"Analyzing The SpongeBob SquarePants Episode That Portrays Toxic Self-Improvement & Burnout"
*The footage and images featured in this video are for commentary and education which are protected under the Fair Use laws of the United States Copyright act of 1976.
Inspired by the Love of Jesus Christ
Verse of the Day (as related to the topic of this video):
"Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]. For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has set you free from the law of sin and of death." - Romans 8:1-2 (AMP)
A movie I highly recommend: The Gospel According to Matthew (starring a very animated and engaging acting performance by Bruce Marchiano, who plays Jesus). This is a word-for-word adaptation that has a unique take on the body language and charisma of Jesus, and also makes it easier to understand and quicker to read the story. I am hopeful that this movie gives you peace, love, hope, security, comfort, and answers, as it did me, and continues to do to this day. God bless you.

I know self love is and important thing to have, but I think you shouldn't always focus on yourself. We human beings need love. And love always needs other people. To be loved as well as to love. So whatever you do, don't fall into this trap of only loving yourself, because egoism really isn't healthy.

Spongebob was the epitome of a FAMILY show. It was bright and bouncy enough for kids, funny and unique enough for teens, well written and well acted enough for adults, and not too busy or dated for seniors. Only other series I can think coming close to being on the same level would be Avatar; not in terms of popularity, but by how anyone can enjoy it.

Thank you for validating my emotions. Like you, I feel I'm much more suited to a slower pace. I grew up with good grades, eventually ended up in prestigious institutions and a very high paced, physically and mentally taxing profession. I decided after one last try (that failed) that this life isn't for me. Sometimes I feel I'm not worthy of living because I just "wasted" everything, while my colleagues are already starting their careers. I'm still lost trying to find my path, and things definitely get hard when I compare myself to others (so I quit social media already), but this slow pace I'm taking now enabled me to learn a lot of new things outside of my field. So many exciting things that I never had the time for before. And I'm also learning to love myself more.

@Bender Bending Rodriguez big difference between “millionaire” and “multi-millionaire” (which I will define as a net worth more than 10 million) or “billionaire” the first one is feasible but the last two are pretty much impossible unless you’re born wealthy, have connections, or were in the right place at the right time. Hard work isn’t everything, it can only take you so far. Obviously, to be wealthy you still have to grind, but let me make an analogy. To play basketball at a professional level, Shaquille O’Neal had to consistently workout and train his ass off to be in peak human shape. He definitely worked hard and no one can take that away from him, but I could hypothetically work harder than he ever did and still not be able to get into the NBA because I’m not 7’1

Yep, at some point you've got to start living your life. Self development can teach you many things about yourself, but what it can't is the discipline to put it into practice. And to add on about the hustle culture, remember folks they choose to live that way. Thats what it takes to run million if not billion dollars businesses, most people are not cut out for that life...and thats okay. It doesn't make them better than you, or even happier. There's no measuring stick for life, so don't compare yours to others. Do what works for you, and allows you to express yourself to the fullest.

The British comedy show, The Inbetweeners had a good episode about toxic hustle culture regarding exams. The character Will revises non-stop and even drinks energy drinks so he can study more. This culminates in Will shitting himself in his exam!

Well life isn't meant to be enjoyable or anything really. Another key point when it comes to self improvement or achieving something is that you have to WANT to do it. I still remember my parent forcing me into all these sports as a kid and teen and complaining why I wasn't trying and saying I don't like things being hard. NO, I just didn't want to be there. I hated every moment of it. The key here is that you have to want it at the end of the day, you can lead a horse to water and all that. My problem is that I don't really want to do anything so this sort of doesn't work.

I went through a long period of time, I think realistically 6-7 years, of over-self-improving, which ultimately culminated basically in everything almost all falling apart because of the stress of it and the idea of it never ending, thank goodness my family and friends were so supportive. I remember everyday the final year, working 12 hour days, sleeping

You're "good enough" at something when you can complete your goals. There is a spectrum of goals so there is a spectrum of "good enough". Suppose you want to be good enough at home repair. Maybe you're good enough to change a light bulb, but not yet good enough to do house wiring. That's okay. Acknowledge what you can do what what you cant yet do and put effort into doing what you can't yet

Self-improvement has helped me in some ways but also hurt me in others, even made me feel inadequate as a person. Don't get it wrong, I do want better for myself, and I want to reach where I know I'm totally capable of. As I am right now, that may not be the case but it's a journey I'm going to enjoy. All I know is that I have a plan, I will become my own boss, I will work my own hours and I will get my money going. One of the first moves is to leave where I live at the moment, I have lived here for years, never liked it, never liked the people here and I'm going to leave for somewhere better I can actually meet new people and actually be able to have new experiences, as well as more and new opportunities for what I plan on doing. I've always dreaded going home, driving back to this little town I currently live in, almost and admittingly, I've never really cared if a truck veered off the right side of the road and squashed my car because I've always had a certain depression living here.

For me self improvement is a constant process. The body and mind stagnant. They need to be maintained and improved. I have nothing but room for improvement myself. Getting burnt out is okay and normal, it happens to everyone at some point. Progress isn't linear and it doesn't have a time frame. If I have any advice, next time you go to bed, decide you're gonna wake up and be a better person. Start small, one little thing to do better, do that, then go to bed, and do it again

Self-Love and Self-Care is an overrated cliche that we tell little kids because we haven't found a useful way to utilize them. Motivation? Survive. Love? Bunch of chemicals in your brain. Useless. Happiness? Who cares? Sadness? Get over it, your not gonna get a job by just crying. Fulfillment? Fleeting. If you can't do better then what your already doing, your not good enough. This is the real world, not a fairytale. Get over yourself and just survive.

I don't think u know what ur talking ab tbh. I think you're avoiding something because you don't know how to do it in a non toxic or fun way. Imo self development should be fun or you're doing something wrong. What I've seen from my experience is the key is to understand things on a deep level. Understand yourself and the world you live in. The fundamentals of those things are the most important
