The name umuoba is already Igbo showing their ancestors where Igbo. Igalas themselves are Igbo descended from ancient times. Idah himself is son of Eri and half brother to Nri and his siblings. Anam people came from three main lineages. Nri, Igala and Nteje. Igala people are descended from the step brother of Nri-Menri. That is why Anam people mainly practice the Igbo culture, including Iri Ji and other cultural practises. Both Igala people and Anam people still use the 4 market days owned by Nri people. This shows the ancient relationships and brotherly bonds with these communities and Nri people.

The only thing igala brought to igbo land was idol worship. Our culture was a mosaic and Abrahamic culture igala brought idol worship to us.
