Resistance game. Wish some of these were remastered on newer gen consoles or at least put em on ps now. Welp it’s been fun seeing these great Psp shooters reviewed.

I love this game. I really do love that Resistance Retribution is still set in the first game. And when you connect your PSP to your PS3, and have a save file of Resistance 2, Greyson becomes a Sentinel but infect like Nathan Hale. The Lore is so rich.

Got this game when I was in 8th grade. Great way to get into the franchise, and the next year, got the entire collection, both books and the comics for my birthday, and got the vita title as a graduation gift.

Fun fact this game has some PS3 features that could only be accessed on resistance 2. The first option is the ability to infect your copy of resistance fall of man with the virus and turn the main character into a kymera kind of like the main character from resistance 2. And the second option is the ability to play the game with a PS3 controller.

FINALLY, someone else is talking about this game! Resistance Retribution is my favorite of the franchise if I had to choose between two of which games of the franchise could be remastered it'd be this one and 2. 2 because I fucking loved and miss the COOP mode and this game because I would LOVE to see how one can improve this game.

I remember playing this religiously years ago. With my main multiplayers being Halo and Gears, Resistance R and Killzone L felt like pocket versions of those I played in bed and at school. Miss my PSP

9:25 Yeah, the Razor is by far the BEST gun in the game for the reasons you mentioned plus the fact that its ammo is plentiful. It just works for some reason.

'ello Jarek. Loving the video here. This is honestly one of the franchises I wish I could experience if I had a console, so I got really interested in it. If you see this (I hope), I'd like to suggest at least 3 games that you could cover: -Hard Reset Redux (It's a remaster that also gives access to the original when bought on Steam) -Shadow Warrior 2013 -Clive Barker's Undying (This one's a GOG only title, but it's equally worth trying out)

Hot damn I loved this game. I wasn't sure if it was nostalgia or not, because most of the PSP games in retrospect weren't crash hot, but this video reaffirmed it. Me and my brother played the heck out of it and it was balls to the wall fun. We sucked at the PSP controls which kind of lent to the fun when playing die by die.

It's funny how you mentioned that nobody remembered this, I actually forgotten most of this game even after only a year or two after beating it. Which is weird because I remember finishing it thinking it was a great game. It must be some sort of weird effect that portable spin off games seem to have but without a doubt it would have been a WAY better sequel to Resistance 2. I maintain that is one of the worst video game sequels ever made.

I loved Bend Studios on PSP. They created 2 fantastic Syphon Filter games and this game. It really utilized the whole PSP’s power. Days Gone wasn’t a bad game either. It is a promising game for such a studio.

for a long time this was the only Resistance game I had ever played due to me not having a PS3 but having a PSP growing up. The criticism is totally valid, Ive always noticed that there are a few sections in the game where the difficulty spikes a little too much, but overall it's a polished fun rollercoaster ride with so much cool stuff to unlock. Nowadays I've played some Resistance 2 and 3 and imo Retribution is waay better than Resistance 2. 3 however might be my favorite

Regarding the experience with the PPSSPP emulator. I found a way to somehow make it work with this game. For it only crashes at the end of some missions so I just downloaded a save file with the game completed on it and started the missions from the mission select menu. As for the game, it's a must play for anyone who enjoyed the resistance franchise. It's a full fledged resistance game on a handheld console and surely one of the best games ever released for the PSP.

Do you have a Playstation Vita? There's a Resistance game for that too called 'Resistance: Burning Skies', which received mixed reviews. If you have a Vita or can find a way to emulate it, I'd say to play it for the channel, although, I didn't like it, but you might

Is a PSP Go needed which can already do that or does it work with the Infected mode. I've not used Infected Mode long or know how to use a controller with the PSP so have no clue. Cool has Dual shock 3/Sixaxis controller support though.

If you are playing this on an emulator increase the simulated clock speed by a lot. That helped with a lot of the bugs and glitches and crashing.

I thought Burning Skies was more forgotten/or maybe forgotten in a bad way? I wish to play it on my Vita but for now only 1-3 and Retribution which I'm glad I got Retribution while collecting PSP games in the last few years. As people say that Retribution is the best in many cases whenever I browse the Internet and I can see why. Never emulated this game so surprised to hear (at least for PPSSPP that it struggles). Which I can agree it was really good (besides 3) and Bend like with Golden Abyss did a really good job using the Syphon Filter games on the PSP's systems to make this game more impressive and better playable I think even more than SOCOM Fire Team Bravo which I'm playing now as got a few weeks ago which for being a earlier PSP game and like the Medal of Honour Heroes 1&2, SWAT Target Liberty or Killzone Liberation the controls are very PSP like in sometimes good sometimes bad ways. Either way the Infection mode with Resistance 2 is a cool feature (just like many PS2/3 PSP connectivity), I wish to use at some point for a replay of this game. I may need to play this one in my PSP2000 for that 'On a 32 inch TV experience' with my Component cables (which has been awesome to do recently with a handful of games and a feature I've wanted to do for years. Glad that that want has been fulfilled and closing the Handhelds on the TV/Remote Play/Off TV Play gap of PSP, Vita and Wii U).

I actually prefer the alternative control scheme in which you use the face buttons for walking and the analog nub for aiming. I beat the entire game with it with the aim assist turned off and it felt like a fully fledged console title.
