Music was and is legend. Absolutely loves AO music. When i saw the empty grid i smiled, newer seen it so empty. :(

Gosh, the soundtrack still gives me chills to this day. Those noisy omni robots with this soundtrack always froze my spine during my journeys at the cities. I really loved this game. The entire world was new to be discovered, and the community were always friendly and helpful. It took months to get money for my first Yalm(doing hard quests at the terminal). Then I learned the basics of the most complex system ever made for a game: implants, and got my Martial Artist with high implants soloing bosses at ToTTW. I only stopped playing AO because of the update after the new engine. It didn't work with dual cores (it gave me very low fps, like 5 to 10), but I could play it smoothly before with my already dead Pentium 4. I saw in the forum that it couldn't be fixed, then I dropped it. I played the last time at Christmas many, many years ago. There was good stuff with that Santa Leet quest. Haha! I still miss AO and I don't care about the updated graphics. There was so much to do and I didn't play 10% of the game. For me it's still the best sci-fi MMO game ever made, although I have my hearth in Star Wars The Old Republic. My dream is that someday they redo AO. I'll try to install it this year. I hope this game survive decades ahead. Thank you for the video.

I played this a lot around 2005 or so. I miss going into TOTW killing the guardian of the three or whatever and suddenly a train of mobs would pop out of nowhere and kill me and my team. Good times. I also enjoyed dyna hunting.

there was an appeal to the unpredictable and unfair nature of the game mechanics. not everybody was guaranteed the same loot or any loot even with a fair roll. you could ruin people's Day by training things to them. everything took so long and was so tenuous and difficult at least for me that anything you did anything you got was a real achievement. rare loot was actually rare. hard mobs were actually hard. men were real men women were real women and atroxes were real atroxes.

Oh fuck me, such memories. I played like a maniac since launch and quit for good in 2012 I think. This is like looking down on my youth, almost depressing, heh.

It was the music that got me, I left for about 6 years, then when I logged in and heard that music ❤️ loved it

I spent thousands of hours and many many years playing this - The reason I quit was simply because they changed the way people ran instances. Instead of a huge group with lots of fun and a point system, you could now do the same with maybe 4 people. There's no fun in that.

So "raids" are no longer raids but just 1-group content?

@@imonlyamanandiwilldiesomed4406 Basically. I can't tell you how many Beast raids I've been in while being carried by a single multi-boxer. On one hand, getting Burden of Competence has never been easier, for example. On the other hand, it's just anti-climactic. The APFs are still raids that need more than a group's worth though.

I was really glad when this went free to play and this game allowed my future other half and I to play together on our potato machines, but it's clearly lapsed into obscurity Good memories though

First time hearing about this game, but it looks very interesting. I heard the soundtrack and i'm drawn to it. For a 2001 it game it looks better than some games from today, maybe Warframe could take this online system as an idea for their next content. Are there many players or just few here and there? Steam Charts shows only 2 players, but another website shows 4,000. Also, you mentioned the subscription is one of the most expensive MMO's, how much is it, and do i have to get it as a new player? Thanks

Hey it’s still a great game, I enjoy it, but it’s €17 a month, which is very high, u can get the free version, but you are missing out on a lot as a “froob”
