It is so funny how you also you say you stumbled upon this book. I stumbled upon it myself looking for an "anam cara" necklace for my friend. Something about it caught my eye. I read the first chapter on google, as well as listened to a couple of his final interviews trying to learn more about it before buying it. I have not yet read the book, but hearing his words on describing beauty and "the landscape" among other things.. I found myself lost in a hole for hours. Many of the other reveiwers also found this book by accident, and those that found it on accident all said they were glad they had the read. I decided to buy it for my friend and I want to get myself a copy. Thank you so much for your wonderful, informative review!

Thank you for creating this video to help spread knowledge of John O’Donahue‘s books. I can’t understand how so few people know of him. I was given his book of Blessings ( To Bless the Space Between Us) 10 years ago and ever since then I continually read all of his books and listen to all of his recordings and interviews. Like you, almost every sentence is underlined! All of his books are beautifully written and he labored hard to express deep subjects in clear and beautiful ways. You can just dip into them at any point and glean the most poignant insights. I recommend that people start with his book of blessings and don’t even read the blessings first but read the introduction and the three or four pages of prose before each chapter. The next step for the reader would be to listen to him speak in one of his conversations or in how he reads his audiobooks.

What is amazing is that so many of us are still discovering his writing all these years later. Interestingly enough, I picked up To Bless the Space Between Us just a couple of weeks ago. @@tinalmoodyllc To Bless the Space Between Us is much easier to read than his other books but just as insightful. Each blessing needs to be read more slowly. He describes in the introduction how a poem is its own forcefield but a blessing differs and he explains how

Whenever I consider buying a book, especially when I am doing my own research for truth and the reality of this messed up realm I find myself in- I like a bit of background about the author before purchasing. I am aware that a lot of people have varied life experience, and may have been part of something that doesn't resonate with truth and integrity. Although this may have been the case, perhaps wisdom may have risen over time and they moved into a place more harmonious, true and congruent. I noticed that the President of Ireland (Michael D Higgins) did an introduction to the 25th anniversary edition. If anyone takes the time to look into the history and present day of Michael Higgins- you will clearly see that he is part of the machine/cult that is against humanity, and has the cast iron grip on this world that causes much suffering, misery, slavery and death. I won't be buying this book.
