@@jasonmast7769i seen my brother fuck up a few people pretty bad after getting punched in the face. Like someone would punch him once in the nose and id be like oh shit that guys gonna die, my bro discribed it as he would see like red tunnel vision and let every ounce of rage out on people like he would usually punch them in the throat and then the nose and then just rapidly right hand beat the dudes face in and blood would be flying everywhere and when dude would go down my bro would jump on him and just keep full force beating dudes face in and id usually have to pull him off so he didnt kill them cuz he would just be fueled with pure hate and if i didnt stop him those dudes would probably have died or needed reconstructive face surgery. One time i seen my bro get punched in the face and then crack this dude in the head with a 30pk of beer and the kid fell down a flight of stairs, my bro chucked the case down the stairs and then he straight sprinted and did a flying running jump down the flight of stairs landed a superman punch on the dudes face with his entire body weight / momentum. he painted the wall with that dudes face from the flying punch. then follow it up with rapid fire punching dude into a brick wall until the kid finally dropped to the floor and then my bro just sat on his chest constantly rapid fire punching his face into the concrete floor. I had to throw my bro off the guy cuz i thought dude was dead and i was like we need to get the fuck out of here. the whole fuckin hallway looked like a massacre, just covered in blood everywhere. The kid ended up getting arrested for under-age drinking after we left and his mugshot was in the newspaper with a picture of him just completely unrecognizable, his face was fucked. So yeah when somepeople get punched in the face the plan goes out the window and thats not always a good thing for the person who threw that first punch.

I'm liking the show. Not the best, sure, but it is pretty fun overall. So I'm still very in the air if Qimir is sith or not (I'll save my theory for that later), but I predict that by the end, he'll die. Sol... not sure. One of thee things. Either he'll do a heroic thing and die saving Osha or something (most likely), or he'll leave the jedi order for whatever reason, keeping some vow of secrecy (either from shame or to protect the jedi and/or Osha), which is how Kiadi doesn't learn of the Sith. Or he'll fall to the darkside himself.

Jecki was a beast (totally going in no holds barred) while flowing from emotions I think she was also matching her Masters ferocity. The way she kept going in for the kill. Qimer had killed multiple Jedi. She knew he needed taken down, it was her time to fight like a Knight of legends she undoubtedly heard about. Had she not been blindsided by the shoto she may have fell into defensive position. Sol can definitely be proud of the way he trained his padawan.

I'm not a fan of this show, but I did quite enjoy this episode. Besides the obvious action, the dialogue and acting seemed much more believable. Mostly. So I am going to defend Jecki performperforming so well. It's not the first time we've seen a Padawan perform so well in combat. Look at Obi Wan. He was completely outclassed by Darth Maul, yet he held his own for awhile, and even got Maul to work a bit in their final one-on-one. Obi Wan hadn't ever fought a Sith or enemy of that caliber before. If you're gonna complain about Jecki, you must not have liked Obi Wan. Ahsoka had several similar examples, too.

Actually pretty sure the books and comics both show this, especially the Vader comics. He almost got his throat cut by a Crotosis blade when a Jedi slashed through his lightsaber because the blade itself broke and wouldn't ignite. We also should take into account that Qimir is headbutting and striking sabers in a counter move that likely is forcibly breaking the magnetic field and overwhelming the crystal on purpose and with a single goal in mind: disarm and destroy.

I think the disengagement was because he was taking the opportunity to complete his primary mission of killing Mae. Every time he disengaged, it was to go to her. The last time you even see he really was trying to kill her. The first time, I don't think he expected Jackie to be there.

I've been wondering why these High Republic Jedi don't even "subdue" their opponents. Jedi Trinity had plenty of chances to submit Mae during their duel. Also Sol just lets Darth teeth get up and grab his lightsaber again. He didn't have to decapitate him, (though I think it was situationally justified as teeth is in the middle of a mass killing spree and was only "defenseless" because Sol beat him into submission not because he surrendered) but why not take a hand, stab a leg, incapacitate him and arrest him. Stop playing around guys. End the fight.

yeah that's a good point only jeckie tries to actually restrain someone. I think they didn't think through this part of the choreography. It's fair to call out cringe for what it, but acting like this is ruining Star Wars is bizarre. A bunch of people showed their hand earlier and it was obviously about the diverse casting, and now they're trying to backfill like that's not what it was about. I had since decided the word woke is just a regurgetated buz word for people who are afraid of gay people and melanin. Literally saw someone bitching in the comments about how there was a lack of white representation in this show and I was like "are you serious?! Who cares ?" I dont find the thinly portrayed same sex couple (the mothers) or lack of wyte male humanoids distracting at all. Its not like last jedi or captain marvel. Theres no marry sue. And theres actually a ton of white actors in it so what if they play aliens. Definitely a bunch of cry babies inserting their conservative views and opinions someone else spoon fed to them into a franchise about magical space wizards and aliens. You can tell when a wtiter/director is inserting their politics into a property. I dare say the sequal trilogy had more of that than this show. There is plenty to not like about this show without bringing your politics on board. Im mixed on this show. Theres good/entertaining parts. Consider how obi-wan ended up being able to match Maul, a Sith Lord, as a mere padawan himself after qui-gon died and he was overtaken by his emotions. Or Luke overpowering vader after being on the backfoot the whole time after his feelings for Leia were touched.

The official Star Wars account posted about Qimir’s Sith character. They call him “The Stranger.” Part of his description reads: “While some may call him a Sith, little is known of this dark sider who had been training Mae Aniseya in secret, hiding his face from his pupil.” I believe The Stranger, aka Qimir is more close to a Knight of Ren than a Sith. Because at the end of episode 5, you can hear Kylo Ren’s theme play and his helmet is built a little bit like a Knight of Ren.

The Star Wars website also had this to say about Mae: "Studying under the Stranger, a mysterious masked Sith Lord who made his home on an unknown world, Mae became skilled with knives and other methods of combat." Everything we've seen in the series itself supports that Qimir is in fact a Sith: • Mae reacts to Qimir's "peace is a lie" line in Episode 2 like she is sick of hearing it. • We are shown that Qimir's island hideout has only 1 landing pad, and it only has enough room for Qimir's ship - a ship that is shown to have 2 separate single-seat cockpits. This may not seem like much, but we know that in this point in time, the Sith are all about operating in pairs. Qimir himself confirms that there is no other ship Osha could take when she decides to return to Brendok to search for Mae - forcing them to travel together in Qimir's ship. • When Osha asks Qimir what he wants, his answer is "the power of two". Not one, not "maaaaany". Two. This is not a subtle reference to the Rule of Two, and assuming he is a Sith, it even implies that Qimir is merely the apprentice who aspires to kill his master to become the master. • Finally, Plagueis' presence on the island, coupled with the knowledge that there is only 1 landing pad with only 1 2-seater ship present at the time, suggests that Plagueis is a resident of this island, not a visitor.

Qimir's fighting style reminded me a lot of how Dao (Chinese Broadswords) are used one handed. Whenever his swordarm was doing anything, his offhand was either using the force, blocking with his corthosis bracelet (reminds of how Hung Gar Rings sometimes are depicted in old Hong Kong films), used as a counterbalance, or used for grappling. He at least once redirected a lightsaber blow from right to left with the blade pointed down and turned that momenrum into a direct counterattack, which is a classic dao move seen in a lot of forms from different Kung Fu styles. It is a pretty agressive, while elegant fighting style that has to close gaps a lot and never forgets using the offhand, which seems to be one of the inspirations for his lightsaber form.

If anything, secondary characters should take more effort to take down. We know they're doomed, give us some false hope before you crush our dreams. And that's what this show did with Jecki Lon. I was honestly kind of impressed with the choice. They lowkey went with a mini Red Wedding out of nowhere. Even baited us with the obvious redshirt Jedi Knights who I think everybody assumed would die. What made it such a great subterfuge was the character building they were doing between Osha and Jecki/Yord. Jecki as a supportive friend who is obviously more in-tune with the Force than most Jedi, and Yord as a suspicious former friend who was finally starting to warm back up to her. Both of them seemed like they had arcs that weren't concluded. And if I'd had to have picked one to die, I'd have guessed it'd be Yord. But after Qimir killed Jecki, I figured, "Okay, Yord's the one that'll survive, then." Nope. Brutal. Great episode.

If we're being honest here, LARPers could have given us a better choreographed sabre battle than the dumpster fire we see in the Acolyte S1E5. And "Cortosis" is nothing more than deus ex machina and lazy storytelling. Just so much speculation and confirmation bias on your part. You even contradict your own speculation throughout this video. Finally someone who isn’t just bashing everything! All I’ve seen is people bashing the show like it’s the worst thing to ever happened to the world. I’m with them to a degree but there comes a time when you join the enemy

Yeah the best thing is that they watch it, claim it's the worst thing ever and then continue watching... (Given: for most of them probably just continue watching KZbin channels bashing it)

This episode is a horror and Star Wars movies combined. We need a relentless villain that can run after his preys. Vader just strides in.

That Jecki fight really killed me inside. I really liked her character and fighting style.

I like many of us probably weren't surprised by the reveal of the Sith. Though his being yoked af was the real revelation. Still those lightsaber fights were very good. At least it looks like someone's been upping their choreography. Also, all hail Jecki, she may have died, but she went all in... hardcore. Respect Daphne Keen for getting that choreography down!
